Event coordinator granted

After reviewing your request for the "eventcoordinator" permission, I have temporarily enabled the flag on your account until 2019-02-11. Keep in mind these things:

  • The event coordinator right removes the limit on the maximum number of new accounts that can be created in a 24-hour period.
  • The event coordinator right allows you to temporarily add the " confirmed" permission to newly created accounts. You should not grant this for more than 10 days.
  • The event coordinator right is not a status symbol. If it remains unused, it is likely to be removed. Abuse of the event coordinator right will result in its removal by an administrator.
  • Please note, if you were previously a member of the "account creator" group, your flag may have been converted to this new group.

If you no longer require the right, let me know, or ask any other administrator. Drop a note on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of the event coordinator right. Happy editing! TonyBallioni ( talk) 03:43, 25 January 2019 (UTC) reply

New IF/Elit group

Please forgive me if this is the wrong way to contact you. I noted you were doing a lot with interactive fiction, which is terrific. Thank you. We are starting a new project to edit women electronic literature/interactive fiction projects. Would you like to join us? /info/en/?search=Wikipedia:WikiProject_Women_writers/Women_electronic_literature_writers We could really use a librarian's help!! Thank you!~ LoveElectronicLiterature ( talk) 03:29, 1 September 2022 (UTC) reply

Hi @ LoveElectronicLiterature, thanks very much for reaching out. I would love to be part of this project! Iʻm not terribly advanced at editing Wikipedia, I must confess, but this is a great project, and Iʻd be glad to help out :). I donʻt have a ton of time that I can commit, but I will do what I can! That would be great. If you email me at clearlyconsistent at gmail dot com, I can put you on the list for our announcements and our spreadsheet with simpler assignments. Invitation to WikiAPA Edit-a-thon: "We Are Here" to Stay

I hope that you are doing well and having a great week. I saw that you had attended the 2019 edit-a-thon at Honolulu Museum of Art and wanted to share details about a Smithsonian Wikipedia edit-a-thon we will be hosting in Honolulu this month. You can find details below:

We would like to invite you to attend our in-person event, WikiAPA Edit-a-thon: "We Are Here" to Stay on October 26 from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM HST, which is hosted by the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center (APAC), The Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, and the Smithsonian American Women’s History Initiative.

"We Are Here" to Stay’s purpose is to ensure pivotal Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders figures are represented on Wikipedia and Wikidata. Specifically, the event focuses on the people from the newly published anthology, We Are Here: 30 Inspiring Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders Who Shaped the United States.

As one of the web’s most visited reference sites, Wikipedia serves as a starting point for many who are looking to learn about art, history, and science. However, less than 19% of Wikipedia biographies in English represent women, and there are considerable gaps on Wikipedia related to Asian American and Pacific Islander history as well as topics about nonbinary and transgender people.

To fill the gap, this event encourages collaboration amongst cultural heritage professionals to contribute their knowledge and expertise. During this event, attendees of all wiki experience levels will learn the basics of how to edit Wikipedia by updating articles related to the We Are Here anthology. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own laptop for the event.

Please visit our Eventbrite page to register for this event. Because this is an in-person event, spots are limited so please register as soon as possible. You can find more information about the event by visiting our Wikipedia Project Page. If you have any questions or concerns about the event please contact the Wikimedia Coordinator Mia Cariello at cariellom@si.edu.

We hope to see you there! CarCai ( talk) 19:19, 17 October 2022 (UTC) reply

AwedOakSun ( talk) 03:51, 2 September 2022 (UTC) reply
That would be great. If you email me at clearlyconsistent at gmail dot com, I can put you on the list for our announcements and our spreadsheet with simpler assignments. We are all beginners, and any time you have at all will be so appreciated and useful! Thank you LoveElectronicLiterature ( talk) 05:00, 2 September 2022 (UTC) reply
