Help me: a question on article review

I have a question. I recently created this page: Waterfall, but it doesn't show up on Google. Does it need to be reviewed before that happens? If yes, how do I submit it for review? Thanks! 04:46, 19 June 2021 (UTC)

Yes, it will need to be passed by a new page patroller (or 90 days have elapsed) before it becomes eligible for indexing. You don't need to do anything. I'm not an expert on this, but I suspect the evidence for making a national chart may be sufficient to pass music notability criteria. — jmcgnh (talk)  (contribs) 05:18, 19 June 2021 (UTC) reply

Help me: a question on anonymous contributions

Hi, I have accidentally made an edit without signing in, and now that edit is anonymous, and it shows my IP address. How can I change this edit to reflect my name and not my IP address? Thanks! Bostonite01310 ( talk) 04:45, 26 June 2021 (UTC) reply

You can't. I suppose you could log out, undo the edit, then log back in and make it again, but that would publicly connect your account to your IP address, and it would also be really, really weird and some would even say disruptive. And just for the sake of completeness, let me add that " IP data of editors who accidentally logged out and thus inadvertently revealed their own IP addresses" can be deleted upon request so if you are concerned about your privacy, contacting the Wikipedia:Oversight team and requesting that they suppress the IP associated with the edit in question is an option that's available to you. 78.28.44.31 ( talk) 05:28, 26 June 2021 (UTC) reply

Thank you so much! I will look into the "suppressing" option. Bostonite01310 ( talk) 22:23, 26 June 2021 (UTC) reply

Help me: I have a duplicate "draft" page

Hi, I have created a draft of a page Draft:Cosmos (B.I album) without realizing a page of the same name existed. I could not move the draft page to be the main article, so I manually copied the contents from the draft page to the article Cosmos (B.I album). Now what do I do with the draft page?

Please stop citing WP:PRIMARY sources for genres

Per the logic of not using AllMusic's sidebar for genres per WP:ALBUMAVOID, a streaming service like Melon's broad genre categories should not be used. Regardless, it is most definitely a WP:PRIMARY source and we prefer secondary sources, like critics' reviews, for genres on Wikipedia. See WP:RS. Thank you. Help Me: How to tackle an edit war?

An editor keeps reverting my changes even though they are in the wrong. How do I tackle this? I posted a message on their talk page, but they still reverted all of my changes on the following pages --

  1. The New Kids (album)
  2. Return (iKon album)
  3. New Kids: Continue
  4. New Kids: The Final
  5. I Decide
  6. Welcome Back (iKon album)
  7. Love Scenario

B.I is credited as the solo producer on all of the physical albums. Please see the pictures here (I can attach more pictures) -- https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EccXJEwU0AEJP39?format=jpg&name=large

Please note that being correct is not a defense to edit warring, as every edit warrior thinks that they are correct. You should first attempt to discuss your edits with the other party to achieve a consensus. If that fails, dispute resolution processes are available. 331dot ( talk) 06:03, 1 November 2022 (UTC) reply
@ 331dot: As I mentioned, I am requesting help to resolve this issue precisely to not get into an edit war. As I also mentioned, I did try to talk to the other person but they're just reverting everyone's changes, not just mine. —Bostonite01310 talk | contribs 14:48, 1 November 2022 (UTC) reply
If the other party is not communicating with you and resisting efforts at outside dispute resolution, they should be reported as an edit warrior to WP:ANEW. 331dot ( talk) 15:48, 1 November 2022 (UTC) reply
@ 331dot: Thank you. The issue has now been resolved. The editor in question got blocked for making disruptive edits. —Bostonite01310 talk | contribs 23:41, 2 November 2022 (UTC) reply

A problem with your custom signature

Please fix your signature like this. See this page for further information. – Jonesey95 ( talk) 07:38, 31 December 2022 (UTC) reply

@ Jonesey95: Thank you. But I think the problem could be with the way that particular talk page is structured with it hiding my contribs but my signature shows up fine on other pages, for example here -- —Bostonite01310 talk | contribs 03:02, 1 January 2023 (UTC) reply
When you use a pipe in your signature, it will cause problems when the signature is inserted inside code that uses a pipe as a meaningful piece of code instead of a plain character. This page explains that you must encode the pipe as I have done immediately above. – Jonesey95 ( talk) 06:04, 1 January 2023 (UTC) reply

Help me: I have a draft of an article with the same name as an existing article

Hi, I want to publish a draft page Draft:Flashback (iKon EP), but a title with the same name already exists Flashback (iKon EP), which only has redirect information to another page. Do I manually copy paste the contents from my draft page to this existing one, or is there another way? Thanks —Bostonite01310 talk | contribs 02:12, 3 January 2023 (UTC) reply

It appears you have submitted your draft for review. The accepting reviewer is responsible for moving the draft to the correct location and, if there's already a redirect, for requesting the redirect to be deleted in order to make way for the article. Please don't attempt to short-circuit this process. — jmcgnh (talk)  (contribs) 02:20, 3 January 2023 (UTC) reply
@ Jmcgnh: The creator of the article submitted it for review. I have reviewed the whole article, modified text and added references just now. —Bostonite01310 talk | contribs 02:34, 3 January 2023 (UTC) reply
I hate that so many of the sources are publicity tweets from the label, but if you want to move this draft to article yourself (something you are allowed to do) you would ask an admin to delete the redirect by placing the template {{ Db-move|Draft:Flashback (iKon EP)|I have reviewed the whole article, modified text and added references}} (without the tlx prefix) on the redirect. Most of the time, deletion occurs quite quickly. — jmcgnh (talk)  (contribs) 04:31, 3 January 2023 (UTC) reply
@ Jmcgnh: Thank you, that was really helpful. It is hard to find good references for each step of the album release process but I will try and find other references. —Bostonite01310 talk | contribs 14:25, 3 January 2023 (UTC) reply
