Welcome!

Hello, SamyeLing, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Hi,

I am not hiding the fact that I live and work at Samye Ling. If I create another user that does not identify me as having an interest then I can make any change I like? I prefer open and honest if that is okay let me know.

The only change I made was to remove the accent from the e in Samye as there is no accent on the e in Samye.

The current content for the Samye Ling wiki is not up to date and actually gives little information on the history, development and work of Samye Ling and ROKPA Trust. Where is the reference to the visit by the Dalai Lama or the many visits by Tai Situpa, no mention of the passing of Sherab Palden Beru?

I would like to update the content and bring it up to date and current.

I am new to using wiki so it will take me a while to get used to how to edit etc. I am perfectly prepared to have the edits checked and will cite sources.

There are several issues here. First of all, your username is a violation of Wikipedia's username policy because it's the name of an organization and implies shared use. Wikipedia accounts are for individuals, not for groups or corporations, and the username should reflect that. See WP:Changing username/Simple to request a username change. That said, Wikipedia content should be based on what reliable sources such as newspapers report; the Kagyu Samye Ling Monastery and Tibetan Centre article is rather short on those, and significant changes to the article should be accompanied by such sources (and not just primary sources such as their own website). Given your conflict of interest, it may be a good idea not to edit the article directly but rather to propose specific changes on the talk page. Finally, you're entirely right about the accent, I've fixed that. Huon ( talk) 13:57, 14 June 2014 (UTC) reply

I have been to samye ling, and have been associated with people acquainted with the earlier user/founders, and am slightly up with following the the later re-invigoration.

I am aware that there are probably a significant number of issues you might want to raise.

You are most welcome to either email me for a longer offline conversation, or if you wish to stay on wikipedia for conversations about things - that is fine.

Please find my email on the User drop down at the top of the page, and I would only be too pleased to help. satusuro 12:23, 14 June 2014 (UTC) reply
