A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Jenna Rose is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jenna Rose (3rd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Hey Whpq, Since you were so nice as to welcome me and give me some tips already, I thought I'd ask you for some advice. I have been working on wikifying articles and I've come across quite a few that only have one reference, which is to a wikisource page, and the information was copypasted from one to the other so it is exactly the same. Example: John Dean Blythe. Is this something that should be proposed for deletion? Or is it fine as long as people put in more sources and info? Please let me know when you get a chance. Thanks. I've been working on the article for Prosper Masquelier, fixing someone's poor trans-wiki of the article from fr.Wikipedia, adding proper reliable sources, correcting errors created by the mis-translation to English, removing hyperbole, and making the whole thing properly encyclopedic per OUR manual of style. [1] More to do, as I found far more sources than seemed the nominator here. God love the French, but they use a different set of guidelines and policies... similar to but not quite the same as ours... and per OUR policies and guidelines, I think the GNG is met. More to do and I'll keep working on it. Best, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 03:23, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
When Wikipedia first started, it was a very nice project. You could contribute to existing articles or start new ones, and it was fun to watch other users improve on what you had written -- expanding it, making it clearer, adding more information, etc. It really worked well for a number of years.
But those days are over. I've found lately that if you try to contribute anything at all, somebody immediately deletes your contribution, citing some obscure violation of the minutiae of thousands of Wikipedia rules and policies. I've sometimes spent hours and hours arguing with someone over making even the tiniest change to an article; then after having soundly won the argument, had my contribution deleted anyway. Start a new article on some topic, and it gets almost immediately deleted. Try correcting or adding to an existing article, and your edits are immediately reverted. Try to look up an article you wrote a few years ago, and it's gone. There's just no point in spending time on the Wikipedia project anymore, when anything you do is immediately deleted. After many years of contributing to Wikipedia, I've finally had enough of fighting with these self-appointed deletionist Wikipedia topic police. I won't be contributing to it anymore, and will be joining the increasing number of people who are abandoning the Wikipedia project. SimpsonDG ( talk) 14:21, 24 November 2011 (UTC)

Hello:
My name is Gerald del Campo. I am the CEO of The Order of Thelemic Knights, which apparently had a page on Wikipedia that was taken down in 2011. I have just become aware of this.
On the deletion page some one noted that our non-profit, tax-exempt organization is a "blatant hoax" as if the organization didn't exist. As the CEO of this organization, which works along side of The Red Cross and *many* other charities, I take exception to this (as would the IRS) as it doesn't appear as though the editors who reviewed the page took much care in researching it. Furthermore, there are articles on Wikipedia itself that reference pages written by our members on our website. We also do a fair bit of publishing, which can be verified with a quick search on Amazon.com - we are listed as a non-profit organization by the Oregon Secretary of State, where our headquarters resides. Quite frankly, I am disappointed that an organization that does the sort of work we do would be so easily blown off by your editors with so little research. The subject matter "Thelema" is subject to great political bias and manipulation by some Wikipedia editors who are members of a supposed competing organization. If you allow that sort of manipulation to continue, Wikipedia will no longer be a source of unbiased factual information.
I am asking you to reconsider reversing the decision to delete, and perhaps spend a little time understanding the sort of work that we have done, and continue to do for the greater good in the name of our chosen spiritual paradigm. If I have not followed the procedure to contest deletions properly, I must apologize in advance for not understanding the way Wikipedia works.
Please contact me with any questions you might have. I could even arrange a phone call if you prefer.
Sincerely, Gerald del Campo CEO Order of Thelemic Knights — Preceding unsigned comment added by Solis93 ( talk • contribs) 22:02, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi
My name is Tony Savo, I'm the subject of a wiki page being considered for deletion. [Tony Savo]
The reason why my page is being challenged, in short, is due to a personal attack from an ex CFM member who set up our original wiki page (user: AwayEnter).
I have several credible references (non-blogs) to prove 1. I do in fact exist 2. I am the CEO/Producer of CFM and 3. I have made several contributions to the sport of Mixed Martial Arts and pop music in general.
Here are just a few you might not have seen:

http://jbstaredownmma.com/2012/03/24/the-united-mixed-martial-arts-organization-program-is-poised-to-revolutionize-the-mma-industry/ (in paragraph 6 I'm listed as member on U.M.M.A.O "United Mixed Martial Arts Organization" Board of Directors)
http://www.tapoutlive.com/comments/8800/22912_Coalition_Fight_Music/ (new interview I did on Tapout Radio has gotten over 1100 hits/views/listens)
It is common knowledge that I am the founding member of CFM also the CEO/Producer and can be easily verified with a basic google search.
The reason for contacting you is obviously its upsetting to see someone trying to discredit my life's work and passion. I have multiple links to prove my accomplishments and would be glad to post myself but I think it could be deemed a conflict of interest or violation of terms at the very least.
In the interest of truth and fairness, I think I have provided sufficient proof of myself and my accomplishments and would greatly appreciate your help/attention in this matter.
Please let me know if I can do anything else to help establish that my page is accurate.
Thanks for all your time and energy!

This is basically an article on Irish salt potatoes served in Central New York. It is not about German salt potatoes called Pellkartoffeln and served with quark. There is already a German page called List of German dishes with a description of this German dish. Why don't you improve that article or create a new page for Pellkartoffeln? To say Wiki is "unreliable" because it doesn't have a different dish on this page seems rather testy to me. Nconwaymicelli ( talk) 08:03, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

Although the article has been deleted, I wasn't able to get any response for my last edit, which includes another reference from webmagazine, MakeUseOf. I agree some of these webmagazines I have never heard of, but that doesn't really qualify them to be unreliable sources. For example MakeUseOf, has a full editorial board, and not just from the magazine, but also from its wiki entry it seems like a reliable web magazine. In any case, this was my final comment, if because of this you change your mind, please let me know what I could do.

Credo Reference, who generously donated 400 free Credo 250 research accounts to Wikipedia editors over the past two years, has offered to expand the program to include 100 additional reference resources. Credo wants Wikipedia editors to select which resources they want most. So, we put together a quick survey to do that:
It also asks some basic questions about what you like about the Credo program and what you might want to improve.
At this time only the initial 400 editors have accounts, but even if you do not have an account, you still might want to weigh in on which resources would be most valuable for the community (for example, through WikiProject Resource Exchange).
Also, if you have an account but no longer want to use it, please leave me a note so another editor can take your spot.
If you have any other questions or comments, drop by my talk page or email me at wikiocaasi@yahoo.com. Cheers! Ocaasi t | c 17:37, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Hi! I had a quick question about the discussion above, in which you are the nominator. Although there appears to be an emerging consensus that the material is not necessarily fit for its own article, there does seem to be a fairly strong consensus that the material does have some sort of place in a larger article. I was wondering what your opinion on this was? Thanks!-- Yaksar (let's chat) 12:18, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jenna Rose (3rd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Salman Aditya (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Hello,
What are your thoughts on removing the "references to primary sources or sources affiliated with the subject" tag on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Northern_Bank? There are now listed sources from the following...

I am currently working on the Wiki page for Ms Radha Thomas. She is an Indian jazz singer and songwriter. In fact, she is known as a diva in the Indian jazz scene. She previously was with the band Human Bondage and has sung and performed globally. The article is still under development. I haven't completed it or submitted it for review yet. You can have a look at it at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Radha_Thomas. I will be requesting your help and advice (as usual) in making it conform to all Wiki standards. If you do a Google Search for Radha ( https://www.google.co.in/#hl=en&output=search&sclient=psy-ab&q=Radha+Thomas&oq=Radha+Thomas&gs_l=hp.3..0l2j0i30l2.1190.3159.0.3385.12.12.0.0.0.0.282.1949.0j11j1.12.0...0.0...1c.dYmnNUlMsQM&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.,cf.osb&fp=f6ee012440c72a74&biw=1024&bih=509) you will find dozens of articles and links to her work. As of now, the article is still under development and I will come bug you for help soon! Varunr ( talk) 06:36, 18 July 2012 (UTC)

You commented "Heck, I've used this technique myself. It involves the deliberate introduction of fabricated information presented to subject matter experts who are responsible for reviewing documentation for publication. They get all huffy about how bad it is and then point out all the mistakes and provide corrections. Voila! You now have a proofed document to publish." when you were evaluating this article ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Introduced_error).
Is there another article that still exists that describes this technique?

Hi! There is an ongoing proposal at the project talkpage concerning the future of wikification, including possible deprecation of the {{ wikify}} template which is being discussed at Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2012 August 10. Your input would be greatly appreciated!

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Hello. You recently tagged the PSU page for not having any references. Surely a trusted web site should be an adequate reference. You are probably right and I am rather new to this. Thus, may you please explain to me how the article needs to be improved? Thank you very much. ( Galaxycat ( talk))

Go ahead and mark away, although if/when I rerun it (as I did today) I'll replace the list if that's ok. It's just cut-and-pasted from shell output, and nothing (as far as I know) depends on it. Cheers, -- j⚛e decker talk 03:37, 10 September 2012 (UTC)

Hi. I think I have completed the article and am contemplating it to move it to the AFC space. Before that, I'd really appreciate if you could have a look and give me some inputs, suggestions and advice and hopefully a green signal :-). Whpq, why aren't you an administrator? I saw you close an AfD as "non-admin closure" and was surprised; I have always assumed you already were one. Have you thought about it? -- MelanieN ( talk) 17:53, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect PET, RESCUE:OCEAN PATROL. Since you had some involvement with the PET, RESCUE:OCEAN PATROL redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so).
