Why did you remove my request for protection for the feyli page? It was a legitimate request for protection from vandalism. Can you state the reason? 5.150.236.238 ( talk) 15:11, 10 November 2013 (UTC) You have it entirely backwards. I was trying to remove vandalism edits by a vandal. I was filing for protection for a page when you removed it. Look at the previous edits in the feyli page, and look at the history of the contributions by the same user whose edits I removed. You have no case here. The same person whose edits you're protecting has insistently made tendetious edits and vandalized the feyli page for months now. Hello, I'm Iñigo, I edited your information on Kick Ass because I thought the information was relevant. The narrator spends the first minutes of the metrage telling us how he becomes kick ass. This is also important to understand how he is taken for a gay. I thoght this contributed to the understanding of how the character was formed. Moreover, this didn't seem to me a spoiler. — Preceding

User talk pages are the primary means for other editors to contact you - if this page is protected, that prevents good-faith anonymous editors from getting in touch with you. My opinion in this case, was that WP:INCUBATION for something that can be worked on by other while "waiting in the wings" out of article space could be better than an outright deletion. Hello. I have removed the CSD tag that you placed on the page Rintsikoita ja luudanvarsia because it does not appear to me to be a test page. It appears to be an article about a children's book written in the Finnish langauge. To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. While I agree that it doesn't look very notable, I've declined your speedy under A7. A7 is for things containing people, like, err, people, and clubs, companies, knitting circles, Churches (but not churches...) and grapefruit juggling teams, but not schools. It's also for web based stuff, for some odd reason. EPs are products and have to be prodded or AfDed (unless there is undeniable spam which makes anything speediable). If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Greg Parys requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Pesky ( talk … stalk!) 08:42, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
Hi Alex, just noticed that you quickly undid my changes on the article on Organic_solar_cell. The reason why I added a list of companies is that at the moment there is no such list, but many startups around. I am working in the OPV community (no, not for any of those companies) and have often been asked to provide such a list. As I don't have the time to watch for new companies in this field and others have spotted new companies I haven't heard of, the wikipedia article is probably the best place to keep an updated list. It's probably best, if you revert the version, because if I do it, you might undo it immediately, again;-). The Organic_solar_cell article in general needs an update and I hope to find some time soon to that, but hopefully these changes won't be undone that quickly... 141.30.87.136 ( talk) 17:23, 4 October 2011 (UTC). No warnings are required to block a user. We prefer to have graduated warnings, but there is no polic requirement. The more active the editor, the more serious the disruption, the more likely that fewer (or no) warnings will be given. You may be confused by the oft stated rejection at AIV, "user insufficiently warned" which is a valid reason for rejecting a block request, which is basically what AIV is. However, in cases of blatant vandalism, often no warnings at all are given, and in the case of rapid and repeated disruption, fewer warnings are often the case. Blocks are preventative; this editor was not engaging and was continuing the disruptive editing. Now, he must engage if he wishes to be unblocked, and hopefully will pledge to follow policies and become a productive editor. KillerChihuahua ?!? 21:04, 19 October 2011 (UTC)

Hello, man, and welcome to Wikipedia. It might be you didn't know, but Wikipedia doesn't consider Facebook, YT and co. as reliable sources. Moreover, Wikipedia must limit their addition (especially in article space), due to copyright violations on those websites. Just be careful while adding links to YouTube or similar sites... Alex discussion ★ 13:28, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
Hi Alex,
Thanks for the welcome. I understand the issue with reliability and possible copyright violations. I completely agree that my link to the facebook video is unlikely to meet those guidelines.
From what I understand however, wikipedia doesn't entirely regard youtube links as unreliable per se. On their webpage on reliable source material examples, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_source_examples, they do clarify that if the youtube video can be authenticated (for example, when published by the original copyright holder), then they CAN be regarded as primary source material.
Therefore, with regards to the latter youtube link, it is an advert put up by the official account of DC Entertainment TV advertising the upcoming Teen Titans TV Shorts. Hence, copyright violations are unlikely to be in issue and the reliability of the material is also likely to be sound.
Granted, the commercial doesn't prove everything stated in the paragraph i.e. the part on having the same voice actors. However, it does show that the series is indeed being revived in 2012 and it displays the teen titans in chibi form. Furthermore, one of the tags inserted by the video publisher is "teen titans", suggesting that the series revival is highly probable. In fact, the wikipedia page on DC Nation Shorts also cites the same video as the source for their statement on the Teen Titans' revival: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DC_Nation_Shorts#Teen_Titans (at footnote 8)
If the sentence on having the same voice actors is edited with a request for citations and the youtube link cited at the end of the first sentence, would the changes be acceptable? Also, I can add links to articles by reputable entertainment websites such as IGN: http://tv.ign.com/articles/121/1212575p1.html. However, I feel that these additional citations do not add extra value beyond the primary video source, as they merely comment on the very same youtube video link which I have cited.

I decided to merge the wikipages Acidamniococcaceae and Veillonellaceae because its desciption was emended and accepted in 2010 by the International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology (IJSEM) and listed in the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN) to that of Class Negativicutes, Order Selenomonadales and families Veillonellaceae and Acidaminococcaceae.
Also the wikipage Veillonellaceae contains all the genera of the newly emended class Negativicutes containing both families Veillonellaceae and Acidaminococcaceae. Therefore I reasoned that the genera circumscription of the wikipage Veillonellaceae is the exactly the same as that of the wikipage Negativicutes, but the wikipage Negativicutes has more references and a detailed 16S rRNA-based LTP phylogeny.
Both wikipages Acidamniococcaceae and Veillonellaceae has the same one reference. So why not make the wikipage Negativicutes the destination page for both? Videsh Ramsahai ( talk) 16:07, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Romana (singer).jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
{{

The Latvian Association for Support of Disabled People may well not be notable, however in cases like this where it's not a copyvio, attack page, vandalism or whatever, nominating for AFD just two minutes after the page has been created is bad form and is likely to be discouraging for the editor who created it. Not every editor has developed content in the first revision, so in such cases, it's best to give them a while to work on it before nominating it. Valenciano ( talk) 18:05, 4 November 2013 (UTC)

Hi. I'm sorry to say that I've reverted your close at Roman Catholic teachings on pacifism and Just War. While it looks certain for a Delete result, I'll quote you the a rule about non-admin closure: "Non-administrators should not close discussions in which they lack the technical ability to act upon the outcome.". As you can't delete it, you shouldn't close it. It was a little soon, too, as discussions are usually open for seven days. (Unless you get ten or known editors so who all !vote according to policy...) You can close certain Keeps, especially where the nominator withdraws, or Deletes where an admin has already deleted the article. In the first case, you don't have to do anything and in the second, there's nothing to do either as it's been done. If there's a total vote for Merge, watch out as you might be landed with actually doing it. I only ever closed certain Keeps before I got the mop, and I mainly close ones where I've deleted the article (I try to be tidy), or where the deleter has forgotten the AfD bit. It's good to get some practice in, if you have thoughts of becoming an admin. (I did many of the things thought necessary without even thinking about becoming an admin - then someone mailed me and suggested it...) I never close a Merge result, as I haven't got a clue about how to do it. Even admins don't know everything... <8-( Peridon ( talk) 16:34, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

If someone blanks a page, check if they are the only substantial contributor. Adding cats, correcting typos, tagging etc don't count as substantial content contribs. If they are, then tag G7. If they tag G7 themselves, do the check and leave the tag in place if it's right. Only remove it if they aren't the only contributor of content. Problems arise with IPs. Is the IP the author or not? I tend to assume not (and leave it alone). Sometimes it IS obvious (from edit summaries, etc). (Took me a while to understand blanking and G7 - I reverted some before I got the hang of it.) Hello. Please check out the rules of WP:BLPPROD: it says "To place a BLPPROD tag, the process requires that the article contain no sources in any form (as references, external links, etc.), which support any statements made about the person in the biography." At Francisco Portillo (footballer), you placed a BLPPROD within three minutes of the article being created, which is a bit quick off the mark, but the real problem is you placed it when the article already contained three sources, in the References section, which supported pretty well all the content of the article. Heya just wanted to drop by with a friendly reminder that sometimes it's a good idea when using huggle to check out the article history with certain kinds of edits. This revert definitely looked at first glance to be vandalism, but the article history shows that the edit that was reverted was actually restoring the long-term version of the article (see for example this revision from Jan 2012). Because that kind of thing is, unfortunately, not that uncommon, it's often a good idea to glance at the article's history if you see that kind of edit being made. Cheers. A7 is for things containing people, like, err, people, and clubs, companies, knitting circles, Churches (but not churches...) and grapefruit juggling teams, but not schools.

Dear Aleksa,
I recently added two citations to the wikipedia page on the Teen Titans TV Series at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teen_Titans_(TV_series) under the i.p. of 137.132.3.10
The citations were rolled back by you. These two citations were video links demonstrating the veracity of the information in the sentence. I have created my account simply to tell you that these edits are legitimate citations, and not spam. The previous I.P. address is the address of the public institution I am currently at.

Yours sincerely, Txingji2 ( talk) 14:17, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

{{
di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. The article Sector boundaries has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}

the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. In particular, the
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach

Cheers.
