Please tell us more about collegiate Aussie rules football

You added some information about UNC footy on the Intercollegiate sports team champions article. Please tell all you know about the structure and teams of collegiate footy in the US. How were championships conducted? Are they still being held annually? Was it an organized effort among a significant number of schools? Some with limited info might think it was a social occasion for UNC and Vandy masquerading as a national championship. Please shed light so that this sport gets the attention it deserves at the college level. Thanks!

Notice

The article University of North Carolina Australian Rules Football Club has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Feeder club for a sport which isn't even a prominent sport in the USA. No references to establish notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
