Yes, I did. We get bombarded by articles of this type. Simply put, this is not a depository for information on every Usenet group on the internet. It is of little or no interest to anyone outside your group and is a poor use of this site's resources. Am I discriminating? I most certainly am. So are the folks who run this site. No intentions on flaming you, I just felt it was unfair to delete my article. I understand you get bombarded with silly articles about web forums and discussion boards, which are like vanity articles on someone's little "hole in the corner of the web." However, I really felt alt.tv.real-world is more noteworthy (along the lines of the infamy of the alt.fan.karl-malden.nose group, [which has a Wikipedia entry, mind you] as we associate, but are not affiliated with them) due to its history and widespread fanbase. Wikipedia has several articles on Usenet, flamewars, and trolls, etc, and I thought a few articles (like mine) that actually provide examples would help fill in those topics a little better. While "I'M IN UR" can probably go into the Image Macro section I didn't spot before, unilaterally removing the Jack Bauer meme on the grounds that it's "certainly not as big as Chuck Norris and others" is a little foolhardy. The "size" of the Chuck Norris variant is perhaps indisputable - as it has been featured on television, being read by Norris himself - and is probably the original, but the Bauer variety is at the very least directly comparable to the Mr. T and Vin Diesel ones, which manage un-reverted citations. In fact, if I were to unilaterally delete one of the four it would be the Vin Diesel one as I can't remember a single "Vin Diesel fact" off the top of my head, but can recall at least a few Chuck Norris, Mr. T and Jack Bauer "facts" without any trouble at all - meaning that Vin Diesel is "certainly not as big as Chuck Norris and others".
Though I wouldn't take it upon myself to just up and delete one because I hadn't heard of it - especially as Wikipedia tends to be a source of learning, even if it is just learning about facile internet memes...

Internet phenonmenon edits - It's difficult to come to a definition of an "internet phenomenon" (as you know). I see an internet phenomenon as some that spreads through the internet quickly, gaining widespread attention. Margolis doesn't really fit into this criteria because while she did become famous through the internet, her image only really stayed "in one place", she did a lot of work off of the internet, her big claim to fame was overtaken years ago by someone else. If the definition of an internet phenomenon allows something like Margolis (who I agree is popular, should be on wikipedia, etc.) and, say, the Star Wars Kid (who I personally think fits the idea of an internet phenomenon more closely) to be on the same page, the definition of an internet phenomenon is virtually useless.
Perhaps a solution could be to split the page into various subpages, with slightly varying definitions.
Say (the titles aren't perfect):
The big problem is definition. I've been trying to get people to come to some consensus for over a year (it feels that long anyhow), but hardly anyone seems to be interested. Cheers. -- Hamiltonian 05:08, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:WavyG.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Thanks for uploading Image:Goober Pyle.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot ( talk) 20:45, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading Image:Gomer Pyle.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot ( talk) 23:20, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Short-lived recurring characters on Saturday Night Live. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and " What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Short-lived recurring characters on Saturday Night Live. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles ( talk) 01:11, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Tim O'Hara requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. The article Allan Havey has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Found only passing mentions, name-drops, and TV guide listings. All cited roles are extremely minor one-shots
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. In particular, the
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach
consensus for deletion. Ten Pound Hammer • (

To tell the truth, in this article, Uncle Buck was the only film where Jean Louisa Kelly was a child actress. In this article, you will need to add the headline about the common mistakes and say that some contents in the film were cut when the film was on television. -- PJ Pete
All users will need to discuss changes in the article of the film, Uncle Buck. -- PJ Pete
Thanks for deleting the strong accent comment on the ZOOM article. I had never noticed it, and would have deleted it if I had. The comment had been there since SEPTEMBER 7!!!! SupaStarGirl 14:09, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
I have recently read your comments in the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rene Clausen area. Your statements saying that I did not verify Dr. Clausen's notability is false. I specifically left refernces that displayed his importance, contributions, and life in the world of modern choral arts. Did you look at them? Let me assure that he is most worthy to have his own article on wikipedia. If you disagree with my actions, then please tell me what I am doing wrong. I strongly wish for my article to remain on this site, and not be deleted! (my apologies for the "special notes")
Thank You, User:wittj
Good Job creating separate articles for Hannibal, Murdock and Faceman. And just let you know I took the liberty of creating Category:The A-Team characters, so all four articles in cluding BA's can be found there. I also created Category:The A-Team, for all the articles and categories related to The A-Team. Quasyboy 2:54, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

"Hi, I'm not going to argue with you because it is a pointless topic, but I just thought I would point you to the American Heritage Dictionary Fourth Ed [1]. As you can see, "Web site" is merely an accepted variant of the correct word, "website." No where does it state that this is the proper spelling of the term. The usage note points out the transition from the original "Web site" to "Website" and finally to "website," the accepted spelling of the word. I WIN!!!1!1!! I too enjoyed a good, hardy laugh when I came across your response to living in "2 places at the same time" on User talk:72.209.25.80. I thank you for that. And please believe me when I say that all Americans are not that stupid. Wavy G 03:46, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Hey, Wavy G! I've noticed that you've kept a watchful eye on Bill Brasky for a long time, making sure it doesn't grow out of control. Kudos! Now, I don't want to give the impression that I'm recruiting for edit wars all over the place, but... you might be interested in Girl next door and Tom Swifties, two other articles consisting mainly of too-long lists in need of trimming and regular maintenance. I tried, but there's only so many times I can delete Rory Gilmore and "I always go last in the gang bang," Tom said forthcomingly before it begins to feel like swimming against the tide. -- Quuxplusone 08:38, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Junior's Dream Bike, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Junior's Dream Bike satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also " What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Junior's Dream Bike and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Junior's Dream Bike during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. GreenJoe 20:00, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:WavyG.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. User:Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr) 21:57, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
The information you added to the Groundhog day article is probably better left out of the intro (which should generally summarize information already found in the article) but if you want to expand the plot section a bit I'd support that. -- Horkana ( talk) 04:15, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. -- Erwin85Bot ( talk) 01:09, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current
Arbitration Committee election. The
Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia
arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose
site bans,
topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The
arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. In particular, the
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach
consensus for deletion. Ten Pound Hammer • (
