If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

I justified these references already to User_talk:MrOllie. I believe, these references are neither "vendor sources" nor "promotional material" but helpful for someone who wants to dive deeper into the matter... please explain, if I'm wrong... thanks!

If you can provide a link to an independent, reliable source (e.g., a respected magazine or journal article, not a blog) that reviews examples of this type of software, that would be a service to people who are interested in learning more about this type of software and/or about the specific products available. However, links to the Web sites of the distributors and/or developers of these software products are by their very nature not independent and have the effect of promoting the products; hence adding them to the article is promotional editing. I believe you will find that @ MrOllie's response is consistent with mine. General Ization Talk 16:28, 24 May 2021 (UTC) reply

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), including your own talk page, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. General Ization Talk 16:31, 24 May 2021 (UTC) reply

Thanks for your explanations, General Ization! I always thought, "promotion" would be some sort of "advertising" for a product... But apparently, Wikipedia is a bit more strict with their definition and I think, that's fine... 2A02:908:699:32E0:A185:C026:95F6:68A1 ( talk) 20:10, 24 May 2021 (UTC) reply
