Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but you may wish to create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits. For one thing, if you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{ helpme}} before the question on your talk page. Again, welcome!

Please don't edit other people's entries on talk pages, such as you did with Talk:Koko (gorilla). It is considered vandalism, and also tends to irritate whoever made the original entry. The talk pages are for discussing the article, and do not need to maintain any standards.

Thanks again for your help with Wikipedia! -- wrp103 (Bill Pringle) (Talk) 14:18, 27 September 2007 (UTC) reply

Thanks for your note, Bill. I didn't even know that I have my own talk page. ;-)

I am still a bit nervous about editing, and think very hard before doing so. I certainly wouldn't dream of changing the content of someone's entry on a talk page.

But did you look at the original version of the paragraphs in Talk:Koko (gorilla) whose format (only!) I changed? Due to the OP's error, producing excruciatingly long lines, it was almost unreadable. I shortened the lines to save others the trouble I had.

Moreover, my version in fact matches the OP's own original version, which s/he misguidedly pasted here virtually verbatim: http://trishwilson.typepad.com/blog/2005/02/this_is_just_in.html

Nevertheless, I will in future refrain from making any changes whatsoever in others' talk entries. 4granite 09:33, 3 October 2007 (UTC) reply

No problem. Simple formatting changes are normally fine, but I wanted you to be aware that some can get irritated if you change their stuff. -- wrp103 (Bill Pringle) (Talk) 01:27, 4 October 2007 (UTC) reply
