AKB48 former members chart

I placed a copy of the chart at my sandbox. [1] Some additional ideas include removing exact dates of joins/graduations and just leaving years active. The last time I tried to put all the sortable columns for birth date and prefecture, it was reverted by the editor, so I don't really want to tweak that much. Perhaps the second table which only adds the Gen, Years Active and Status columns will be more suitable. - AngusWOOF ( talk) 19:12, 27 June 2013 (UTC) reply

Was wondering if you had reached a conclusion as to what you wanted to try for the former members. I think the idea of redoing the article as List of AKB48 members with categories Current Members and Members by Generation as with Members of JKT48 is a good one. The current roster on the main article can then be shortened to a comma-separated list that Wikipedia use for listing personnel for singles "Team A: NAME1, NAME2, etc. Team K: NAME3, NAME4, ... " (think discography of albums on the main article). For the top of the Members page, it can be the existing roster tables or a trimmed down version, perhaps just showing birthday and date joined/years active. The Members by Generation tables can then be detailed and referenced with all sorts of information including the stuff you already mentioned, with most member name redirects going to those entries (can use vanchors if appropriate). Transfers table should show when the member first joined AKB48 since they weren't part of a generation. Well, those are my thoughts. It could be all for naught if the other editors have a completely different vision. - AngusWOOF ( talk) 04:55, 5 July 2013 (UTC) reply

Re: Miyazawa Sae

Hello,

Why not C-Class? No real reason, actually, other than: 1) I do a lot of quick, uncontroversial assessments, and in this case one can easily ascertain that the article is not a stub in a matter of seconds, and 2) I normally refrain from giving "higher" assessments (B in particular, but also C to a degree) for projects of which I am not a member (this article being a case in point). This is why I gave the edit summary as "Start class at least", i.e. I definitely didn't think it could not be rated higher.

On taking a second, more detailed look, I found that the article meets the C class criteria. Moreover, I don't think there is a reason why it couldn't be rated as B - having a photo is desirable but is not required (see WP:BCLASS), and the article looks fine in other departments. Note that, in this case, in order to assess WP:BCLASS #1 one needs to have a working knowledge of Japanese, and that assessing WP:BCLASS #2 may require at least some familiarity with the subject. These are the areas where I come up short, so my suggestion would be to post an assessment request here, and a project member will hopefully respond. p values and the 0.05 standard

Hi, I'm curious about the origins of the 0.05 p -value standard and didn't want to continue the discussion on the homeopathy talk page, so I hope you don't mind a question here. I admittedly oversimplified my statement about 0.05 being arbitrary, mainly in an effort to save space and not overexert myself in addressing another editor. Clearly, "arbitrary" was not the best word, but what I'm curious about is the origins of two standard deviations being established as the cut off for significance. Is there any inherent reason why two SDs are significant, or is it simply a convenient attribute of any distribution which can be used to define outlying data points? Thanks for the clarification. - Puddin'head 64.58.20.99 ( talk) 19:25, 17 March 2015 (UTC) reply
