Thanks for your review of the draft article on Kate Lord Brown. Could I get clarification on "In-line citations are needed for every claim"? (I am technically adept but a very inexperienced worker bee here at Wikipedia.)
For instance, the opening sentence of the draft reads: "Lord Brown grew up in Devon, UK, and studied at St Margaret's, Exeter, before gaining a fine art scholarship to Blundell's." Arguably, there are three claims made in that sentence: that she grew up in Devon; that she studied at St. Margaret's; and that she got the indicated scholarship at Blundell's. Using the same strict interpretation (mine, I mean), that sentence and the rest of the article will be littered with in-line cites. This doesn't to me seem consistent with many Wikipedia biographies' styles. (I understand various editors' standards might differ from one another's.)
Again, not challenging, just wanting to confirm. For example, what sort of external linkable source could possibly provide evidence that she studied at St. Margaret's?

- Hi FLJerseyBoy, thanks for your message. You've asked a good question. The relevant policy is WP:BLP, which describes the high standard that Wikipedia has for biographies of living people. In the example you provided, yes, I actually would provide a source for all three of the claims made in that sentence. The policy linked above says that there should be no original research WP:ORIGINAL, which means that the information does need to be found in reliable, published sources. To answer your second question, the source does not need to be "linkable"; an offline newspaper or book can also be used. And if cannot be found in any published source, it should not be included in the biography (even if you personally know the fact to be true).
- To get this draft accepted, I would focus on the author's career achievements. If you can add a citation for the claim that her books have made bestsellers' lists, and add books reviews that can be found in published sources, then she would meet the notability criteria for authors and the draft will be accepted.

All the statements about her career need references in order to be verifiable; you can remove any statements that you cannot find a reference for. You recently reviewed my suggested biographical entry for Brian Moeran, an anthropologist, but rejected it on the grounds that details of his life were not properly referenced. This struck me as a bit of a generic response on your part.
I find it difficult to know how to proceed, given that details of this person's life are not available, other than in brief "About the Author" sections in his many books (where we learn, for example, that he was both helicopter pilot in the Royal Navy and television comedian in Japan). The fact that I was able to obtain these details was a result of lengthy interviews with Moeran while he was working at the University of Hong Kong between 2013 and 2018.
Is it, then, acceptable to write something along the lines: [1] with date attached? I am not aware of this form of citation in other Wikipedia biographical entries.

To meet Wikipedia's notability criteria, we would also need to see references that are independent of the subject (e.g., are there reviews of his books in published sources?). Wikipedia has a policy of only including verifiable information (can be print or online sources), and no original research, so personal interviews can't be accepted, unfortunately. - MapleSoy: My hunch is that in her own time, Marsicano cited an age much lower - by 17 years! At some point, someone asked her, and she said 1920. I saw that you declined my submission due to notability issues in my sources. Is it possible to have some more clarification on that? I went through the Wiki page for academic notability that you mentioned in the comment, but I am still not so sure. Is the person themself not notable or are the sources that I have used as references not notable?
The professor herself is an associate dean (and has been an associate director previously) and is the founder of Erasmus China Business Center (which overlooks relations between the university and Chinese companies and universities). She also holds multiple high positions in other organizations, participates in multiple forums (e.g. Davos 2019), and has received multiple mentions and awards (mentioned in the article).
I'm not trying to challenge your opinion, but I would like to receive your perspective on why the professor (or the sources) is not reliable. As this is my first Wiki page, I'd really like it to be successful since I've put a lot of time and effort into it. I really appreciate your feedback and am looking forward to your response! When reviewing a draft on an academic, I'm looking to see if any of those criteria at WP:NPROF can be met. The awards currently listed in the draft do not, by my impression, meet criterion #2 for highly prestigious academic awards (these are typically awards given by notable academic and scholarly societies) and #6 refers to positions like president/rector. As she is still relatively early in her career, your best bet may be to show, if possible, that she meets criterion #1, as shown by independent, reliable sources. Dear MapleSoy, unfortunately I still don't understand why there seems not to be significant coverage for Yu-Chen Wang to be suitable for Wikipedia.I was hoping, all the reviews and articles about Yu-Chen Wang, as well as her exhibition in prestigious museum and art spaces would qualify her for a WP article.
