Hallo, Thank you for creating GIGA (United Nations). When you create an article like this with a "disambiguated" title, please make sure that the reader can find it from the basic name (ie GIGA), by adding or expanding a hatnote, or adding the article to a disambiguation page. This helps the reader to find the new article, and also reduces the chance of a future careless editor creating a duplicate article with a slightly different disambiguator. I've fixed this one. Thanks, and Happy Editing. Pam D 13:51, 16 February 2022 (UTC) reply

Please use draftspace to work on a brand-new article prior to pushing it to mainspace. As it stands, the article does not meet GNG and doesn't have any reliable, independent sources, and thus should not remain in mainspace. Padgriffin Griffin's Nest 14:55, 3 August 2022 (UTC) reply
@ Padgriffin, yes, I was just about to add those. It was not necessary to delete it within 5 minutes. Plenty of articles are created without first being draft, there is no rule about this. The subject meets GNG, add the sources would have been there in minutes, I fail to see how you are making Wikipedia better with this artion. Question regarding the page "trustworthy AI"

I happened to come across the page trustworthy AI where you seem to have made the most edits. To my understanding, trustworthy AI is a term widely used in academic articles and also by industry. In your edits, you appear to reduce the term to denominate a programme of work involving the UN. I would be interested in making the page more about the phenomena of trustworthy AI than the description of a programme, but I do not want to stumble in without discussing it with you first. So, what do you say? Johna ( talk) 08:52, 1 November 2022 (UTC) reply

Hi Johna, I appreciate the feedback. In future, it would be easier for others if you start such a discussion on the talk page of the article itself. While I did research and create this page, there is group on wikipedians maintaining it. A couple of points to note:
  1. This is not a page involving the UN, rather it is a joint programme of work of two UN agencies.
  2. This is about a programme of the UN not just for Member States, but rather for all of industry to standardize these technologies for all of society, academia, and industry. I wouldn't like to think of this as me reducing, rather, the articles describes the public interest programme under the name they established years ago.
  3. Trustworthy AI is a really specific phrase, much more so than e.g. "Trust AI" , "Trusted AI", etc. it refers to the phrase which was developed for this programme together with Baroness O'Neill (and indeed, inevitably has been copied by corporate entities, which is not beyond question in and of itself).
  4. from researching trustworthy AI for the creation of this article, I did not in fact find any specific phenomenon (singular). I did find multiple phenomena that also use this phrase (plural). We could create new articles for these, e.g. "Trustworthy AI (explanainability)", "Trustworthy AI (representation) together with a disambiguation page. We should then add a disambiguation template to this article.
We could consider adding other collective iniatives that genuinely work in the public interest (not whitewashing commercial interests). A section "Other uses" would be the established way to do so.
Private entity promotion is not an objective of wikipedia, if you would like to do this, then I suggest creating new articles, e.g. "Trustworthy AI (Microsoft Corporation)", "Trustworthy AI (Amazon)". I can help with this. I would by happy to create a disambiguation page and link to that from the TwAI article (or the see also section if you think that is better) Bquast ( talk) 10:17, 1 November 2022 (UTC) reply

Hello @ EchidnaLives it's about a research lab that produced two pieces of software (the most widely used ones). There is an article in Futune, there is an article on funding from Eric Schmidt. They have 2 Godel prize winners as founders. It seems to me plenty relevant, and all of it is there in the article. The competing software products are from Microsoft and Intel, they do have wikipedia pages. The idea was to level the field a bit in this market where trust is something very important. I attempted to do that, I guess now it won't happen. What an amazing outcome Bquast ( talk) 14:16, 25 November 2022 (UTC) reply
When something is moved to draftspace, you should not create a copy of that article in mainspace - you should fix the problems in draft space. MrOllie ( talk) 14:51, 26 November 2022 (UTC) reply
@ MrOllie I did exactly that. I fixed the (quite questionable) objection that there were insufficient reputable sources. I added those in draftspace. After that I copied the "fixed" article to mainspace.
The reason given to move to draftspace was "insufficient sources" that was simply not true, it had 3 reputable sources, all with very complete references and the content was more than suffiiciently notable. ~~~ Bquast ( talk) 18:21, 26 November 2022 (UTC) reply
No, you created a duplicate. You should fix the draft and then submit it for review. MrOllie ( talk) 18:48, 26 November 2022 (UTC) reply

Why should I submit it for review. I created an article from a red link that was completely valid. It was deleted under false pretenses, by a user who has been on Wikipedia less than a year. I nevertheless made the required improvements. Why does it have to wait 2 months for publication, when it was deleted without a valid reason Bquast ( talk) 18:57, 26 November 2022 (UTC) reply

Because it was moved to draft space because it did not meet Wikipedia's minimum inclusion critera. I see that this is not the first time you have done a cut and paste like this - please use the processes as they are intended to be used. Basically, any time you find yourself cutting and pasting an entire article, you are doing something wrong - it breaks the article histories. I'm surprised you don't know this already, given how long you have been on Wikipedia. MrOllie ( talk) 19:01, 26 November 2022 (UTC) reply

But it did meet the minimum criteria. Just because an account with less than a year made that claim, doesn't make it so Bquast ( talk) 19:41, 26 November 2022 (UTC) reply

It obviously does not. It has been deleted at AFD once already, and I have no doubt that it would be deleted again in its present form. MrOllie ( talk) 20:29, 26 November 2022 (UTC) reply

Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, Bquast. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. MrOllie ( talk) 14:52, 26 November 2022 (UTC) reply

@ MrOllie your accusation is wrong and baseless. I have no external relation with them. I know of them, as I follow the work of the community. I wouldn't make an article on a subject that I know nothing about, but if knowing something about the subject makes it a conflict of interest then how can anything ever be done?
I work for the ITU, the United Nations Specialized Agency for ICT. This is an ICT subject, that is the extend of the link. My interest in the subject is personal, is that acceptable? Otherwise because of my employer I am disqualified from writing anything about ICT? Separate to this, I wonder if there was anything in the article that was objectional? promotional?
I don't appreciate the insinuation that I am somehow paid or for this. It is not true, and there is not reason to make such an accusation.
I created this article in good faith, to offset a bit the imbalance that exists by the other competitors being MNOs. The moving to draftspace was grossly overzealous. Yet, again in good faith, I fixed it and put the "fixed" article in mainspace.
I've been editing wikipedia for 15 years, I have never been accussed of anything like editing for money. I think it is really lamentable when an article is created like this, has a lot of merit. Was removed for a reason that is not really valid. And when I act again in good fait, I get accused of pushing this for money.
I think you could have look at the article, looked at the history, noticed that the reason for moving was not valid.
In anycase, you win, this article won't exist then, the tech monopolists will greatly appeciate it. Bquast ( talk) 18:35, 26 November 2022 (UTC) reply
And no one has accused you of editing for money today. Please re-read the above message (which is a standard template message for this situation) carefully. There are many sorts of conflicts of interest. For example, if you work with Duality Technology people during your work for the ITU ( for example), that would be a COI even though they are not paying you.

An article you recently created, Video chapter, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. ( ?) Please use draftspace to work on a brand-new article prior to pushing it to mainspace.
Maybe that is not your objective Bquast ( talk) 15:02, 3 August 2022 (UTC) reply
