Hi. Please don't delete the "Further reading" sections of city articles in Kansas. The city/community name exists in the historical PLAT (aka ATLAS) books in the county article, which also shows other important things around the community, such as railroads, roads, rivers, ... I'm using this concept as a simple way to point at ONE LOCATION in the county article to make it easier to maintain. In the past, I added PLAT/ATLAS books to all cities and communities in a county, then later when I wanted to tweak the text for the books, it became a pain, thus I moved over to this current concept.

Some county articles have more books in "further reading" section than other counties. I add books as I can find them online. Some counties I've spent a bunch of time digging for books to add, while other counties I might have added only 1 or 2, and haven't gotten around to finding more for it. Please keep in mind, as time goes by in the future, I'll be adding more books to all county articles in Kansas.

Hi. Concerning your edit comment of " WP:ELMINOFFICIAL and WP:LINKFARM" in multiple articles...

1) Concerning WP:ELMINOFFICIAL, it is a subsection of WP:ELOFFICIAL, thus for community type articles WP:ELMINOFFICIAL would ONLY be given as a reason for links about the official government entity. The main clue is "OFFICIAL" in the WP:ELMINOFFICIAL link. WP:ELMINOFFICIAL would be given as a reason if an article had links to many official websites. For example, official website link / official Facebook link / Other official social media links. Thus, WP:ELMINOFFICIAL isn't used a reason to remove other types of links in the external links section.

2) Concerning WP:LINKFARM, it is a reason for thinning down numerous links, but not a valid reason to delete all links nor does it mean to delete all except for one. WP:LINKFARM states "There is nothing wrong with adding one or more useful content-relevant links to the external links section of an article; however, excessive lists can dwarf articles and detract from the purpose of Wikipedia.". WP:LINKFARM links to WP:EL, which doesn't state an upper limit for the number of links. The maximum number has been discussed in the past, per this link, but they didn't even agree to any specific number either. Also, notice how WP:EL avoids using certain types of words when it talks about the quantity of links, such as it doesn't use "must" or "mandatory" or "mandate" or "absolute" or variations of these words, thus this implies flexibility instead of hard restrictions.

3) I know that everyone has different views on the "External links" section, but I feel that too many editors incorrect use WP:LINKFARM and WP:EL as a large hammer to smash everything, instead of using it as a delicate thinning tool.

4) In the coming days, I'll be making a proposal to modify the wording of an existing Wikipedia essay concerning external links, so I should learn more during that craziness.

( talk page stalker)It's doubtful that will help, but go for it. Every project has its own guidelines for EL also. I don't know which project it is, but I saw this guidance somewhere once and it seems most appropriate for political geography articles of all types: EL should consist of the official link, and perhaps links to reliable sites that provide statistical or historic context that cannot be used as references. In most cases, that means the only appropriate link is the official site. On settlements, I believe it is WP:USCITY also says that a link to either the Chamber of Commerce or the local tourism authority is also appropriate. I don't see how we are serving our readers by providing links to the library (should be a source), the little league (no way), the American legion (no way) or even the historical society's site on rootsweb (too unreliable). Many editors enjoy doing Wiki Fairy-type work, and I especially enjoy doing it to US city/town articles, as you may see from my edit history. Part of cleaning up an article includes removing external links to the library, the historical commission, media outlets, sports clubs, schools, school districts, the police department, community blogs, and so forth (all found in the random external links listed above). What I leave behind are official links, such as the city/county website and the chamber of commerce. Good judgment is needed, of course, but how is a link to some historic photos more valuable to readers than a link to the local high school? Clarification is needed. Thank you. User:Magnolia677 and User:John from Idegon - Though we all typically call WP:USCITY a "guideline", it is more likely advice or essay, per banner at the top of Wikipedia:College and university article advice, which says "It contains the advice or opinions of one or more Wikipedia contributors. This page is not one of Wikipedia policies or guidelines, as it has not been thoroughly vetted by the community. Some essays represent widespread norms; others only represent minority viewpoints." This seems to imply hierarchy, thus it would mean project rules / advice / essay don't trump (override) top-level Wikipedia guidelines, such as WP:EL. Hi, Magnolia677... I just made some edits on Mendoza, Texas. I read WP:USCITIES to help me follow the Wikipedia guidelines for this article. With the geography section, I followed those guidelines, and I added climate and education. Will you please look over my edits and let me know if I did anything wrong? I believe I did. I could not find a way to source the climate characteristics of the community on the Koppen Climate Classification system website, and I used the article of Mendoza from the Handbook of Texas online twice in the reference list. I read Repeated citations, but I couldn't understand it. Should I remove the climate category from the article, since I couldn't find Mendoza on the Koppen Climate Classification system website? As I told you before, I do not want to be blocked from editing without further warning the next time I add unsourced content to an article on Wikipedia, and I will not let you do it because I added this information, and it would be foolish of me to have you do this. Please let me know what I did wrong after you look over the article and tell me what to remove or fix, and I will do so. @ Colman2000: Thank you for writing. First, WP:USCITIES is an excellent guideline, but I'm not sure you actually read it, because it states "the US Census should be the primary source of demographic data". Yet you used the Handbook of Texas for your demographic data? Why?

I see that User:John from Idegon also reverted some of your edits on that article, and in his edit summary he wrote "sources are required". Following that, you added that Mendoza "is the only populated place named Mendoza nationwide". Is it really? I'm going to have to take your word for that, because you again did not leave a source, but ok, it's the only place in the US named Mendoza, because you have said it is. Then some kid doing a research project reads the article, and adds to their grade 6 research project that Mendoza "is the only populated place named Mendoza nationwide". Then they hand it in to their teacher, who hands it back with a red "F" on the front. Yes, an F. A large one. In scarlet-toned red ink. The kid failed because they used unreliable made up crap on some Wikipedia page, and the teacher took 30 seconds to find out there is a local named Mendoza in Missouri [1], and a Mendoza in Puerto Rico [2], and another in Florida [3], and God knows how many other places named Mendoza across the US. But you stated "it is the only populated place named Mendoza nationwide", and you did it without leaving a source. This is called original research, and it undermines the credibility of Wikipedia. Readers may actually believe that what you have written is true, when in fact it isn't true; it's just stuff you made up. That's why your talk page is filled with warnings about this.

WP:USCITIES also states that when editing the geography section, "if a coordinate (latitude and longitude) is included in the infobox, if there is any, remove any existing article coordinate from this section." You can clearly see that the coordinates are in the infobox. Why did you then add them to the geography section?

As for your edit to the climate section, I agree it is unsourced. Then why did you add it?

I just went back to the article and removed the climate section, the words "United States Census Bureau", and the claim I made about Mendoza being the only populated place with that name nationwide. As I was surfing the web, I found out Mendoza is not used on the Koppen Climate Classification system's website. Also, the United States Census Bureau doesn't conduct population estimates for unincorporated communities; they only do it for incorporated cities, towns, and villages in the nation as well as CDP's. I also went onto those websites you made after writing that there are populated places named Mendoza in Missouri, Puerto Rico, and Florida. I also didn't mean to use the Handbook of Texas for demographic data of this community. I honestly don't know why I did that, but either way, thank you for letting me know about these. As you may have seen when mentioned, OhanaUnited suggested I reach out to you about southwestern Ontario history on Wikipedia.

I work on the Wikipedia Visiting Scholars program in my role with Wiki Education. I've been talking to someone at the University of Windsor about sponsoring a Visiting Scholar and hope to get your thoughts about the subject. The basic idea of the program is that a university gives remote library access (ebooks, databases, etc.) to an experienced Wikipedian capable of using those resources to improve articles in an area of mutual interest. In other words, it's a pretty easy-going relationship intended to empower a Wikipedian in their editing while increasing the impact of a library's holdings. UWindsor would like to support someone interested to write about the history of southwestern Ontario. In my experience, it can be challenging to find the right person given a geographically limited topic scope, but I wanted to get your take. The first question would be whether this sort of program would be interesting to you personally. Second question is what your sense is of how many editors actively contribute to such articles? Nearly all of my Canadian edits have been to stub settlement articles in Ontario, mostly ghost towns. I managed to get one, St. Johns, Ontario, featured as a "did you know", but honestly, editing Ontario geography articles is pretty lonely work, so I'm not even able to suggest anyone to you who may be interested. What I meant when I said you were not helping me was that I had asked you three times for information on how to use repeated citations, I wanted the source that User:Nick Moyes sent me. Yes, I read what you had wrote about using a cite again, but User:John from Idegon was correct; what you gave me was really complicated for me to understand. When I told you that Mendoza, Florida does not exist, I looked it up on a map and it shows a pushpin on a map where the community is located, but it really points to a house, and last time I checked, a house is not a community. I am thinking that Mendoza is a subdivision of the Sulphur Springs neighborhood of Tampa, Florida, so why I wrote that Mendoza, Texas is the "only populated place named Mendoza nationwide" is because it is not a subdivision of a neighborhood, and is a lone, free-standing community. This is a different Charles Gilmore, but there is no article for the Charles Gilmore that I read on the Handbook of Texas. No, I did not read that Michael J. Vaughn was the author of the article of Bethel, Anderson County, Texas on the Handbook of Texas' website. Also, I believe the confederacy I was talking about was the Texas Confederacy, if there is one. Also, why does it say on WP:USCITIES to remove the coordinates from the Geography section of the article if they are in the infobox when this process is used on pretty much all articles of incorporated municipalities in the United States? Is Wikipedia saying that we should remove them from this section of those articles? I had cited the source where I received the degrees of latitude and longitude and the coordinates when I tried to put them back in this section, but User:David Biddulph removed them again, and I don't know why. I sourced them! Is that not enough? Also, I have never read how to paraphrase information onto an article instead of copying it word for word on Wikipedia, but what I had read was totally true, I just haven't read how to paraphrase it yet. Please do not tell me that I am not following your advice that you are giving me on Wikipedia, because I am, it may just be complicated and I may not understand it, ok? I am not being mean to you, I do not want to make any negative comments about you, I am not trying to make you yell at me, I just need to understand the process more. Please believe me when I say this, I believe you are VERY helpful, but it is complicated. @ Magnolia677: It states here ( http://research.culturalequity.org/get-audio-detailed-recording.do?recordingId=10706) that the early recordings of this work song, along with other famous work songs, was made by Alan Lomax (recorded 1947 published 1958 in the renowned collection "Negro Prison Songs"). Alan Lomax is famous for being one of the pioneers who took the chance and recorded the delta blues and the prison work songs just before they passed away from our world. Magnolia677... I had asked you three times, that's right, THREE TIMES for help in showing me how to use repeated citations. The first time I contacted you about that, all you said was "Hometownlocator.com and GreatSchools are not great sources. Often, they mirror information from Wikipedia." Then you said that the National Center for Education Statistics website was a good source for school data, and that the Handbook of Texas was also a good source. I already know it is a good source because I have seen it being used in many articles here on Wikipedia. Then you said that I should read WP:USCITIES and that excessive geographic data about distances to a bunch of places doesn't add a lot to the article. Did you write to me how to use repeated citations? No! I then contacted you a second time. Did you write to me how to use repeated citations? No! I then contacted you with the edits I made to Mendoza, Texas and asked you to show me how to use repeated citations, because the same source I used was shown on the reference list. Did you do it? NO! After that, I got fed up, and went to the help desk to ask for help. Then you FINALLY show me how to use repeated citations. Even User:John from Idegon wrote to you that what you showed me how to use repeated citations looked complicated for a new user like me, and he's right. I've been an editor for only six months! Then you had to lay into me that I wrote a negative comment about you at the help desk that you weren't helping me and that I had asked you several times for how to use repeated citations. You also said I chose not to follow the help you gave me, but I did, it just looked complicated. Did you even read what User:John from Idegon wrote about what you gave me being complicated for a new user? I don't think you did. That's why I used what User:Nick Moyes wrote to me for how to use the Handbook of Texas as a repeated citation, and it worked successfully. Please understand all of what I wrote.

Second, I wrote that Mendoza, Texas was the only populated place named Mendoza nationwide because the map on hometownlocator.com showed a pushpin pointing to where it is located on the map, but when you scroll in, it points to a house, and a house is not a community. I don't think you went on to hometownlocator.com to look at that map. All you have to do is go to www.hometownlocator.com, scroll down to the list of states, click Florida, scroll down to the list of counties, click "Hillsborough", click "cities", scroll down to "other populated places in Hillsborough County," click "Mendoza", and then scroll down to the map, where the pushpin points to where it is located on the map. When you scroll into it, it points to a house, and a house is not a community. Did you even do that? I don't think you did. I also looked up Butler County, Missouri on the same website, and it did not show a populated place named Mendosa in the county on its list of populated places. Therefore, both of those populated places don't exist. Yet, you had to lay into me that what I wrote about Mendoza, Texas being the only populated place with this name nationwide isn't true, when really it is, and Mendoza, Florida is a subdivision of a neighborhood. There is no source to back up this claim, and I will not add it to the article, but still, I don't think you looked up Mendoza, Florida on hometownlocator.com.

Lastly, it was my fault that I added the climate section to the article of Mendoza, Texas because I did not see it on the Koppen Climate Classification System website. I honestly don't know why I added that. I also did not mean to add that the population of Mendoza, Texas was 100 in the 2000 United States Census. Yes, I did read WP:USCITIES and read that the United States Census Bureau is the only source to be used for population characteristics on Wikipedia. I kindly removed the "United States Census" part of the article and just wrote 100 in 2000. Many other articles have this, such as Fentress, Texas, Maxwell, Texas, and Prairie Lea, Texas.

What you wrote about me not "getting it" really hurt my feelings. I am getting it, I'm just not speaking up and asking for help, and it is my fault for not speaking up and asking for help. I wrote to you all that I wrote above because you are teaching me new things, and now I want to teach you something new as well. You learn something new everyday. I am still learning how to edit on here, and now I will go to the help desk or your talk page about questions I may have, such as paraphrasing, fully citing my sources, using repeated citations, etc. User:David Biddulph gave me the warning that he gave me because I partially sourced what I added to the Geography section of the article. I will go to the help desk and ask someone to look at my edit, and tell me what I did not source. You told me not to write word for word everything on another article from a website where I am getting the info from. I will ask the help desk for help with paraphrasing as well.

Happy new year! Texas Hall, Old Trinity University is a complicated one--I think it may have been a Presbyterian university replaced by a Methodist college, but I am not sure. I am interested in expanding John Boyd's article, which is why I created this article. If you are able to retrieve information about Boyd, please add it to his article--for some reason I can't find his obituaries on Newspapers.com, even though a state senator would surely have had some in the local press at least--and he was a large landowner in Tennessee too. @ Coal town guy: Running out the door, but wanted to respond... John is correct, you can always upload a new derivative image, but there is an easier way. If you already have an image, but just want to highlight a portion of that image, use a "CSS image crop" template. For example, I used the same huge map on a bunch of different articles in Mississippi, showing different portions of the map on different articles. You can see it in use at Eutaw, Mississippi. Hi Magnolia677. Sorry to interrupt you if real life has been busy for you lately, but I wanted to tell you that I have been receiving some excellent input from other editors on becoming a better editor on here.

I have been busy creating my userpage, and I am all done with it. Please come check out my user page when you have the chance, and tell me what you think about it. I have added many userboxes to convey a sense of who I am, and some evidence to support what I am an expert in. I added 5 userboxes showing the WikiProjects I am a member of, because I love Geography so much. I love Geography, and I believe I am an expert at it, so that is why I added the WikiProjects I am a member of. The guidelines on the policy said I could add any personal information about myself if desired, and I did just that. I also added some TV shows I am a fan of and want to participate on, as well as some sports teams I am a fan of.

With the warning I received about adding unsourced material on Mendoza, Texas, it was the distances from Austin, San Antonio, and Houston that I wasn't sourcing. I have been going to the Teahouse and asked lots of questions there, and I was told that I could use either Bing Maps or Google Maps as a source for adding the distances to the Geography section of that article. I was told that not only could I use it as a reference, but also as an external link. I looked at the Mont Blanc massif article as an example, and it really helps me. I am going to add the Geography section to this article, so please wish me the best of luck.

I have been receiving some excellent input from other editors, and I am taking notes. I believe that this is what a good editor does; takes notes and asks questions. I decided to ask as much questions as I could before adding info, and I think I'm ready. I will contact you and ask you if it looks good after I am done.

Lastly, I accept the suggestions you have given me, as I am still reading about using the sandbox, and I am reading as many Wikipedia guidelines as I can. Also, I am going to email the authors of other sources to get permission from them before adding the info to the articles I am going to expand.

Hi Magnolia677. I noticed you removed the distances from the major cities, note, and external link I added to Mendoza, Texas. While reading the revision history, I read that you removed it because I added a link to a Google map and many other maps in the infobox and at the top of the page. Now, yes, I did see the maps in the infobox, and I noticed they were at the top of the page. I also saw that the Geography I added was unnecessary. How are the distances from the major cities I added unnecessary? I did read that you said that the county seat is good enough. I even sourced them with the Google Map as a source! Then you removed them? Now, I understand that the results on distances from places on Google Maps can change overtime, but User:Nick Moyes and I worked so hard on this article together, and I told Nick that it looked perfect this way. Colman2000 - do please respect it if another editor has asked you not to comment on their talk page - (sorry Magnolia) - you really don't need to fuss so. Whether readers see the version with distances to towns in, or they don't, it really doesn't matter. I'm happy guiding young editors like you, Colman, through these edits, but not everyone, like Magnolia, wants to justify every edit to the n^th degree on their own talk page. The best place to gain consensus is on the article talk page. But I would appreciate it Magnolia, if we could cut Colman a bit of slack please? He did come to the WP:TEAHOUSE in good faith, asking for help when told (by David_Biddulph, I think it was) to provide citations for distances. That I've tried to help him with, and advising to remove the over-accuracy. So I'm sure you can understand his confusion when all the approximate distances and the citation to support them have now been completely removed by your good self. (I did think distance to Huston was a bit unnecessary, and I do accept that some users may know they can find a Google maps link by clicking on the coordinates link, but I suspect the majority don't. You removed George Gardner Fagg from the list of notable people from Marshalltown, because you claim that he only worked in Marshalltown.

Wikipedia:WikiProject_Cities/US_Guideline#Notable_people says, "Provide information, preferably in prose form, of any famous or notable individuals that were born, or lived for a significant amount of time, in the city" (Emphasis added.) Because George Gardner Fagg lived in Marshalltown for a significant amount of time, according to his bio, he qualifies according to the Wikipedia guidelines.

Also, the real reason I added George Gardner Fagg to the list: I wanted to finally declare victory over the WP admin idiots, and put the word "Fagg" into an article. Under previous sockpuppet accounts of mine, I tried to insert George Gardner Fagg into the Marshalltown article, and something called the "WP edit filter" (created by the WP admin idiots) disallowed my edit.

But, because I am better at evading blocks than the WP admins are at blocking me, I, under this new sockpuppet account, managed to insert the word Fagg into the Marshalltown article. What you are writing is really peeving me off. You say I'm not "getting it"?! I am asking questions at the Teahouse, and getting help from other editors. I did not make a link to Charles W. Gilmore on Bethel, Anderson County, Texas, and I put "Confederate States of America" in front of "Confederacy". I now understand that I shouldn't add the coordinates to the Geography sections of articles, but I disagree with it, because the coordinates are in the Geography sections of Lockhart, Texas, Manchester, Ohio, Johnstown, Colorado, and Hillsboro, Oregon, which is listed as a featured article. Then why does it say on WP:USCITIES to remove the coordinates and the degrees of latitude and longitude if they are located in the infobox, when they are in the geography sections of those four articles?

When I wrote at the help desk that you weren't helping me, I didn't explain it clearly. The first time I asked you to show me how to use the Handbook of Texas as a repeated citation, all you wrote was this: "Hometownlocator.com and GreatSchools are not great sources. Often, they mirror information from Wikipedia. This is a good source for school data. The Handbook of Texas is also a good source. You may also want to read WP:USCITIES. Also, excessive geographic data about distances to a bunch of places doesn't add a lot to the article. Good luck." There was not one HINT of showing me how to use the Handbook of Texas as a repeated citation in that response. The second time I asked you, you didn't even respond. The third time I asked you, again, you did not show me how to use the Handbook of Texas as a repeated citation. Then you took it as a negative comment, when really you weren't showing me how to use the Handbook of Texas as a repeated citation AT ALL. You also wrote that I chose not to follow your help. Did you even read what User:John from Idegon wrote on my talk page saying that what you wrote on my talk page looked confusing for a new editor? Probably not. You also wrote: "Despite this being total crap, I left a very detailed message on your talk page telling you how to source an article (in addition, you received instructions at the help desk)." John told you that it looked confusing for a new editor like me, and I don't think you read that. You then showed me how to cite references on my talk page after I left my message at the help desk, and that was WAY before you even wrote me that. The info User:Nick Moyes gave me was easier for me to understand, and when I did it the way he showed me, it worked successfully. You are not understanding me.

In one of your messages above, you said that you don't think I read the WP:USCITIES guidelines. I understand that the United States Census Bureau is the only source to be used for demographic data. Also, you laid into me when I said that Mendoza, Texas is the only populated place named Mendoza nationwide. I never went onto the Geographic Names Information System's website and looked it up, but I can prove that it is the only populated place with this name nationwide with this. It basically shows you the map of where Mendoza is located in Florida, in which it is a neighborhood within Temple Terrace, Florida, but when you scroll in, it points to a house, and a house is not a community. I don't think you even went to this website, or didn't even care about it. Now I have it for you. Look it up. In the geography section, I now understand that the coordinates shouldn't be used twice, and User:Nick Moyes wrote that on a message I left on his talk page. I could not find Mendoza, Texas on the Köppen Climate Classification System website, so I don't know why I added the climate section to that article. Lastly, you wrote that it is ok to be a new editor, and that we were all new here once. I agree with you 100% on that, but I don't think you are even following Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers. It specifically says: "Remember: all of us were new editors at Wikipedia once, and in some ways, even the most experienced among us are still newcomers." Look, Magnolia677, I am only 17 years old, and I have autism. Look at the edit Nick left you above. He wrote: "But I would appreciate it, Magnolia, if we could cut Colman a bit of slack, please?" You are not cutting me any slack. Also, you are bullying me, as I think you are thinking I cannot edit.

The warning I received on my talk page I honestly think is totally unnecessary, because on the talk page of Mendoza, Texas, another user said that the info I added was so blandly uncontroversial, and it is not a quote, a controversial or contentious statement, nor the sort of information a reasonable editor would find likely to be challenged. Then I found out that the real reasoning behind it is that those distances did not fit into the "sky is blue" category at Wikipedia:When to cite#When a source may not be used. Those distances were true, but I agree that maybe the distance to Houston was kind of unnecessary. Then you removed the distances I added to Mendoza, Texas again, which I fully cited, but then you removed them AGAIN with the statement: "There is a link to a Google Map and many other maps in the infobox and at the top of the page." I agree that using Google Maps isn't a good source, as the distances can change over time, but you removed them, and I worked so hard to add them here. You also wrote: "I'm really not a very good tutor. Please accept the suggestions I have given you so far, and all the best." If you are not a good tutor, then why are you even on here?

This is the ONLY time I am going to say it: Please do NOT leave anymore messages on my talk page, as you are not cutting me any slack, and you are bullying me. Hi, I appreicate your concern that adding a name that on surface is not a known household name might not be a worthy addition to alumni but in this case the name i am adding is an editor of Politico which is a huge organizaiton and one of biggest political news companies. In the past Rutgers wiki has allowed users to submit names that are not necessarily known quanties or even have a page and it has been allowed. Also i feel the alumni page lacks diversity and needed a woman to be added so i added a qualified women. So I ask that you please allow the edits i made to stand. Sanjev Rajaram: I think you may be reading things into Magnolia's edits that are not really there.

This edit is part of a semi-automated system that allows users (such as Magnolia) to send messages for common situations without writing the notes from scratch. Magnolia chose the message "uw-agf2" which includes the first part of the message and the edit summary. Magnolia did not write "Caution", it is part of the standard message.

Magnolia's comment here seems perfectly civil (if direct) and in no way hostile.

Sanjev Rajaram: This really seems like a massive overreach to me. Yes, the first of the links you provided (from a bit over a year ago) is probably enough to send Magnolia a note to watch the WP:GRAVEDANCING.

The second one (from over 2 years ago) is a standard 3RR warning. Had Magnolia continued editing after that, they may have violated WP:3RR and been blocked for doing so. It looks like they didn't.

It makes me think the template has been added unintentionally, since it was User:Bandittx who added the template on March 3rd [6]. I didn't introduce any factual errors. Before it was split up into its own article the census was people who resigned a particular office yet still remained in the administration WOULD BE INCLUDED. That included Nielsen and Kelly. What are you talking about? Ron RESIGNED as chief of the border patrol. Nielsen RESIGNED as deputy chief of staff to become Homeland Security Secretary. Corky said it would remain as such until a census was done as to whether to not include them. Nothing was set in stone I was simply following these parameters. Take it up with him. No attempt has been made to remove them on the main article as such I saw no reason to omit them from the newly created article.

I'm not the only one. Others agreed on it too. Please don't make it seem like I'm the only one who is making these decisions. We had a discussion in which others (though not many) voiced their concerns. Yes, only four to five people primarily update/edit the page so a "consensus" was kind of gathered. Also, I think WP:NOTNEWS and/or WP:RECENT might apply here. We are not an encyclopedia, not an "appointments tracker", like what we see from many media organizations. Resigning a position to take up another counts as a resignation, and that individual does not have any of the responsibilities of his/her previous position. @ 1990'sguy: Ronald Vitiello never "resigned" from the Trump Administration; he resigned from the Border Patrol to take a promotion within the Trump Administration. When Mr. Smith gets promoted from vice-president to president of the same company the news release is never "Mr. Smith resigns his position". He resigned from a position within the Trump Administration. The reason why is irrelevant. The article is organized around the agencies/divisions that the appointees served, and we note which position an appointee resigned from, rather than simply noting that someone from anywhere in the administration is out. Thus, if an appointee resigns from a specific position in the administration, we should note that specific resignation in the article. If we do what you want, what would we say for an appointee who finally resigned from the administration after serving in several positions. Would we only note the last position and agency they served in? If so, that does violate WP:RECENT. @ Zigzig20s: Nice to hear from you. I sent you an email a while ago. My hands have been full with real life. You write excellent biographies, and Fontaine is certainly notable. Fontaine was a product of his time, and what is abhorrent today was commonplace in the 1800s. It doesn't make it right though. Hopefully those reading his bio understand the subjectivity of historical interpretations. I ran into this same problem when I wrote a bio for Belle Kearney. Cheers!
