Welcome!

Hello, MelindaatNASDCTEc, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for helping us build a great free encyclopedia. We have five basic principles, but other than that, we advise that you be bold and edit. If you ever have any questions or need help, feel free to leave a message at the help desk, and other Wikipedia editors will be happy to assist you.

Thanks again and congratulations on becoming a Wikipedian!

P.S. New discussion threads for you will appear at the bottom of this page.

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium (NASDCTEc), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://futureeducators.pages.tcnj.edu/?page_id=7421.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium (NASDCTEc), and I noticed that the username you have chosen, "NASDCTEc", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website which relates to the entity in question, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or accounts that are shared. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our Conflict of interest guideline and Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Drm310 ( talk) 19:21, 2 July 2013 (UTC) reply

Drm310 - Thanks so much for the guidance. I am new to Wikipedia, and I didn't realize that I couldn't use a company name. As soon as I realized my oversight, I submitted a request to change the user name. I'd prefer not to use my personal name, but I have chosen a name that is not limited to any one organization (Career Technical Education describes a field of education and my area of interest). Please let me know if I have overstepped in other areas. Thanks again! 76.5.242.120 ( talk) 19:31, 2 July 2013 (UTC) reply

No problem. Unfortunately it appears the admins turned down your username change request for a couple of reasons:
  • You made the request without logging in, as an anonymous user. You have to be logged in with the "NASDCTEc" account to request the change.
  • The new name you chose did not conform to the username policy because it still implies the name of a group or could imply shared use.
You could try something like "[your first name] at NASDCTEc", because that identifies an individual. Try re-reading the username policy on acceptable usernames and submit another request. Good luck. -- Drm310 ( talk) 22:25, 2 July 2013 (UTC) reply

Drm310 - Thanks again. I had logged out before submitting the request because one of the help pages suggested doing so in order to avoid losing edits that had been made. Sounds like that was bad advice. I've tried again with the user name you recommended. Thanks! NASDCTEc ( talk) 14:25, 3 July 2013 (UTC) reply

Hello MelindaatNASDCTEc. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled " Common Career Technical Core (CCTC)".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Common Career Technical Core (CCTC)}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot ( talk) 00:03, 5 February 2014 (UTC) reply
