Akhran, please don't remove anything else from Category:Animal rights movement and add it to one about organizations instead. Some of these names are not organizations as such, just names. It would lead to quite a bit of confusion to try to recategorize the movement, and would be inappropriate, given that the "groups" or leaderless resistance movements work together, and are often the same people. SlimVirgin talk| contribs 01:33, 14 August 2009 (UTC) reply

Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is not an animal rights organization, though it is part of the movement. Animal Liberation Front is not an organization of any kind, just a term people use. The articles are categorized as they are for a reason, because it does get rather complicated trying to work out who is what. :) SlimVirgin talk| contribs 01:44, 14 August 2009 (UTC) reply
You're undoing a lot of work and removing a long-standing category that is there for reason. Please don't continue without consensus, as restoring the cats will be quite time-consuming. Also, as I said, you are misdescribing some of them. SlimVirgin talk| contribs 01:48, 14 August 2009 (UTC) reply
And vegans are not vegetarians. SlimVirgin talk| contribs 01:51, 14 August 2009 (UTC) reply
There is a reason we categorized as we did. If you want to change it, please go to the wikiproject and start a discussion, but you can't decide it unilaterally, especially not when you're calling the ALF an organization, and removing the parent cats, and deciding that vegans are vegetarians. Categories are how we find articles. If they are messed up, things get lost -- and given we have three million articles, that could mean lost forever -- which is why we need to stick to a consistent categorizing philosophy.
