Please do not give any name just because someone claimed to have invented the dish. I have seen as least 4 or 5 other different claims over the years, this is just the latest one to claim to have invented the dish. We do not give prominence to a person or shop for simply making a claim, we only do so when there is independent research that says it is so. Anyone can make claims, but without some kind of independent research it is largely worthless.
This one is particularly dubious for claiming that the Teh comes from the name of the person. The derivation barely makes sense linguistically. Hzh ( talk) 16:30, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
Please don't do edit wars. I've watched many Chinese programmes from Singapore and Malaysia over the past decades and this is the most authentic version.
The name 'teh' is from his name. I've also visited Klang many times and talked to the locals.
It doesn't make sense linguistic to you because you're not even a Chinese Hokkien.
I will give you a friendly warning first so that you can stop the edit wars. If you have a specific inventor name with a reliable source, please quote it and name the shop and inventor. If not, don't put some ambiguous unreliable words like 'some shop in Klang'. Nobody likes ambiguity, it means you're not sure about the shop so that people can go to the shop to verify themselves.
Please do not
attack other editors, as you did at
Chinese Malaysian. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please
stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Do not call people troll disagreeing with you, on edit summary or elsewhere.

If you don't want to be called a troll. Comment on a specific shop name and give a reliable source like TheStar who has done their homework and research rather than any Singaporean blog. Also give the reason why Bak Kut Teh is named Bak Kut 'Teh' by that inventor.
Please
stop attacking other editors. If you continue, you may be
blocked from editing. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people.
