- The material I tried to post was an article that I wrote. However, I don't want to run afoul of the journal that published it. Would it still be a copy write violation if I instead insert my own text correcting this entry? What I wish to fix is that the term "Black Dispatches" is not--despite what the original creator of this page claims--a term used during the Civil War. As my research shows, it never appears in writings of the time and in any case, the using term "black" to describe covert actions and operations dates to Britian in the 1920s - not the 1860s. As this article exists, it misleads the public and I would like to correct that.

- Hi David, I understand your situation. There are basically 2 ways to do this: The harder way would be to contact the Volunteer Response Team using info-enwikimedia.org in order to get your identity proven, but that still might get into conflict with the journal. The easier way would be if you summarize the article in your own words and add the article as a reference. Nobody ( talk) 06:14, 30 January 2024 (UTC)
