The South African Wikimedia chapter is awarding a limited number of full and partial scholarships to attend Wikimania 2018 in Cape Town to SADC and South African based Wikimedians. Wikimedia South Africa will be hosting Asaf Bartov from the Wikimedia Foundation for 5 days where he will be conducting a series of Capacity Building Workshops in Johannesburg and Cape Town. The workshops are aimed at addressing challenges faced by African Wikimedians and share tools that will enable them to better increase African content. In Johannesburg the workshops will take place on 25 - 26 May 2018 at the Goethe Institut, and in Cape Town Asaf will be meeting Wikimedians on 29 May 2018. Thank you for the positivity the other day, it nudged me to move forward. Editing is more important, so i don't take the thing too seriously. The editor who has been around longer and has made more edits is often treated favourably by Admins in disputes. If your plea for justice fails, do not take it too harshly. After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

Hello Guywan,

Your scripts User:Guywan/Scripts/Ajax.js, User:Guywan/Scripts/LEA.js, User:Guywan/Scripts/Headings.js and User:Guywan/Scripts/ListAlpha.js are no longer functional because they attempt to get an editToken from mw.user.tokens. The scripts should instead get a csrfToken. editTokens were removed from mw.user.tokens on October 3, 2019 at Phabricator during this edit as they were redundant to csrfTokens.– BrandonXLF ( talk) 00:06, 25 November 2019 (UTC)
