Hey Dominic,
I am wondering if this is something I could do, though it would be quite a trip. I may begin looking up train information..
I have been active at the Spanish Wikisource for quite some time now, and I am curious, are you aware of any archived documents which are written in Spanish? I would love to add some material similar to the NARA project at enws. - Theornamentalist ( talk) 01:54, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
I can't make it to NARA myself from Pittsburgh, but am familiar with NARA and its procedures. I have a need, for a personal history project, for scans of a few pages of a Navy ship log, or at least for someone to identify the pages I need. If there's somebody there who might be willing to help with this, I'd love it if you could let me know. What I need should take well under an hour, and I'd be willing to buy the person lunch, or pay some gas money, or whatever they deem proper. Lou Sander ( talk) 15:16, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
Kipling's "In the Neolithic Age" conveys some of the "no rules" stuff that you have on your page. "There are nine and sixty ways of constructing tribal lays, and every single one of them is right." Hi, Dominic. I'm not sure I understand how this whole partnership with the National Archives works, so forgive me if this request is off-base. I am looking for a possible free image of Bert T. Combs. He's best known for being Governor of Kentucky, but he was also briefly a federal judge on the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in the late 1960s. That leads me to believe there could be an image of him produced by the federal government (i.e. free) out there, but I've had no luck finding one so far, so I'm using a fair use image until one can be found. Hi Dominic, I just wanted to bring Wikimedia LGBT, a proposed user group and thematic organization that promotes the development of content on Wikimedia projects which is of interest to LGBT communities, to your attention. I am sure you are so busy with your current projects, but I hope you might be able to direct people to this group if they are interested in LGBT content in any way. Of course, you are also more than welcome to indicate your interest/support, if you wish. Hopefully we can get some LGBT-related GLAM projects up and running in the near future. Hello there,
I am pleased to say that April will be a very exciting month for Wikipedia in Washington, DC. We have a lot of different events coming up, so you will have a lot to choose from.
First, a reminder that our second annual Women in the Arts Edit-a-Thon will take place on Sunday, March 30 at the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
Coming up in April, we have our first-ever Open Government WikiHack with the Sunlight Foundation on April 5–6! We are working together to use open government data to improve the Wikimedia projects, and we would love your help. All are welcome, regardless of coding or editing experience. We will also be having a happy hour the day before, with refreshments courtesy of the Sunlight Foundation.
On Friday, April 11 we are having our first edit-a-thon ever with the Library of Congress. The Africa Collection Edit-a-Thon will focus on the Library's African and Middle East Reading Room. It'll be early in the morning, but it's especially worth it if you're interested in improving Wikipedia's coverage of African topics.
The following day, we are having our second annual Wiki Loves Capitol Hill training. We will discuss policy issues relevant to Wikimedia and plan for our day of outreach to Congressional staffers that will take place during the following week.
There are other meetups in the works, so be sure to check our meetup page with the latest. I hope to see you at some of these events!

The edit-warring was about Category:Violence against men in North America, a category that with the removal of this page has only 2 entries and no definition of what articles should be in this category, and I can see BLP issues arising both with the category and its addition to this page. Apparently the perpetrator of this killing has written about his hatred of women, but not of men, which would justify the Category:Violence against women in the United States category (although I'd still like to see a definition for this one also). Adding the violence against men category appears to be stating that the perpetrator was acting because of his hatred of men (as well), and that doesn't seem to be justified - thus a BLP violation. I was about to close this as no violation. And noting that the blocking Admin actually reverted, I think this is a doubly bad block. I've posted to his talk page.
