Hey, thanks for contributing on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joanna Dolgoff. FYI, it's usually best practice to avoid referring to BLPs as "vanity" even when that's the obvious purpose. AFD discussions are often read by the subjects of the articles and even cited in news publications, so we like to keep it formal. No big deal, but I thought I should point it out. Hi. Could I ask why you nominated Blanche on the Lam for speedy deletion? It looks like it was the perfect stub. More to the point, it looks like the book is considered quite notable as "the first mystery by a black woman with a Black woman as the heroine" (Washington 1992) and it has won three major mystery novel awards. In the future, could you please follow WP:BEFORE and at least consult with our new users and help make this place more inviting? The priority of new page patrol is not to delete, but to check articles and give them a nudge on their way to becoming "quality articles". More importantly, editors count. Always glance at the contribution history of a new editor who has created a new stub, in this case Special:Contributions/Serena530. If you had, you would have noticed an editor who was working on a notable encyclopedic topic in good faith, and who could use your help in getting acquainted with Wikipedia.
