If you like, I could add the references from the Italian wikipedia articles. The reason I have not done so is that I have not actually seen them. Please advise. Mock wurzel soup ( talk) 17:38, 21 April 2018 (UTC) reply
Other Wikipedias aren't reliable sources, but if that's where you got your information from, copy them with their references and then make it clear on the talk page that this is a translation of the Italian Wikipedia article. Thanks for replying, Boleyn ( talk) 18:54, 21 April 2018 (UTC) reply

Midi E 3101

Hi, do you know anything about this loco? File:Midi E 3101.jpg / 2C2 3100

When the Midi electrified in 1912, they ordered six similar 1′C1′ locos from different makers, in order to test the best electrical and mechanical systems. E 3101 was one of these. Later on, the Midi (and then SNCF) had a small class of 2′C2′ electrics with overlapping numbering. Was there anything in common between them? Was it even a rebuild?! Both of these classes (and E 3101 was German-built) were upset by the outbreak of war.

Supposedly the outcome of the trials was an order for some locos based on a combination of E 3201 and E 3401 features, with a 2′C2′layout. Was this the 2C2 3100 class? If so, when did the major differerences creep in - such as the change of electrification system from AC to DC – Pretty major! And why where they numbered from E 3101, overlapping another loco? Had it been scrapped by this time? Did the first AC trials take place pre- or post-war?

I've ordered a copy of the Ransome-Wallis book [1], but the two relevant pages are on Google too and don't seem to make it much clearer.

Thanks Andy Dingley ( talk) 11:17, 5 June 2018 (UTC) reply

Sorry, I have no information. It might be worth contacting Utilisateur:Flm Hirschberg [2]. He says he is a specialist in the history of electric traction. Mock wurzel soup ( talk) 13:53, 5 June 2018 (UTC) reply

MCAS

I agree with your that redirect of the MCAS article was premature. The effect of folding a portion of it into the B737MAX article is that the all of the context is lost -- the history and the comparison to the Airbus design philosophy. Now it is a couple of paras in a 90K article, a relative footnote. These are the same people that sent 2019 Boeing 737 MAX crisis to AfD. If I didn't know better, I would suspect them to be Boeing fanboys. Rhadow ( talk) 11:46, 16 March 2019 (UTC) reply
