Meeting point

Do administrators willing to provide copies of deleted articles have a meeting point? 84.120.7.178 ( talk) 16:45, 1 August 2020 (UTC)

I don't. I just have people make requests of me here or by email. Do you need a copy? Megalibrarygirl ( talk) 16:48, 1 August 2020 (UTC)
I would like to make a project-wide proposal. Wikipedia:Viewing deleted content only adduces legal concerns. There is a Wikipedia:List of hoaxes on Wikipedia. Do you think it would be fair to have, for instance, a Wikipedia:List of articles about non-notable topics? 84.120.7.178 ( talk) 17:24, 1 August 2020 (UTC)
How do you think viewing deleted articles causes a legal issue? I'm not a lawyer, but my friend, Montanabw is. Maybe they can help with that end. I think, however, that creating a list of articles about non-notable topics would become huge! Also, some topics start out not being notable, and later become notable. So the list would constantly have to be maintained. Just looking at WP:AFD, you can see a huge list of topics that are being debated on in regards to notability. In a way, the archives of AFD are a list of non-notable topics. Megalibrarygirl ( talk) 17:38, 1 August 2020 (UTC)
You may see Wikimedia Foundation's legal concerns at WP:VDC, but they do not relate to notability. On another hand, WP:HOAXLIST is list of articles, not a list of topics.
Please do not focus on feasibility yet. Would it be good for Wikipedia users to have a list of articles about non-notable topics? 84.120.7.178 ( talk) 19:15, 1 August 2020 (UTC)
I don't think it would make sense to have a list of non-notable topics based on several concerns. Such a list wouldn't be useful. It's hard enough to define notability in a general sense, and even more difficult to decide what's not notable. In addition, as I mentioned, topics that weren't notable at first, may become notable later on. Having a list of non-notable topics makes the creation of articles that later become notable a lot messier. Another issue is that, as humans, we define things by what they are, not by what they aren't. Because of that, a list of non-notable topics doesn't help the mission of Wikipedia because it can't help us locate and find notable topics. Megalibrarygirl ( talk) 21:28, 1 August 2020 (UTC)
You are not answering my question; you keep talking about list of topics. Perhaps my question is confusing, so let me rephrase it: would it be good to have a Wikipedia:List of non-notable articles?
It seems you may have trouble understanding the idea. Since pages can be deleted, could you create the mentioned page and let me develop the system? 84.120.7.178 ( talk) 22:35, 1 August 2020 (UTC)
What you're talking about would be a list, as far as I can tell. If you want to create this article, I think that you could probably use your sandbox to work it out there. I'm not interested in the project, but I appreciate you seeking out my input. Megalibrarygirl ( talk) 17:08, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
You are welcome. 84.120.7.178 ( talk) 20:40, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
