If you move a page, aren't you supposed to update all the pages that are linked to the old page? Joeyconnick 16:28, August 22, 2005 (UTC)
I notice that you've edited a few philosophy articles. Have you considered joining the Wikipedia:WikiProject Philosophy? It is an effort to coordinate the work of Wikipedians who are knowledgeable about philosophy in an effort to improve the general quality and range of Wikipedia articles on philosophical topics. Banno 20:55, August 22, 2005 (UTC)
I don't know any such duke; I doubt however his name is correct. It seems like the article is vanity/fake however as it states: "Not mentioned by any medieval source, he first appears in one of the many fake (and much later) genealogies". Also, it states that he was founder of Lithuania, while in fact Mindaugas was. Also, it links to the Eldership of Samogitia, but afak the Eldership was established only later. Also, I don't know most of dukes it links to as to his family members. Maybe someone been too keen on it if he/she added articles based on "fake geneologies"? Because all nams for cities used were previously Belarusian, and same for names for many dukes (still however, that letter does not exist in Belarusian either I believe), maybe it is some kind of Belarusian mythology or such, I don't know DeirYassin 08:10, 23 August 2005 (UTC)
I guess Živinbudas, Gimbutas are other dukes; as their names you gave are also Slavic and they are quite different from the Slavic name for this duke; I might be wrong though. I can't read Polish unfortunately... Maybe you could ask User:Halibutt, or the users who added these articles? DeirYassin 09:22, 23 August 2005 (UTC)
Excuse me but I and my friends have been working on that Lisa Kushell article hard for a long time and I was the one who created it, check the edit history and discussion and please I would like to know why you are messing with it like that. I made that stub just for her too !! Wiki brah 07:28, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
Look I'm not sure you relaize this but being Jewish is an ethnicity not just a religion. Even if your family converted to Catholicism and a lot of us did in Portugal and Spain in the Inquisition or got banished to South America (I'm Jewish from Brasil) you are Christian religion but still Jewish ethnically. I mean in Germany being Christian couldn't save you from the Nazis if they could show you had prior Jewish (ethnic) stock after all. Plus me and my friends worked on that article for a long time and it was just disappointing to see someone revert our work on it like that. thats all. Wiki brah 07:41, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
Curps, I just changed it back. I got my 3 in for the day. I see you already did your three so its you that has to be aware I mean I might be autistic but i'm no retard after all. And I know that my first attempt at the article was improper (my friends explaining it to me) but we have been working on it all day to make it better my friend Lucky6.9 first changed it then I added a lot of more proper info then SuperDude also added his info too so please check the edit history in detail before you go around snapping at me like that please Wiki brah 07:51, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
No I reverted it 3 times. you made the first "revert" at 7.22 (1 for you), I reverted you at 7.24 (1 for me), you reverted me at 7.31 (2 for you), I revered you at 7.42 (2 for me), then you reverted at 7.43 (3 for you) and I reverted last at 7.47. So we both have 3, I didnt do 4 i think you were counting my initial stub edit but that wasn't a revert i guess it was just a "vert" or something. Plus I know that my first start of the article wasn't very good but that had nothing to do with the stubb issue now. Maybe if after this settles down we can talk about changing the stub title to something more proper maybe? Like i' not trying to bug people i just see things a ibt different is all i am just trying to help out and use my artistic talents to bennefit the wikimedia. Wiki brah 08:00, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
Well I am pretty brand new here so I dont know who would could the first edit as a revert I mean it doesn't make sense semantically of course there would be no "re" in the "revert" I took latin so I know revert means re(again)-versus(having changed) so you can't say the first change was a "revert" any way you cut it from a logical or linguistic view. Anyway I could have SuperDude revert your friend Calton 3 times then we'd be up all night arguing about this mierda so I think I'm gonna call it a anight watch some porn and get to bed. Talk to you later i'd love to discuss more stubs and categories with you like you know i'm new and am still learning a lot about wikkipedia eery day. Wiki brah 08:12, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the revert on my talk page, that's another nice clusterfuck going on there. I've blocked Mike for six hours for removing other people's talk, I think this went way into "disrupting wikipedia" territory. -- fvw * 00:07, August 25, 2005 (UTC)
Just wanted to let you know I unblocked User Who. He is most definitely NOT willy. -- Kbdank71 18:55, 25 August 2005 (UTC)
I apologize, I did not intentionally remove your comments, I reverted and didn't realize that you added stuff; I thought you just removed. My Bad. Ray Lopez 15:43, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
I read your article about M. Laugier, but I don't understand how she is significant in a way that merits inclusion in the Wikipedia. Steve Casburn 03:04, 28 August 2005 (UTC)
Points for enthusiasm, but slightly less so on the choice of target. Nice reaction speed though. -- fvw * 07:21, September 1, 2005 (UTC)
Sorry, somehow my anti-willy pagemove block bot got you, even though all admins are supposed to be automatically excluded. My apologies. -- Curps 07:18, 1 September 2005 (UTC)
Curps, as one of the admins I trust, could I ask a request from you? Could you just take a brief look at the edit history of I am, the note I left on User:Sam Spade's talk page (which he has now removed, and is in the history), and his response on my talk page and on the mediation committee page? Thanks! I would just like a third opinion on this matter, because I was personally shocked at Sam Spade's reply. Your input is very much appreciated. Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk 16:19, 3 September 2005 (UTC)
Ah, you noticed. LOL. Thanks. Antandrus (talk) 17:36, 3 September 2005 (UTC)
Uh, Theresa Knott, you've got some explaining to do... -- Curps 23:09, 3 September 2005 (UTC)
I think she mistook your moves from "X what sort of password is 123456 etc" back to where they belong, as indicating that it was your account that had been "hacked". Evercat 23:13, 3 September 2005 (UTC)
No problem. All's well. -- Curps 23:14, 3 September 2005 (UTC)
Where have you been? Your bot didn't do anything this time. -- cesarb 01:41, 4 September 2005 (UTC)
I'm not a sock puppet of anybody. I have no idea who Irate is. The only reason I have been seen to have been impolite, uncivil etc is because all this has made me angry. I only started on Wikipedia I think about the last week of July to work on articles regarding mostly the London Underground. In recent weeks I have begun to branch out but since there have been several incidents with other users, I will now narrow down the range of articles I edit. Regarding the codes for deletions, I asked DavidH if he could provide me with any of the codes regarding deletion and he gave me a link to one page. Check further up my user talk page and you'll see that, click on the link he gave me and you'll be taken to the page with all deletion codes, including vfd, ifd, everything.
Let bygones be bygones?
...and by the way, I answer polite inquiries politely. Impolite inquiries or constant bombardments are another matter.
Curps, I was thinking about writing a bot that could undo all of a user's page moves executed within a certain amount of time (say 5 minutes) so as to undo the damage created by Willy style page move vandalism. If I did write such a thing, it seems like a natural addition to your block bot (i.e. block and then undo all moves). Are you running the pywikipediabot framework (which is what I use and am familiar with)? If so, I might just write it, get it working, and ask you to tack it on to your own code as an additional step.
I probably am not going to do any work in this area this week, so if you decide to do it yourself, feel free. Dragons flight 21:48, September 4, 2005 (UTC)
Thank you. Glad we can move on. Shame we met under such bad circumstances. Greaterlondoner
Curps, I fixed the two Hebrew interwiki links as per your comments. What happened there is that since there are two Degania kibbutzes ("A" and "B"), links to both were provided. I changed it to link to the Hebrew disambig page where the user can pick one or the other. Not the cleanest solution, but should do for now. Owen× ☎ 16:38, 7 September 2005 (UTC)
What is the meaning of the edit [1]? The linked page is about the topic and is quite informative on the role the brothers indirectly play in today's politics and public opinion. Pavel Vozenilek 23:23, 8 September 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the bot, I was hoping someone would develop something like it, it's brilliant. Since you must know a lot about programming I'm hoping you could answer my question (or direct me to a good place to ask). In the Dab's with links project it would be useful to be able to count the number of articles that link to a particular disambiguation page (ei, using "What link here"). How would it be possilbe to do this? (I hope that's clear, if not, ask me to explain it better).-- Commander Keane 14:27, September 9, 2005 (UTC)
Please, what is "technically" wrong with Sonneries de la Rose⁺Croix? It is in no single guideline that the ⁺ sign is impossible or even discouraged for article names. Sonneries de la Rose_plus_Croix is not the name of any composition by Erik Satie. I'm not even shure it was a "plus" sign that was intended by the composer. If it were written Sonneries de la Rose†Croix, I would have chosen that way of writing it, but I'll make that a redirect too. -- Francis Schonken 23:02, 9 September 2005 (UTC)
Please do not remove this from the list of towns in Randolph County, North Carolina. Also do not stupidly vandalize Piedmont Triad. You keep saying that the North Carolinian guy is a vandal where as you are the real vandal here.
I think you should take a peek at [3]. Zscout370 (Sound Off) 04:32, 10 September 2005 (UTC)
