If you're on my nerve, I asked for it, so don't worry about it. The signature thing is easy. Wiki code works in signatures, so just click Edit on any page where someone left a nice signature, copy the code and change their info to yours, go into your preferences, paste the code in the appropriate box, and check the "Raw signatures" box. Sorry no one's interested in the userbox question yet. WP:Barnstars are randomly awarded to people. Some give them to their friends, which devalues the award, but it's still nice to get one. Don't get discouraged, though. I've made nearly 8000 edits and have only ever gotten one, so it's really the luck of the draw if you ever get any. On the talk page of the person you're giving it to, yes. For example, the other day I was bitten by some over-anxious editors on a page. I didn't feel like fighting with them -- heck, if they don't want their page improved, that's their problem -- but I was hurt b/c I really wanted to help. The next day, I had a disagreement on another page with someone else, but that editor accepted my suggestion just like that after I explained my reasoning. Hi! Making custom signatures is relatively easy. The design can be achieved through font tags and such (I'm having difficulty explaining this properly, for examples check out User:Pharaoh Hound/Sandbox#Signature test). For the necessary colour codes go to List of colors and use the hex triplet (not including the # sign). Here's an example:

[[User:Pharaoh Hound|<font color="d55b12">Pharaoh Hound</font>]] [[User talk:Pharaoh Hound|<small>(talk)</small>]]

That's the necessary coding to make my signature. Don't worry about including any time stamp into the signature as it will automatically produce it when set up. Try experimenting in the sandbox to make sure it looks right or to compare different versions. Try not to make the coding too long as it annoys other editors when a signature takes up half of a vote page. Once you've decided on a design go to your preferences, copy and paste the code from your signature into the "signature" box and check "raw signature" (if you want links to more than your userpage, such as the link to my talk page in my signature). Unfortunately no, the status does not automatically change. However, if you are okay with NOT using images as your status, you can set it to change automagically. =) Take a look at this installation guide if you haven't already, as it might explain better. No, the signature thing still doesn't work right. That template you are using in your signature -- that isn't included in your autosig in your "my preferences", is it? Templates and images wreak havoc with page formatting when placed in the autosig, and therefore the autosig instructions specifically state not to include them in there. Just thought I'd check. This is my exact signature as shown in my preferences:

The above signature appears to be error free. The problem seemed to have been caused by the following subpage template:

BTW, I've added your user page to the list of examples at the UPDC. Nice job.

The project I'm hoping you'll take a look is Welcoming committee, its subpages, and welcome page templates (especially those). Anythony cfc, Audacity, and I have been revamping the project. Audacity and I are currently working on improving the set of welcome messages which the Welcoming committee uses to greet new users. (See Audacity's message to me above). I don't think it's a template. If you look in my page you'll find a block of code that makes it up. Someone else cleaned it up for me so I don't really know what I was doing. Xiner ( talk, email) 23:21, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
