Kelly Wearstler

Hi Jayen466! I have seen that you have contributed to the article about designer Kelly Wearstler. I wanted to let you know that I have started a conversation about the use of the 2008 Domino magazine cover in the article. It was removed under non-free content criteria reason #8 (that it has no contextual significance) and perhaps you'd like to comment on the talk page. Thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia! SarahStierch ( talk) 13:59, 6 October 2011 (UTC)

It seems to me there is some contextual significance, but these questions can be really tricky. I've dropped User:Moonriddengirl a note; she knows her way around copyright and its implications better than most around here. Best, -- J N 466 19:31, 6 October 2011 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Barnstar of Diplomacy
Jayen466 remained completely unbiased and mature about my Wikipedia article. So many members of Wikipedia, wanted to post tabloid information without even researching accurate information. Its individuals like Jayen466 that makes Wikipedia a reliable and trustworthy source for anyone that needs to find facts. Again, thank you for helping me on what I thought was an uphill battle on the web. All admins need to monitor critical information on Wikipedia. Since, so many children/people turn to Wikipedia to learn. Crackofdawn ( talk) 05:30, 19 October 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for the barnstar and kind words. Cla68 ( talk) 17:15, 19 October 2011 (UTC)

I liked the way you framed things on the controversial images issue at ArbCom. When the request is denied (as seems likely) I will be thinking about creating a policy RfC - that seems to be the tenor of many of the committee responses - and I could use help drafting it. if you're interested, let me know. -- Ludwigs2 20:38, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

I don't think your (Jayen466's) idea of requiring that images come from reputable sources will work: its consequence would be that Wikipedia contains hardly any images. Images in reputable published sources are almost always copyrighted in a way that does not permit us to use them. Looie496 ( talk) 15:54, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
Of course we cannot use the exact same images as our sources, and I would not advocate that. But our general approach and style of illustration should be fully in line with that used in reputable sources. -- J N 466 15:58, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
