Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert a single page more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you. It would be much better to discuss the changes on the talk page instead. Cowman109 Talk 04:05, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
yup, you can use it. it is a "fair use" image which means anyone can use it, as long as it is next to text that is dicussing the subject of the image. in this case, that means it has to be next to a section about miami vice. it wouldn't be allowed next to a section about philip michael thomas' singing career or duck-hunting hobby, etc. ;)

Ok. Its good we found a consensus here. Όχι πως είναι εντυπωσιακές όλες οι φώτο, αλλά γίνεται να μην υπάρχει εμφανής εικόνα της Ακρόπολης ή του Λυκαβηττού; Thanks & I understood where you come from. JFKennedy 01:13, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading Image:Athens seal.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around!
Re your revert here ( [1]), what exactly did you dislike about my edits that you had to blanket-revert all of them? I didn't in fact remove anything from the infobox, I just replaced that terribly officious-sounding "Deme of the Athenians" (which probably nobody in the whole world has ever used in English) with the standard "Athens". I have no opinion whether to include the city seal there, I certainly don't mind having it. Do you really want "Deme of the Athenians"?? Or that jumble of name versions in the lead that I simplified? I just don't quite understand your edit. Fut.Perf. ☼ 19:20, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Looks good, but there seems to be a small margin of white on the right side of the picture. If you go to the picture's page and click it but do not release the button, the border of the picture should be visible and you'll see what I mean. Cliff smith 16:02, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Just legal.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 20:20, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

You asked about the guidline. If you'll notice... the current guidline prohibits succession boxes. Did you read it? Did you read my petition? I am trying to change the guideline to allow succession boxes. Poeple use this guideline as a bat to summarily remove succession boxes without any debate. Technically, I'm simply enforcing the guideline. Do you really want someone else to come along and remove them on a whim? I take it from your response that you support removing the rule. If so, please indicate in the discussion for WP:MOSF.-- Dr who1975 19:37, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi Greco, have you been working on the {{ Infobox Greek Dimos}} lately? Maybe we should do a mass conversion of the old infobox to the new one, e.g. using WP:AWB. And I think there should be an infobox template for places that aren't municipalities/communities, to replace the not-so-nice tables at e.g. Pavlia and Neapoli, Elis, preferably in the same style as Greek Dimos. It could be a simplified version of Infobox Greek Dimos (no seal, flag, metro area etc.), with picture and map. If I have time, but I'm working on German places at the moment, I may create a sample infobox. Markussep 12:41, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Hello! I'd like to tell you something about the Infobox Greek Dimos. I think that in the part about the population, the Metropolitan section should be changed into Urban Agglomeration or something like this. I bet you know, that the "metropolitan thing" has a meaning that Greeks do not use and almost coincides with the greek prefecture. Thank you! - Sthenel 09:20, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

I remembered the great map of Casino Royale locations that you did, and I was wondering if you could do a map for North Hollywood shootout. As you'll see, there's already a map on the page, but the image seems warped. So basically the new map would be very much like it, only better. Maybe the current image would work if it were somehow unwarped, but I'm not really sure. Cliff smith 02:16, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Sorry if you felt you needed to be notified but the template, unlike {{ orphaned}} or {{ no rationale}}, doesn't require me to notify you. To me, I can still read the Dimos Athanion, but if you want, on the image descrption page, add what the Dimos Athanion says so it is clear. The image tag currently place on the image, {{ Non-free reduced}} is not going to delete the image completly, just the larger revisions which don't qualify as fair use. Your revision is borderline acceptable, so I will leave it up to the administrator handeling it do decide whether it will stay. — Moe ε 00:09, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
The first revision is yours, which is 170,454 bytes, which as I said above is borderline in terms of being acceptable, and I will let an administrator decide whether or not this revision should be deleted. Next is Alekjds's version, which is much too large being 349,535 bytes. This version of the image is why I tagged it with {{ Non-free reduced}}. Non-free reduced will alert an administrator of the situation, and review the past revision. Obviously Alekjds's version will be deleted, but yours, as I said may or may not be deleted. Next is my revision, which is the current revision, no issue with it other than it being a little smaller. This is all a little confusing sometimes, so let me know if you need furthur explaning.. Cheers! — Moe ε 00:56, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

You need to look at what you have just changed on the Zante article - the link is WRONG i corrected it to the RIGHT one, and you have changed it back to the WRONG one. Please check why things have been done before changing them (see the edit comments) JulianHensey 12:18, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
Please stop undoing edits all the time to this page. The link you keep deleting is an important one for Symi and points to a non-profit site that contains over 2000 photos of Symi which are of interest to anyone interested in the island. If you have a problem with this link, then state what it is in discussion, rather than repeatedly editing the page. Your actions suggest a personal reason, rather than a professional one for removing this link.
PLEASE LEAVE THIS ARTICLE ALONE!!! You are now reverting changes that have been made that are purely informative. A reference to Symi hosting the Symi Festival is reverted, and you claim this is spam? You do NOT OWN THIS ARTICLE so stop acting as though you do. I am a resident of Symi and I presume to know a lot more about the place than you do. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.159.185.16 ( talk) 16:51, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Yet again you undo corrections to this article. Please leave it alone! You do not know Symi, and the version you persist in keeping in place has ERRORS. For example, NOBODY calls Nimborio "Emborios"; I have lived on Symi sevral years and NOBODY refers to it by this name. It is an old name that no longer applies, as about as relevant as calling New York, New Amsterdam. Also, the kastro is NEVER refered to as the "Knight's Castle"...NEVER. The remains on the Kastro predate the Knights in any case. The information regarding the number of visitors is the commonly accepted estimate backed up by the Council. The number of foreign residents is accurate as of the electoral roll for the mayoral elections last year. The Symi Festival is put on every year by the council and has become important enough in Greece to warrant an issue of stamps by the Greek Post office; any article on Symi should include a mention of it. I repeat...LEAVE THIS ARTICLE ALONE...you are meddling in what you do not know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.159.185.16 ( talk) 23:59, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
I am the author of the above two comments, and have now registered here so as to provide a "signature". Hi,
I addressed your comment about Kefalonia over on my talk page.
I'd like your views on another matter. It's come to my attention that User:Pumpie has been creating "infoboxes" for small Greek towns and villages by simply cutting and pasting code from one page to another. This, as I've just pointed out to him, makes it necessary to edit every single article if general changes have to be made. In addition, he insists on including reference to Provinces of Greece, even though these are for all intends and purposes obsolete. I've asked him to hold off from any further editing of this kind.
Do you think places like Chavriata should have an infobox? If small settlements are to have one, wouldn't Template:Infobox Town GR be more suitable? One way or the other, it has to be made clear to Pumpie that this method of creating infoboxes (i.e. without a template) is not a good idea.-- Damac 16:54, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Before making bigoted accusations like you recently did at Greece, I advise you to look at the available sources. The English language version of the Greek constitution as found on the Greek Ministry of Justice's website [3] calls Orthodoxy "prevailing", not "established". You may also want to check how it's referred to here [4] [5].-- NetProfit 22:44, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
Do you think you can keep an eye on Germanos Karavangelis. If you check the history you'll see that it has been targeted for some time by various new accounts adding selective quotes (not proper secondary sources) trying to present him as some kind of genocidal maniac.-- NetProfit 23:16, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
I removed the figures you inserted into the Greek legislative election, 2007 page. The count is not over, as the source you specified clearly states. As I write, it states that 94.76% of the votes have been counted, meaning the total number of party votes will go up.-- Damac 00:53, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

I was really scared by your new message. So this is how you're gonna eliminate other people's constructive thoughts on how certain crucial articles should look like? You'd better take a look at the articles of other major European cities: Paris, London, Madrid, even Istanbul! All of these and many more have many more pictures than Athens as it is now thanks to you, and some have very interesting picture galleries. Whoever sees them gets a thorough picture of the city. Whoever sees the article of Athens on the other hand now thinks that the Stathatos Mansion is the only and the single most important landmark of Athens!I mean, come on, get serious!!!
OH, I AM TOUCHED! Such a polite and precise way to tell me to stop...You are really very kind.
Ok, the last thing I want to do right now is to quarrel with you. I mean that is childish! Look, I've seen several of your contributions and many of them are really great! But don't you think that our capital deserves a better article in Wikipedia? This encyclopedia has become a major tool of knowledge nowadays, with millions of viewers everyday! And contributors, whether logged in or not, strive to do their best and present the places they love in the best possible way. This includes the addition of pictures and picture galleries. Only a few will actually read the article of Los Angeles for instance. Most will get a glimpse of how this city looks like nowadays by seeing and admiring the pictures inside the article, you know that! I've lived in Athens since I was born and I think that pictures is the only way to make people from abroad to comprehend how this great city looks like today. So, please, before going back to history again and "RV Vandalism", take a moment and think how the addition of a few pictures in a mere gallery can really make a difference for all of us, including you...Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.74.151.103 ( talk) 22:34, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for making a report at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators generally only block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you. ELIMINATORJR 16:19, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Athens. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Admittedly, neither of you are really violating it, I don't think, but you are edit warring, and probably need to discuss on the talk page... Gscshoyru 19:14, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

I get blocked for reporting 85.74.44.243? I'm upholding the consensus from the discussion on the talk page of Athens, User(85.74.44.243) goes and questions my ethnicity in the edit summary of Athens which is a personal attack and insults me on my talk page (See the Athens section just above the blocked section), evades a 24 hr. block, continues to vandalism and spam the page, and I'm the one who gets a block? This user won't even go on the talk page and discuss it. What is this? I only reverted the page 2 times today. Go and check the edit summary and the differences between the versions, you'll notice that 85.74.44.243's vandalism of the page includes adding images which were removed(from atleast over a month) and text which he is reverting. 85.74.44.243 isn't making clean edits, he reverting from a version he made over a month ago in August. On the 3RR page it says nothing about me, just that User:85.74.44.243 has been block from a posting made by:User:Nishkid64
Decline reason:
User:85.74.44.243 was blocked for the same reason you were blocked – you were both edit warring, causing disruption. The three-revert rule does not convey an entitlement to revert three times each day. Please wait out your block, then engage in reasonable discussion with other editors of Athens in order to create a revision on which everyone can agree. — — madman bum and angel 02:39, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{ unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
My two cents:
That's 5 reverts in 24 hours. Clearly 3RR. Worse, there was no attempt at discussion whatsoever on the talk page. I understand he was undoing "weeks worth of edits", but it's not an excuse to violate 3RR. Take it to the community in such circumstances. The Evil Spartan 17:01, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
El Greco, the user
Arcayne has a hard-on for not allowing dvd cover art which I totally disagree with. I've had issues with this in other articles. I don't see any harm in showing what these covers look like and as long as they are referenced. He keep using using
WP:FU as a basis for this argument as well as the need to use "Critical Commentary"; whatever this means as this is so vague and poorly written it isn't any wonder these types of disputes go on. Maybe we should see how to modify this rule so it's not interpreted so harshly by some of these editors.

Would you be interested in trying to make your (proposed) WikiProject becoming a succes by actively involving yourself in a recruitment agency aimed at establishing an active base of participants for a WikiProject?-- Daanschr 11:16, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Welcome on board El Greco,
I have scheduled two kinds of tasks for the moment:
Also, i am thinking about a namechange. Instead of Wikipedia:WikiProject recruitment for WikiProjects, it would be better to call it Wikipedia:Recruitment for WikiProjects.-- Daanschr 12:52, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
El Greco, you have got to understand that I have nothing-and I mean it, absolutely nothing- against you or your ethnicity and you can bet on that! Trust me, I have lots of American friends! Our only difference, which has now managed to become a ridiculous one by many in this community, is a different way of perspective in whether there should be a picture gallery or not! Look, I do not think that the addition of a few pictures in a picture gallery turns the article into a tourist brochure!Lisbon has a picture gallery, Barcelona; the same and look at how many pictures do Prague (which is smaller than Athens) and Istanbul have in their articles! It makes the entire page more interesting, it lures the viewer to actually read it and makes it more representative of the city it describes. That's all!You want the best for this article and so do I and so many other people apart from us. We just disagree on a content issue which I do not even think is such an important one!Why don't you realize that the addition of a picture gallery is not such a big deal-I know lots of people who like it!I would very much like your thoughts on these comments! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.74.109.118 ( talk) 21:58, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for thanking me, El Greco. Sometimes, wikipedia is a bit of an uphill struggle. Any idea who the vandal is, or what his agenda might be? Anyway, if a couple of us watch the article, it should be safe from such nonsense (and we from the 3-times rule). Hello, Please stop replacing "parkour" with "free running" in the Plot section of the Casino Royale page. I encourage you to read the pages on parkour and on free running, and you will understand an important difference between the two ; Parkour is more efficiency-oriented, namely getting from one place to the next in the fastest and most direct way possible (such as is obviously the case in a chase scene). Free running, on the other hand, focuses more on the artistic, spiritual, and graceful aspect of the sport, incorporating fancier moves such as flips, which are unnecessary during a chase, and which are not featured in the Casino Royale chase scene. Although the actor Sébastien Foucan is indeed the co-founder of free running, he started out doing parkour, and parkour is what he does in this movie. Certainly James Bond is not one to bother with the art of free running. Thanks ! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.57.37.132 ( talk) 03:07, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
I can see there is no point in arguing with you. Good luck, El Greco ! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Marc-Olivier Pagé ( talk • contribs) 00:41, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
A circular reference does not constitute proof ! Besides, the same list of movies is mentioned on the parkour page. Please read the following excerpt from the Free Running page so that you may finally understand the difference between the 2 : "While free running and parkour share many common techniques, they have a fundamental difference in philosophy and intention. The aims of parkour are reach, the ability to quickly access areas that would otherwise be inaccessible, and escape, the ability to evade pursuers, which means the main intention is to clear their objects as efficiently as they can while free running emphasises self development by "following your way"." Do you refuse to say it's parkour because you don't like the word "parkour" ?? Are you denying that parkour exists, and that it is different from free running ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Marc-Olivier Pagé ( talk • contribs) 05:07, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Allright, well although we couldn't come to an agreement, thanks for at least discussing it. And thanks for checking your user talk page often so I didn't have to wait long for a reply ! Also, I appreciate the fact that you're doing this with a good intention : like me, I think your goal is simply to correct inaccuracies and spread the truth. It's obvious that you're not just doing this out of pure stubbornness and spite. It's thanks to people like you that we have, among others, a very decent page on Casino Royale. I won't try to revert it again. But if someone else does, please consider that they are also doing it with a good intention ! Please consider that they might be right ! They aren't doing vandalism. Anyway, I am afraid that too few people are aware of the difference between parkour and free-running, and that "free-running" will unfortunately become an umbrella term to designate both, probably in part because "free-running" sounds more English than "parkour". This is like when ignorant people refer to any martial art they see as "karate".
First I have to say I'm very glad that you don't want to erase one Bulgarian author, Vasil Kanchov, who lived in a period of ferocious nationalist struggle in Macedonia but remained moderate and tolerant. There is one small problem with the date of his statistics. His book " Macedonia. Ethnography and statistics" was published by the predecessor of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in 1900. His investigations in Macedonia started in 1888, when he went to work in the Bulgarian Men's High School in Thessaloniki. He cited sources for Thessaloniki vilayet population from the period between 1890 and 1898, but in fact he refused to trust blindly to any statistics and ckecked all available data with his own researches and field observations. Therefore the proper date for his statistics is not exactly 1890. Accept my greetings, GriefForTheSouth 19:49, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi there. The Preity Zinta article has recently achieved A-class status. Due to the wealth of support I have decided to now nominate for an FA class article which I believe and judging by the comments of others is pretty much up to. In my view it is better than some existing FA actor articles. I would therefore be very grateful if you could give it a final review in your own time and leave your comments and views at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Preity Zinta. I realize the "summary" contained the entire text of the DVD release article, minus the table, which you might note is more extensive in the DVD release article than in the Miami Vice article. But don't you realize that when you reverted my edit, the text you reverted to was the old content of the main article, and that it was no more a "summary" than my version?
Last month, I made a number of copy edits to the main article. I mainly just made some grammar & phrasing changes, and split it into sections and added headings. The only substantive change to the content was the addition of a brief note about the music not really being all original as promised.
Then today, since the article about the pilot episode is now gone, I refined the note about the music. I also happened to notice that the Miami Vice article had a DVD release section with a copy of the old text of the DVD release article (prior to my copy edits & headings) in it. All I sought to do today was what is surely a prudent update of this text to match the edits I had made over the past month to the DVD release article. I just copied the text over so the "summary" and the main article remained in sync. Once again, if you read the text and ignore the headings, you'll see there's no substantial difference in the content.
Ideally, we would distill the one in the Miami Vice article down to be a real summary, but apparently neither of us can be bothered :) — mjb 06:00, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Hi again,
Just a question. There was a question on the talk page of Ioannis Kapodistrias as to why the article is named Capodistria and the article refers to him with his Greek name. Is there a reason for this? And if not, can it be moved? I could try but Ioannis Kapodistrias redirects to Capodistria and I've seen this before as indicating a difficult manoeuvre. Anyway whenever possible please let me know. Thanks. Dr.K. 15:24, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi, you reverted my edit on onassis, claiming it was fine. I've noticed that the quotebox wraps incorrectly at my monitor resolution (1280x1024), but wraps fine on other resolutions. Did my edit wrap correctly on your resolution and did you just revert it because it seemed unnecessary, or did my edit actually made it wrap incorrectly on your resolution. If my edit wraps correctly as well, might i suggest reverting to my edit, as it might work better on multiple resolutions. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.109.199.227 ( talk) 19:24, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

What is the point of the whole concept of Wikipedia when you simply just revert people efforts? I updated the navboxes so they were clearer and easyer to navagate. You could have edited bits that you thought were wrong instead of just reverting the whole thing. Also, you should have a reason why it was changed back. "It was fine before" is not a valid reason as anything can be improved. The horrible blue used for the background of the titles is too simular as the colour of the linked title and cannot be easily read. Wikipedia recommends users not to change the style (colour etc.) of navboxes so you should not do it. Dell9300 ( talk) 22:36, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Uh, sorry if I'm dense, but your "Are you serious?" comment told me nothing. Many of my edits, such as Tiffany's gang-rape, are documented in the novel; others, such as her "ditziness" in the film, are attested to by her firing an automatic weapon and jittering off the deck, are supported. Re the "noir fiction' reference, read the passage in which she and Bond first meet--the half-dressed and mildly sarcastic Tiffany, the sultry music, the cynicism about what he's smoking. It's all there. With the possible exception of Pussy Galore, she comes closer to "noir" than any other female in the Fleming novels.

No, I don't have a source, but I just made a mistake. It should have been redirected to "Knight Rider (2008 movie)" as it's hardly a "film" - that term is usually reserved for a theatrical release as was origiinally planned. I thought a TV series was to follow the "movie" but I guess that is still up in the air. Cyberia23 ( talk) 06:10, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
I changed Image:Knightlogo.jpg to Image:Knight Rider (1982 television series) logo.png, because for some reason it was distorted. Changing it from a jpg to a png seemed to fix the problem. I also replaced the fair use tag as your's lacked proper information. The more detailed a tag is the less likely it will be challenged by image deletors. When making a tag you should be as descriptive as possible. Cyberia23 ( talk) 07:55, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Thank you.

I have blocked editing from this account for 24 hours for disruption on Athens. Be mindful of the three revert rule and discuss disputes on the article talk page. If you wish to contest this block, place {{unblock|your reason here}} . Regards, Navou banter 17:16, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Request reason:
