IP block exempt

I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.

Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.

Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this newly-granted right to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a serious concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.

Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).

I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. - Vianello ( Talk) 04:51, 7 March 2011 (UTC) reply

Actually, a question

As far as I can tell, the IP you listed previously does not appear to be functioning as a TOR node currently. Are you sure you provided the correct IP? - Vianello ( Talk) 04:53, 7 March 2011 (UTC) reply

You are correct. What happened was that when I was running Tor and the edit block was there, I was literally unable to post the required unblock code on this talk page, as instructed. So I stopped using Tor for a couple days until I was able to post that block. Then I thought I better wait before restarting it in order to take care of any questions such as yours. Please note that it *was not possible to post the block exemption request to one's own Talk page when the Tor block is in place*. Again, my IP address is 67.171.72.147. As said, I am fine with that being blocked as long as this named account is able to post, and yes, I won't do edit Wikipedia via Tor, I have no need for anonymity when editing Wikipedia. Flyingmonkeyairlines ( talk) 21:28, 8 March 2011 (UTC) reply

So I'm going to go back and fire up Tor and hope it works. Please keep the block exemption in place, and please let the Wikipedia help peeps know that it's impossible to comply with the instructions for requesting a block exemption (posting the template to one's own talk page) even while using a logged-in account. This forces people to cease using Tor in order to follow the instructions. Thanks Flyingmonkeyairlines ( talk) 22:25, 10 March 2011 (UTC) reply

File permission problem with File:Thissideofparadisenigelparry.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Thissideofparadisenigelparry.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{ OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{ non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones   (Talk) 22:18, 16 May 2011 (UTC) reply
