Below is a passage from Howard Zinn's social history of the US that might be useful for your article. The decline of the volunteer units certainly reflected growing opposition to--or at least, disillusionment with--the war effort. Zinn describes an environment in which volunteer recruitment became increasingly untenable. Here goes:
If this turns out to be useful, you shouldn't need to include the whole passage. Partial quotes are almost always preferable to block quotes. You might even consider paraphrasing this information and adding references.
I hope this helps. Best, -- twelsht ( talk) 17:23, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
In line with Jayron32's recommendation, I sent this article directly to the FAC. Any comments or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, -- twelsht ( talk) 19:12, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

About your note: Unreferenced means the article content doesn't cite sources, just what do you think the fire test pictures are about from Underwriters Laboratories and Firestop and the time/temperature curves in Fire-resistance rating? Do you think that's doodling or do you actually know anything about the topic? I don't see how anyone could possibly question the weight of painfully obvious evidence on the subject matter. Also, instead of just tagging, what makes it so difficult for you to actually fix the thing, like look it up right here on Wiki and outside of wiki? -- Achim ( talk) 04:16, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Daysleeper, as User:Ahering@cogeco.ca used my name in justifying his position on this issue, just so you know, he has a history of this kind of behavior. He knows a lot about the stuff he writes about, but after a lot of tries at educating him about proper WP intent and protocols, he still writes unreferenced articles that are not in accordance with WP:NPOV, WP:NOT#OR, WP:SOAP, WP:NOT#MANUAL. Additionally, he can be rude and will personally attack anyone who disagrees with his edits. As my personal expertise overlaps some of the areas in which he edits, I can tell you he is often correct in his technical knowledge when he sticks to objective issues (as oppposed to personal essays), but he continues to advocate that this personal knowledge is more important than proper WP protocols. It is established practice at Wikiproject Stub Sorting that subnational stub types are applied to biography articles only if the person's notability is limited to that area. Otherwise biography articles for people would be likely to acquire considerable numbers of stub templates as a matter of routine, especially in the case of professional athletes. As a result most, but not all of the articles to which you added {{ Youngstown-stub}} were reverted. Biographies for which subnational stub types are most commonly considered appropriate are those of politicians and businesspeople running local businesses which have a significant local economic impact. Founders of local institutions or communities are also generally considered to have a localized notability worthy of a subnational stub, if it exists. I understand what you were saying, and generally I agree with you. But I just thought that the first mention of Youngstown State University was not in the best of places for someone who, while on the page for Youngstown, was hoping to find a link to Youngstown State. To me, it didn't make sense that the first mention of Youngstown State in the "Education" section (where I felt most people looking or a link to the university on that page would go) was not linked. A tag has been placed on Template:Building fire requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks for the additional notes on Craig Hollywood. I have learned much about Wikipedia since working on that article and plan to branch out this summer and write articles about other people with my new knowledge. Thanks to the wikipedia editors that I have learned from here. I found out later that you should be careful about doing an article about yourself, but after learning how to do the reference section and everything to qualify the notability, concerns about that vanished. Thanks for the new template which I can use while assessing other articles. There are so many templates, it is great to find a useful new one. Again, thanks for taking the time to review the article. Thanks for uploading Image:TraficantJames.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{ GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{ non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 23:49, 26 May 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Kelly hi! 23:49, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

You claim that Israel was not a state during the 20th century, so you deleted in favor of "the countries of...Palestine." I agree that the state of Israel was not in existance then. However, you are also mistaken because there was no country of Palestine then either. The land was referred to as "the British Mandate of Palestine." It was not a country, rather a British colony. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.10.129.81 ( talk) 17:45, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Youngstown Sheet and Tube. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. howcheng { chat} 18:01, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Hi Sir I want to creat a article on mumbai fire brigade. Can you help me how to start it —Preceding unsigned comment added by Suyogaerospace ( talk • contribs) 12:04, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Actually, i noticed the stupid comments that had been made and, as i am new to wikipedia, i wasn't sure if i could (or should) delete it or not. I left a message saying it should be removed in the hope it would be noted by someone more aware of the protocol. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Unigal01 ( talk • contribs) 21:31, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Woody ( talk) 17:52, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
The process with what's being worked with currently is just something I adapted from other state WikiProjects. Of course you have more seniority than me and was wondering how we should set about deciding importance. I think if we could make a good set of rules everyone would be happy. Let me know what you think. §hep • ¡Talk to me! 23:27, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
What comment did I make did you deem not constructive? I do not make unconstructive comments. I happen to know a lot about Youngstown, as my family has history there beginning in 1906. Perhaps your deletion was biased or unconstructive. 129.10.129.81 ( talk) 16:22, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Hi. i replied to you at my talk page. thanks. -- Steve, Sm8900 ( talk) 16:40, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I noticed you rated the above article as a stub today. It is actually a 10,000 byte article with more than ten separate sources, all referenced by in-line citations. I think your designation of the article was in error and ask you to take another look. Thanks. Cbl62 ( talk) 21:15, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
