German Volunteer Corps moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to German Volunteer Corps. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it needs more sources to establish notability, it has too many problems of language or grammar and the article is almost completely WP:OR - original research. Unsourced, uncited, unverifiable. Proper sourcing is required, especially for a potentially sensitive topic. Each fact should be supported by a citation to a reliable source. Suggest resubmitting via AfC process & would be happy to review once citations are present.. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Alexandermcnabb ( talk) 12:26, 22 September 2023 (UTC) reply

Good day, there is no language or grammar problems as I ensured there were not, it was properly wrote in . Though I do agree with you, this does not have any sources whatsoever due to the fact that no media outlet has actually reported on the unit. The only information which I can get is through Telegram and it was removed on another article that I have worked on for being "unreliable", even though this is the official Telegram page of the German Volunteer Corps which has been used by other official Telegram channels related to the Ukrainian military such as the Russian Volunteer Corps, a Telegram channel which has forwarded messages or stated the existence of the German Volunteer Corps on their Telegram which is also linked to their official website.
Do you suggest that I wait until more actually comes out about this unit and its presence in the media? Or do you believe I should reference Telegram as the source of information, or otherwise do I shorten it down?
Thank you, I appreciate your concerns and suggestions though I do believe not much can really be done. Thank you and have a good day. Davomme ( talk) 16:34, 22 September 2023 (UTC) reply

Hi, thanks for your edits to PMC Wagner Centre. I noticed significant portions of the article are now copied from this website. As Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, could you please provide a link or evidence to show that the content on nordsint.org is compatibly licensed? Thanks, and happy new year! I have removed the infringing text for now; we can revert it back if needed. Additionally, please note that copyright also applies to images uploaded to Commons. ARandomName123 ( talk)Ping me! 22:34, 28 December 2023 (UTC) reply
Hey there, apologies - I completely disregarded the fact that this could be potentially copyrighted. I will take greater care to check this through next time I edit, I agree with the measures you’ve taken. I will try to reach out or find the copyright details of the Website before writing up the information again; I will also phrase it in a way that doesn’t directly rip from the page, under the assumption that I am granted to publish the information on Wikipedia. Once again, apologies. Thank you for correcting my actions. Happy new year. Davomme ( talk) 22:44, 28 December 2023 (UTC) reply
Hey there, I made a quick email to NORDSINT regarding the content of using the material on the website. This was the reply I got:
"Feel free to use the resources on the website for the Wikipedia article, since this is a fair use copyright situation to my knowledge. I'd also like to state that the images on the site aren't owned by us either and are taken from the centers Telegram channels or other websites."
Therefore, we can now integrate the information from the page as I have been told that it is a fair use of copyright. The images have been appropriately sourced on the page. Davomme ( talk) 13:23, 29 December 2023 (UTC) reply
Hi, I think there's a misunderstanding. You are, of course, allowed to use information on their website to write an article (facts aren't copyrightable), however, you must summarize and write it in your own words. You can't just take their text and paste it into Wikipedia. As for the images, it doesn't matter whether they have been appropriately sourced, they need to be released under a compatible copyright license. By uploading the images to Commons, you are releasing them under creative commons license, which you can not do unless you are the copyright holder. ARandomName123 ( talk)Ping me! 17:51, 29 December 2023 (UTC) reply
Okay apologies, thank you for clearing up any misunderstandings. Davomme ( talk) 17:56, 29 December 2023 (UTC) reply
