Yes, you may post on WP:RFPP, per concurrence of admins on IRC. Alternately, you can just ask me to protect the page in question. — Kurykh 02:07, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

San Francisco Bay Area. Is that all right, they keep adding spam links, and from the e-mail I just got from them, I don't think they intend to stop anytime soon. I can send you the e-mail if you like. B o L 02:10, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Regarding this edit, there's nothing that says an article can't be speedy tagged while also at AfD. If something turns out to meet a speedy criterion, then it would only make sense to tag it, even if it's already at AfD too. Hey BoL,

Thanks for all your hard work trying to help out User:Shuanggen Jin. I just noticed your revert of their talk page blanking and wanted to stop by to let you know that blanking your own talk page is generally allowed under WP:TALK#User talk pages. Naturally, it does tend to make it a little bit harder to tell what warnings a user has received, but in every discussion I've seen about it on ANI, the general consensus has been that it's allowed.

Anyways, just thought I'd stop by and let you know. Thanks, and keep up the hard work! -- jonny- m t 04:00, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

It's not on any, you didn't format the ad on the template. BoL ( Talk) 00:41, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Sorry.

I'm sorry about treating Wikipedia as a social network. I didn't know that showing her a link elsewhere on here was talking. I won't do that again. Thanks for telling me too.-- Lover of Itachi ( talk) 15:40, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

I don't understand what you added on my talk. What is the mainspace? The whole of wikipedia? I just don't understand. If you mean I havn't edited any pages. It's because on my home computer Wiki doesn't work. I only get on Wikipedia at school. Therefore, I have no time to edit anything at school unless I want to fail. So forgive me as of now I will start editing things once my main computer at home works. -- Lover of Itachi ( talk) 17:01, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

3O offer

Hi BoL:

Thanks for your offer of a third opinion at Talk:Muhammad. I think further input would be helpful. I added a more detailed note at Talk:Muhammad.

It is a bit confusing because the discussion is at Talk:Muhammad; the wording under discussion is at Talk:Muhammad/FAQ. Wanderer57 ( talk) 12:32, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Further to the above

Hi BoL: I appreciate your effort to clue me in about 3O procedure ("If this is your first time doing a 3O, the case will be on the IRC channel (Link). If you wish, the mediation may commence on 03:00 (UTC). ")

Unfortunately, I am not able to understand this information because 1) I've never used IRC and don't know how to, and 2} I was under the impression (from very very limited experience) that 3O opinions were given through comments in the normal Wikipedia Talk pages.

Wanderer57 ( talk) 02:01, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

3rd opinion is not supposed to be mediation. Its exactly what it sounds like, an extra outside opinion to try to bring in fresh views. There is no "case" and certainly no need for an IRC channel (even actual mediation can be done on talk pages). Mr. Z-man 02:19, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

OK...then...I guess I don't really know how to solve this because I've been noticing edit wars about some images lately, so, yeah, sorry for the inconvenience. BoL ( Talk) 03:30, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

About your advice

Are you saying that all it needs is some references? Kitty53 ( talk) 04:02, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Pretty much, I guess... BoL ( Talk) 04:02, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
Thank you! Kitty53 ( talk) 04:03, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Wikia

Is there any way to get that account renamed? I don't want anyone associating me with that account. (It's not mine, fwiw). Keilana| Parlez ici 15:41, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

I know, otherwise it wouldn't have any vandalism. Wikia accounts cannot be renamed because Wikia's different from Wikipedia, where it is global, so when you travel from one wiki to the other, you're still logged in to the same account, but luckily it's blocked, only on Wikia. If you wish, you should think about creating an account to prevent any impersonation, like append your username with a number or something, but that was to notify you. BoL ( Talk) 23:45, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Do have a wikia?

Yeah, that's me. But do notify me if you see an impersonator. BoL ( Talk) 01:35, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

I have removed the {{ prod}} tag from Arthur C. Trumbo, which you proposed for deletion, because its deletion has previously been contested or viewed as controversial. Proposed deletion is not for controversial deletions. For this reason, it is best not to propose deletion of articles that have previously been de-{{ prod}}ed, even by the article creator, or which have previously been listed on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{ prod}} template back to the article, but feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! Redfarmer ( talk) 02:41, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

It doesn't look as though this article has gone through AfD yet. That's probably the next logical step. Glass Cobra 02:43, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

With regard to your comments on User:Lookinhere: Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks will lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Ok, here it is, your own "personal" warning: Look, you and Lookinhere really need to get over your personal problems and stop attacking each other, stop, please, just try and discuss things like mature people. I'm trying to maintain a NPOV but you did really have to add a new rule to your talk page about it. Springfield High School (Tennessee)

This is about your recent reversion of Springfield High School (Tennessee) to an earlier version by Ivyleaguetds. However, the version you reverted from was from the same author, and seemed to be a legitimate edit. There were a few empty categories, but I assume that the author was simply waiting and taking the page editing step-by-step, perhaps unaware of the 3-edit rule. So I'm reverting the artice back to the author's newest, which includes info about the school's organization and possible future info on other things. Rohan ( talk) 04:25, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Chicago Gaylords

I put in the Admin request for protection. That guy isn't just removing the tags, he's adding blanket POV and made up info without references. I think you should leave the content as-is per my last revisions until he can actually come up with real sources, or this article will never be referenced whatsoever. I've been painstakingly referencing three or four other big articles recently, he can do the same. Some of that info is speculative at best. 74.228.158.68 ( talk) 04:11, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

COI edits

You had previously reverted conflict of interest edits by (now indef-blocked) Thpcomm ( talk · contribs). An acknowledged sockpuppet of that user, Crystal08 ( talk · contribs), has appeared and reverted back to the conflict of interest version. Initially I had reverted those conflict of interest changes, but then self-reverted my edit because I wanted another editor to review it. Can you check this out? Cirt ( talk) 21:18, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Revert any COI/Spam edits on sight, and if applicable, request a checkuser, and get the page semi-protected. Let me know if that happens again. BoL ( Talk) 00:58, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
I reverted the COI/Spam edits like you said, but I'm dealing with a different checkuser case, do you want to start this one instead? Cirt ( talk) 04:26, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Well, I actually checked the talk page of Thpcomm ( talk · contribs), and the administrator that reviewed the block allowed him/her to create another account without the promotional username, we'll let that one slide for now, but if he/she continues to step up, I will file that checkuser case. For now, let's watch and see...see what he/she comes up... BoL ( Talk) 04:34, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
The best way for this user to get involved would be to suggest WP:RS/ WP:V secondary sources to use on the article's talk page. So far the editor(s) have not been able to do that, and has instead reverted back to their own previous conflict of interest edits in the article itself. Cirt ( talk) 04:36, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
That's probably enough to start a thread at WP:COIN. You in? BoL ( Talk) 04:39, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
That seems like a most appropriate next step. Cirt ( talk) 04:42, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

FYI, the sock of Thpcomm ( talk · contribs), Crystal08 ( talk · contribs), has gone and posted a thread at WP:COIN - here. I still think it would be best for this individual with a financial conflict of interest in this article to post suggested WP:RS/ WP:V secondary sources to the article's talk page, instead of editing the article directly. You had previously warned this user about editing the article directly, at User talk:Thpcomm. Cirt ( talk) 18:33, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Also FYI, it appears that all of the changes/new info added by the sock of Thpcomm ( talk · contribs), Crystal08 ( talk · contribs), to the article The Hunger Project, was info sourced to perhaps not the best of sources which are certainly not WP:RS/ WP:V, secondary sources, such as press releases, the company's own website, etc. Cirt ( talk) 18:56, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
I'll try to get others involved and to deal with the user. BoL ( Talk) 19:37, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Self-promotion

This back and forth seems a bit much. I put in a report at AIV, but I'm not sure they'll take it, given that it's in userspace (and not typical blatant vandalism). Any ideas? -- Bfigura ( talk) 04:09, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

It's a G11, and has been deleted. No action to take unless she keeps making the page again. BoL ( Talk) 04:11, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, just saw the deletion. So far it's only been recreated as listing her name. Hopefully that'll be it. -- Bfigura ( talk) 04:14, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

G11/G4 and salted. Now let's see whether she goes on her talk page! BoL ( Talk) 04:22, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
With any luck, it'll just stay blanked. (Having your user page salted and your talk page protected would be a sad state of affairs). -- Bfigura ( talk) 04:29, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
She's blocked, right? BoL ( Talk) 04:30, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
Not that I see from the logs. She just blanked the last message I left. As long as it stops there, I don't see a problem... except that she just started blanking wikiprojects. Hmmm, know someone with a hammer? -- Bfigura ( talk) 04:35, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
On IRC I do :). BoL ( Talk) 04:37, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

←Oh, IRC. Where would we be without your expediency? :) -- Bfigura ( talk) 04:39, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Heh. Anyway, level 2 warning, if it persists, go to AIV, and now she's screaming at an admin. Later. BoL ( Talk) 04:42, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

May I ask you to reconsider and elaborate your suggeston of speedy deletion in the above discussion? At the current state, the article is in my opinion very well-cited and NPOV, and in no way constitutes WP:SOAP (as the nomination says and which you apparently agreed with). Moreover, WP:SOAP has never been criteria for speedy deletions. Herunar ( talk) 09:05, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Yes, you may post on WP:RFPP, per concurrence of admins on IRC. Alternately, you can just ask me to protect the page in question. — Kurykh 02:07, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

I don't understand what you added on my talk. What is the mainspace? The whole of wikipedia? I just don't understand. If you mean I havn't edited any pages. 3O offer

Thanks! With regard to your comments on User:Lookinhere: Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users.
