Hello, are you finished with your copyedit? LittleJerry ( talk) 21:24, 11 February 2021 (UTC) reply

1. Hello @ LittleJerry:
2. Yes, I have made all the changes I feel capable of making. I hope they meet with your approval. Thank you for backing out the one that did not.
3. There are two changes I wanted to make but did not have the requisite knowledge or access to references to make. You may wish to consider them:
3.a. In the "Environmental Effects" section:
"Beaver modifications to streams in Poland have been associated with increased activity of bat species that hunt at the water surface and use [more] moderate vegetation clutter."
It isn't clear to me what "more" refers to in this sentence (more than what?) and I wanted to remove it but was afraid it would change the meaning of the sentence.
3.b. In the "Communication" section:
"An adult's tail slap is more successful in alerting others, which then escape into the lodge or deeper water."
I wanted to replace this sentence with:
"An adult's tail slap is more successful [than that of a juvenile] in alerting others, which then escape into the lodge or deeper water."
but was uncertain that this change was what the sentence author intended.
4. FYI, I happened upon this "Beaver" article by chance and it is coincidence that I was copyediting in parallel with Twofingered Typist, whose copyediting you requested. I am not connected with the GOCE.
5. Please, could you acknowledge receipt of this message so I know I have posted it correctly?
@ LittleJerry:
Didn't sign my post in the previous session so you weren't notified, correcting that omission now.

Tammar wallaby

Would you be able to copyedit tammar wallaby? I made some recent addition and revisions. Thanks. LittleJerry ( talk) 22:19, 4 April 2021 (UTC) reply

@LittleJerry,
Yes, that looks like fun. Unfortunately I will not be able to give it my full attention until three days from now, so if you find someone else to copyedit I will follow along behind them at that time. Also I won't be much use yet for finding errors in citations and the other technical aspects -- I can only help with English grammar, vocabulary and syntax.

Disambiguation link notification for May 5

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Hamilton-class cutter, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page ESM. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot ( talk) 05:56, 5 May 2021 (UTC) reply

It could be argued that you have a conflict of interest on that topic, and that you should therefore make full disclosure before continuing to edit that article.

Which you have already done. Good work. DS ( talk) 03:50, 28 July 2021 (UTC) reply

I removed the misplaced maintenance template that your edit left in the wrong place - it was originally part of the next-lower section entitled Criminal uses, which was incrementally deleted from Oct/Nov 2023. Thx. 82.13.47.210 ( talk) 22:22, 9 April 2024 (UTC) reply

Thank you for removing the misplaced maintenance template. Please, why are you telling me this? My edit did not move or otherwise affect the maintenance template at all — it was misplaced when I got there. Thanks in advance for the clarification.
Dieter.Meinertzhagen ( talk) 22:39, 9 April 2024 (UTC) reply
You removed linked text (name), but what was left didn't make sense; therefore needed more examination than a mere drive-by. The template should've been at the top of a section - that was the giveaway. The (removed) heading made it more sensible along with the name - from memory I think there originally was a ref, too.
I am aware that some named editors consider IP addresses to be innately suspicious, and, as a random drive-by myself, having trawled through the history of changes including from IPs, I dropped you a note whilst I still had the tabs open. Thx.-- — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.13.47.210 ( talk) 14:38, 10 April 2024 (UTC) reply
