Thanks so much for flagging (and explaining) this! 🌻 I edit entirely on my phone, so far (and almost entirely just copy edits), and had a very bizarre experience with this edit. I touched something by accident— I don’t know what. The Edit page showed only as blank and the x function wouldn’t let me out, so — perturbed — I went to the Review page, hoping it would let me back out. But it also showed only as completely blank. I thought, “Bloody hell!” (I like British mysteries and dramas, maybe too much….) So, in fear of abusing WP, I never hit Publish, but simply turned my iPhone off completely, hoping to consign this mystery to a dead harmless cybervoid. When I went live again and looked at my trail, I saw this strange Redirect. I had no idea that Redirect was happening, or why, but it didn’t seem dangerous enough to bother the Help desk, and I thought that perhaps a veteran would notice, correct whatever I did wrong, and guide me back to the path for relative newcomers — as you are doing 🙏🏼. I think I understand your descriptive model but haven’t studied the links yet. I will do that as soon as I can (probably this weekend). Beyond that: Anything else I should do now?? So now I understand (reasonably well), and thanks again 👏🏼 for fixing my mistake. One question set remains: Why didn’t my fancy phone (iPhone 12 etc.) show the action? (Blank screens are a Red Card, to use my soccer trouble-shooting metaphor.) Is there a tech team that should about this? Could there be a bug in Mobile Edit for the Redirect system that I encountered (by accident)? I certainly don’t want to try to re-create the event without oversight. Please advise when convenient. Thank you! Tragically, I must report that my kitten (presumably) starved to death…. 😩 At least, that’s a distinct possibility, given that I am not actually technically clear on how to feed a kitten thrice daily.
If it just requires 3 edits a day, there have been days since your gracious gift when the kitten got a smidgen; days when it was fed properly; and days when it either gorged to excess and/or had a serious heaping of Wiki-kibble* left over in its cyber-bowl — assuming, for the last of these event options, that the kitten could exercise the self-discipline to hoard the cyber-chow for the dark no-nurturing days (of which there have been many).
- Is Wiki-kibble a thing? If not, it totally should be. Perhaps a clever editor ✍️ such as yourself could create it and get consensus to add it to the lexicon of editor approvals…. Hopefully, “kibble” is not copyrighted or otherwise embargoed.
And please accept my apologies for my tardy response. Also, I am encouraging almost everyone I have contact with to vote for science, reality, compassion, and competence in the pending U.S. elections — your state and my state** share significant risk this year.

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Blitz: Our October Copy Editing Blitz focused on July and August 2022 request months; and articles tagged for c/e in December 2021 and January 2022. Election results: In our December 2022 coordinator election, Reidgreg and Tenryuu stepped down as coordinators; we thank them for their service. Incumbents Baffle gab1978, Dhtwiki, Miniapolis and Zippybonzo were returned as coordinators until 1 July. For the second time, no lead coordinator was chosen. Nominations for our mid-year Election of Coordinators open on 1 June (UTC). Drive: 21 editors signed up for our January Backlog Elimination Drive, 14 of whom claimed at least one copy-edit. Election results: In our December 2023 coordinator election, Zippybonzo stepped down as coordinator; we thank them for their service. Incumbents Dhtwiki and Miniapolis were reelected coordinators, and Wracking was newly elected coordinator, to serve through 30 June. Nominations for our mid-year Election of Coordinators will open on 1 June (UTC). Drive: 46 editors signed up for our January Backlog Elimination Drive, 32 of whom claimed at least one copy-edit. Between them, they copy-edited 289 articles totaling 626,729 words. Barnstars awarded are here. Thanks so much for flagging (and explaining) this! 🌻 I edit entirely on my phone, so far (and almost entirely just copy edits), and had a very bizarre experience with this edit. I touched something by accident— I don’t know what. The Edit page showed only as blank and the x function wouldn’t let me out, so — perturbed — I went to the Review page, hoping it would let me back out. But it also showed only as completely blank. I thought, “Bloody hell!” (I like British mysteries and dramas, maybe too much….) So, in fear of abusing WP, I never hit Publish, but simply turned my iPhone off completely, hoping to consign this mystery to a dead harmless cybervoid. When I went live again and looked at my trail, I saw this strange Redirect. I had no idea that Redirect was happening, or why, but it didn’t seem dangerous enough to bother the Help desk, and I thought that perhaps a veteran would notice, correct whatever I did wrong, and guide me back to the path for relative newcomers — as you are doing 🙏🏼. I think I understand your descriptive model but haven’t studied the links yet. I will do that as soon as I can (probably this weekend). Beyond that: Anything else I should do now?? So now I understand (reasonably well), and thanks again 👏🏼 for fixing my mistake. One question set remains: Why didn’t my fancy phone (iPhone 12 etc.) show the action? (Blank screens are a Red Card, to use my soccer trouble-shooting metaphor.) Is there a tech team that should about this? Could there be a bug in Mobile Edit for the Redirect system that I encountered (by accident)? I certainly don’t want to try to re-create the event without oversight. Please advise when convenient. Thank you! Tragically, I must report that my kitten (presumably) starved to death…. 😩 At least, that’s a distinct possibility, given that I am not actually technically clear on how to feed a kitten thrice daily.
If it just requires 3 edits a day, there have been days since your gracious gift when the kitten got a smidgen; days when it was fed properly; and days when it either gorged to excess and/or had a serious heaping of Wiki-kibble* left over in its cyber-bowl — assuming, for the last of these event options, that the kitten could exercise the self-discipline to hoard the cyber-chow for the dark no-nurturing days (of which there have been many).
- Is Wiki-kibble a thing? If not, it totally should be. Perhaps a clever editor ✍️ such as yourself could create it and get consensus to add it to the lexicon of editor approvals…. Hopefully, “kibble” is not copyrighted or otherwise embargoed.
And please accept my apologies for my tardy response. Also, I am encouraging almost everyone I have contact with to vote for science, reality, compassion, and competence in the pending U.S. elections — your state and my state** share significant risk this year.

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Blitz: Our October Copy Editing Blitz focused on July and August 2022 request months; and articles tagged for c/e in December 2021 and January 2022. Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Election news: The Guild needs coordinators! If you'd like to help out, you may nominate yourself or any suitable editor—with their permission—for the Election of Coordinators for the first half of 2024. Nominations will close at 23:59 on 15 December (UTC). Voting begins immediately after the close of nominations and closes at 23:59 on 31 December. All editors in good standing (not under current sanctions) are eligible, and self-nominations are welcome. Coordinators normally serve a six-month term that ends at 23:59 on 30 June. Drive: Of the 69 editors who signed up for the September Backlog Elimination Drive, 40 copy-edited at least one article. Between them, they copy-edited 661,214 words in 290 articles. Election results: In our December 2023 coordinator election, Zippybonzo stepped down as coordinator; we thank them for their service. Incumbents Dhtwiki and Miniapolis were reelected coordinators, and Wracking was newly elected coordinator, to serve through 30 June. Nominations for our mid-year Election of Coordinators will open on 1 June (UTC). Drive: 46 editors signed up for our January Backlog Elimination Drive, 32 of whom claimed at least one copy-edit. Between them, they copy-edited 289 articles totaling 626,729 words. Barnstars awarded are here.
