If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Plymouth Guild requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Welcome again; and possible Conflict of Interest note

Hi Oliverplymouthguild, and again welcome to Wikipedia!
Just a little note: are you possibly the Oliver Burton associated with Plymouth Guild?
-- Shirt58 ( talk) 11:28, 22 June 2011 (UTC) reply

Hi Oliverplymouthguild, please do not feel obliged to answer the above question, you are free to contribute here anonymously.
I would be prepared to userfy the deleted article (i.e. put a draft version in your userspace for you to continue working on) only if you were to file to change your user name or start up a new account which did not appear to make you an official representative of the Plymouth Guild. You can ask to change your username at WP:CHU/S. Advice on how to go about editing if you have a conflict of interest is at WP:COI and you can ask for help in this situation at WP:COI/N. Thanks ( talk) 12:52, 22 June 2011 (UTC) reply

Hi I have submitted a username change request. Thank you for the link

also as this is my first experience of wikipedia I think I've accidentally deleted the last person's posts! Sorry about that!

Cool, feel free to drop a note on my talk page if you would like a userfied version once your request goes through or if you would like a bit of advice about creating drafts or getting some independent feedback on a draft once you think it is ready. As for deleting something, you can always see the past using the history tab at the top of the page (now restored below). Cheers ( talk) 13:11, 22 June 2011 (UTC) reply

Plymouth Guild

I deleted the article on two counts

  • It has no substantive content — I don't even know what cause the charity supports, let alone its turnover, staff numbers or any other information
  • Because it has no real content, it can't show that it meets the notability guidelines. Although the Charity Commission ref is an independent verifiable sources, it just confirms the charity exists. You need additional references to show why it is notable, as detailed in the link above. If you recreate, make sure that the article is written in a neutral encyclopaedic tone, and cannot be construed as an advert, hope this helps Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:03, 22 June 2011 (UTC) reply
