In the Enclave Directory I was listed as H.C. Unblack, but I've been going by my current alias for a few years (used to post at the old Saviour Machine Arena under both that name and this one, I think). I was also on Xiangoth and the Rackets & Drapes boards for a bit, and I showed up on the Automata Wiki at Flaming Fish for a few edits also.
As for stuff that we can work on... there are a few Christian industrial pages here that could use some expansion. I expanded Klank a while ago, and I've been watching Circle of Dust and Celldweller, but those might need some work. Or just generally, any band that meets the guidelines at WP:MUSIC can be written about here; Argyle Park and Rackets and Drapes should be fine (though Argyle Park and AP2 should be combined). I'll hopefully have an article for The Deadlines at least started by the end of today. (Usually, an article on a band that shows up on articles for deletion is kept or deleted based on passing WP:MUSIC's guidelines.) -- Idont Havaname ( Talk) 21:17, 23 January 2006 (UTC) reply

Reverts to Gothic music (Paradise lost and HIM)

I think you're wrong to have reverted that. Paradise Lost has an album called "Gothic" that contains many allusions to this subculture and is, therefore, relevant, even the band it's not strictly gothic. And the inclusion of HIM is also relevant because they are one of the most popular bands of present-day gothic and they're not even mentioned in the whole page. I'm not going to revert back, but please, try to think of it objectively and you might change your mind. -- Doppelgangland 13:21, 9 March 2006 (UTC) reply

re: images

If you're just intending to replace the image, you can just upload the image again with the same name as before (I think, but I'm not really an expert on images); that will overwrite the image you don't want, but the old image will still be in the history if you want to use it later. Otherwise, you can list it on Images and media for deletion. There are also some criteria for speedy deletion that pertain to images, but mainly those are for images that are not being used with adequate licensing. (Although maybe criterion #5 covers what you're looking for.) Hope this helps! -- Idont Havaname ( Talk) 19:51, 20 May 2006 (UTC) reply

The only currently active bots (per WP:BOT) that handle images are OrphanBot, FairuseBot, and Pfft Bot. It doesn't look like those handle that kind of tagging, although you could ask Carnildo if they do (he runs OrphanBot and FairuseBot). So it would probably be best for you to go ahead and list it on IfD; I don't think it would necessarily make you look bad if you didn't do anything, but if we're not using the images, we don't really need to keep them around. -- Idont Havaname ( Talk) 23:46, 20 May 2006 (UTC) reply

If they display more evidence of being sockpuppets, go ahead and report it to WP:AN/I or request a CheckUser at WP:RFCU (CheckUser requests take several days, just to let you know). As for conduct from the user(s) themselves, warning them with the templates at WP:WARN is always a good place to start; putting which template you're using in your edit summary also lets people who watch recent changes know what's going on. -- Idont Havaname ( Talk) 04:24, 26 May 2006 (UTC) reply

Unspecified source for Image:Cruxshadows.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Cruxshadows.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{ GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{ Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Image copyright problem with Image:Cruxshadows.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Cruxshadows.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fritz S. ( Talk) 10:16, 27 August 2006 (UTC) reply

Replaceable fair use Image:Image band the-last-dance.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Image band the-last-dance.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{ di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn 15:46, 21 October 2007 (UTC) reply

2019 US Banknote Contest

US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here
