I would be happy to teach you how to format everything! I could edit your sandbox directly, show you examples, or just talk you through it, whatever you think would work. I'm very impressed that you figured out how to use <ref> tags - that's awesome, especially for a newbie! I'd also love to teach you how to use what we call "cite templates", which allow you to put all of the bibliographical information in the reference, making it even easier for the reader to find your sources.
