Karlie

What makes it disputed? I have seen a number of sources. [1] CrazyAces489 ( talk) 16:19, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

Firstly, the fact that she clearly doesn't want her birth name or date of birth known means you shouldn't go trying to dig this information up and adding it to Wikipedia, per half the guidelines on the BLP policy page. You also provided only a single source above, which contains only one name - I fail to see how that's proof of anything. Find a couple of interviews / biographies (in reliable sources!) making this connection and then you should add it to the article, assuming again it doesn't contravene the previously mentioned policy. Nik the stunned 16:34, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

wikipolicy states " If the subject complains about the inclusion of the date of birth, or the person is borderline notable, err on the side of caution and simply list the year In a similar vein" WP:DOB. She is a tv star, a publci figure. WP:WELLKNOWN. Privacy of names comes from single event individuals WP:BLPNAME or otherwise low-profile persons. She is NOT a single event individual and is not a low profile individual. CrazyAces489 ( talk) 16:09, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

You have yet to provide proof which states she was born on any particular year, and as such the information, as per WP:BLPPRIVACY, should not be included. She's not that well known, there's very little non-rumour information about her, so this information should not be included. Simple. Nik the stunned 16:20, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

Since you made a concerning her name. [2] and put it in the profile. [3] I can now move on to the age. Further research will be done. CrazyAces489 ( talk) 17:02, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

You need to read and understand this. This one too. Nik the stunned 17:31, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
Done, and I can still find more information. CrazyAces489 ( talk) 17:50, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Dabiq (Magazine) Issue

Regarding external links, since Dabiq (Magazine) is a propaganda magazine and links can be used as "Fair Use" on articles. Even the source (Al-Hayat Media) of the magazine will not oppose its links being publicized. I suggest a common user, surfing Wikipedia would prefer external links to "clarion project" to pdf version of magazines be provided rather than they manually searching for embedded references, which again point to the project website. I clearly understand that it may not comply perfectly with Wiki standards, but considering this as a special case will do. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MMXVI ( talkcontribs) 10:42, 25 November 2015 (UTC)

That sort of linking is inappropriate on any article. Nik the stunned 10:46, 25 November 2015 (UTC)

I have filed the following in the External links/Noticeboard.

External link in the article List of oldest companies. My addition of an external link to a totally nonprofit web page listing the oldest companies in Finland by date was deleted by Nikthestunned as a "spamlink".

It is, however, certainly not spam, but perfectly relevant information and based on long time research. Covering years up to 1879 the Finnish list is also a useful addition to Wikipedia's worldwide list up to 1699. Benevolent and relevant attemps to assist Wikipedia's readers by supplementing the global list should definitely not be dismissed as "spam", but rather encouraged.

I request the link to be reinstated. Alternatively, should my link be considered violating some other Wikipedia guideline, I request the wording of the dismissal to be changed. Calling my well meaning contribution "spam" is unjustly discrediting. Please review this case. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.89.123.43 ( talk) 09:58, 6 December 2015 (UTC)

Hi, it's Infopage100

Hi, Nikthestunned! I made a few edits to Zedd Discography! I finally added that "Unreleased songs" table I spoke of earlier! After another edit to Zedd Discography, I accidentally forgot to make the link to Foxes, a link to the singer, and not the creature, so I recently repaired that. So check it out 😃! I don't know how to make the list of unreleased songs look the same way the list of singles do though. You know like, make the songs written in BOLD writing, and make the background grey like the singles list, so if you can do that for me, whenever it's possible, I would highly appreciate that. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Infopage100 ( talkcontribs) 10:43, 4 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello there Nikthestunned, thanks for helping me with that edit on Zedd discography a few months ago, almost a year ago actually. I vitiated the page quite a bit, but you saved that disaster there. Since then, I've actually done much better here on Wikipedia. I've also created a series of pages too! Which, if you wish, you can contribute to here. Hey there

Will you explain why do you consider YourEDM.com to be an unreliable source? How do you measure the reliability of sources? In my opinion, I think that website is the most reliable one for electronic dance music-related topics. It is always placed on top of Google searches so how do you consider that to be unreliable? - TheMagnificentist ( talk) 14:26, 20 October 2016 (UTC)

As it seems that 100% of the articles being linked to are simple, routine, press-release-style song announcements, just like all the other websites which publish those exact same things. It's always: "positive blurb about song" followed by "go listen here at their soundcloud" - never any actual reviewing of any sort. Another key indicator is that none of the "articles" which were linked to were by any of their listed staff, meaning it's most likely not getting any real editorial oversight. Basically - I'd perhaps use them as a contributing source to non-promotional information - but only if I found another, undoubtedly reliable source saying the same or similar thing. Search ranking is meaningless in ascertaining reliability also. Nik the stunned 19:11, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for responding. - TheMagnificentist ( talk) 14:29, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

Sockpuppet investigation

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Nikthestunned, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Attempt of sabotage

Hello Nikthestunned.

I noticed you have been attempting to impair the efforts of our fellow editors on many music-related articles. May I ask for your reason? I don't see any to remove the sourced contents. We as Wikipedians are expected to improve articles not destroy them. - TheMagnificentist ( talk) 13:19, 22 October 2016 (UTC)

The 'sources' you're adding aren't in any way reliable and should not be added to Wikipedia - I'm attempting to fix the problem you're creating. Nik the stunned 13:21, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
Reliability of sources is a matter of discussion. You do not have the authority to dictate which is reliable and which is not. If you think a source is unreliable, please make a discussion on the relevant article's talk page. - TheMagnificentist ( talk) 13:23, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
That's not how this works - you're adding poorly sourced content supported only by press releases whic I'm removing- we'll see how your ridiculous SPI goes. Nik the stunned 13:24, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
They're not poorly sourced nor added by me. Instead of reverting unnecessarily, why don't you discuss it on the talk page? - TheMagnificentist ( talk) 13:28, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
Nothing to discuss, I tried that above and you ignored me. Nik the stunned 13:29, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
You don't seem to understand EDM music articles. The genres are supposed to be like that, "House" is too general and it appears that you're only doing it to articles I created. Sabotage much? - TheMagnificentist ( talk) 13:32, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
Also about the Illenium article and your claim of promotional content, Wikipedia is SUPPOSED to discuss the discography of an artist. All those so-called promotional content are the songs he released. They are supposed to be there. I assume you're new in music articles. - TheMagnificentist ( talk) 13:37, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
The template specifies you should "aim for generality" - not add a load of specific sub-genres which are meaningless to most readers. I'm not targetting you, I'm looking at a whole slew of articles by yourself, Infopage100 and XPanettaa, as all three of you are terrible at finding RELIABLE sources and keep creating non-notable articles. Nik the stunned 13:38, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
Times are changing and house music considered general for the 80s. Deep house, progressive house and more are now their genres. They're not sub-genres by definition, they're sub-genres by tradition. - TheMagnificentist ( talk) 13:40, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
AIM FOR GENERALITY Nik the stunned 13:43, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
On the Illenium article, you removed the following genres: Progressive house, electronic, dubstep, electro house and future bass. Electronic music is not house music. Dubstep music is not house music. Future bass is not house music. What can you say about that? - TheMagnificentist ( talk) 13:49, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
Sounds to me like Electronic music alone would be more appropriate then, I'll update it to just that. Nik the stunned 13:50, 22 October 2016 (UTC)

Well. That didn't last long. Karst ( talk) 21:38, 22 October 2016 (UTC)

Concern about content removal

Hi. I'm worried about your content removals on many articles. While I do understand that you think the sources cited are "promotional", I am concerned because the content removed are mostly the main ones. People visit this website to see information so I wonder why you would be more focused on removing the content rather than helping to find for proper sources. The policy you mentioned WP:INDISCRIMINATE does not support your recent edits of removing content and blanking. Can you prove any of the content you removed are promotional? I can prove that most of them are actually about the subjects. In my opinion, I don't think you understand how music articles should be. Just a suggestion, please move on to other topics such as politics, history, entertainment or even other music topics like pop genre or hip hop. I am well-aware that you are allowed to edit any article you want but it's just a personal request, you are free to decline or even ignore it. I apologize if I've hurt your feelings. I also feel harassed by your style of editing. It feels like you're personally targeting me by talking about the 200+ redirects I've made and the constant removal of content on several articles I've edited such as Jump Smokers, STMPD RCRDS and so on. Why I say this, is because Jump Smokers aren't a very well known music group so I didn't expect you to know about them but you recently added some tags there (possibly after seeing my contributions to that article). As per WP:HARASS, the purpose is to make the target feel threatened or intimidated, and the outcome may be to make editing Wikipedia unpleasant for the target, to undermine, frighten, or discourage them from editing. - ReZawler ( talkcontribs) 13:58, 29 October 2016 (UTC)

I'm just trying to figure out if you're a sock puppet of Infopage100, or of TheMagnificentist - possibly even both. I'd have raised this concern in the SP investigation but you've so far displayed editing behaviour of both so I've refrained. I was hoping you were just a brand new editor who just assumed they were doing the right thing... And that you would therefore have taken the hint you weren't from all the experienced editors reverting you and raising matters in deletion discussions, but it appears not. Nik the stunned 16:30, 29 October 2016 (UTC)

saw you accused me of Sockpuppetry

I'm not really sure what Sockpuppetry is but I do understand that u accuse me of it, and that u claim I made a new account just to edit an article. I don't know who these other accounts are but I was just trying to set up a wikipedia page for this missing artist. So if you have got any suggestions on making it what is in your eyes 'a decent(?) article, i'd like to hear them.

Thank you very much,

Please stop re-creating a non-notable article, as determined by this deletion discussion. If you feel the page should be recreated, please head over to Articles for creation where you can submit a draft and it will be reviewed by other editors before, assuming it's now notable enough, being copied into the main encyclopedia. More trains!

Hi, I've done a couple of serious edits to some of the Chinese railway pages, they're in my sandbox.

Could you cast an eye on them please before I publish. They're inter-connected....

first I've revised the Harbin-Manzhouli Railway, mainly because I created a route diagram, I'll publish the diagram as a template and the red link to it is on the main page.

second, part of the above route has a parallel high-speed route, so I've edited that page as well, the original had been written before it opened...so that page needed a route map as well and I've done it separately.

The two route diagrams are also in my sandbox....

How do I add the necessary categories?

Should I just publish them and see if there's any reaction? I've quite enjoyed the challenge, creating routemaps is tricky and trying to find Chinese references even trickier!!! Colin Langdon 17:00, 6 December 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Colinlangdon ( talkcontribs)

"Wtf is presave"

In regards to your edit summary here, pre-saving a song is a feature where you click a button to receive a song when it is released; it allows you to "pre-save" a song to your library before it is released. It's a well-known term in the current music world. Also, per WP:SOCIALMEDIA, primary sources such as an artist's social media accounts are allowable to cite facts about themselves ("Self-published and questionable sources may be used as sources of information about themselves, usually in articles about themselves or their activities"). So while not the best source, there is no reason to remove it as it is allowed (and it isn't even the only use of social media on the page). Please don't remove it again per WP:BRD. Thanks.

Thanks.
