Proposal to start a women's basketball task force

I'm very interested in improving coverage of women's basketball. I thought briefly about forming a Wikiproject, but while researching, realized that a task force would be ideal. There are two major advantages of a task force over a Wikiproject. First is that the task force can leave some of the bureaucracy to the parent Wikiproject. Second, and possibly more important, is that a task force can have more than one parent Wikiproject. While WikiProject Basketball is an obvious parent, so is WikiProject Women's sport, and the task force may be able to draw from both.

According to this process for starting a task force, the first thing to do is gather consensus, so I am sending this to some editors who have been active in editing relevant articles. If there is sufficient interest, I'll take a first stab at filling out the task force template and creating a draft task force page.

At this point, all I need is an answer to two questions:

  1. I would (or would not) be interested in being part of a task force to improve the coverage of women's basketball
  2. I think a different approach would be better (followed by alternative). SPhilbrick (Talk) 12:25, 26 July 2013 (UTC) reply

Wikipedia:WikiProject Basketball/Women's basketball has been created. I haven't yet added it to the Wikiproject pages, but will do that, however, I wanted to let you know it exists, and has some suggested tasks.-- SPhilbrick (Talk) 19:11, 10 August 2013 (UTC) reply

2023 BYU Cougars football team

Please do not add back the uniform combinations for the games. These were removed by me per WP:FANCRUFT.--Rockchalk 7 17 05:31, 22 September 2023 (UTC) reply

@ Rockchalk717: What you have removed is information that Wiki recommends including. BYU uses 4 traditional colors: white, navy, royal, and black. However they no longer use traditional uniforms. In 2021 BYU used 12 different uniform combinations over 13 games, though they had 26 uniform combinations. In 2022 they used 13 different combinations over 13 games. To open 2023, their uniform combination was a first time ever useage. It has become such a distinguishable, noteable fact that it is being published amongst newspapers and various sites which include Deseret News, Sports Illustrated, Bleacher Report, and ESPN. It is also important to include because there are instances where both schools have similar color schemes. Both BYU and Kansas, for example, have a combination of royal blue and white within their uniforms. So how do you distinguish them? BYU has done so by deciding to use one of their navy uniforms rather than one of the royal ones. Bigddan11 ( talk) 13:30, 22 September 2023 (UTC) reply
