An extended welcome

Welcome to Wikipedia. I've added a welcome message to the top of this page that gives a great deal of information about Wikipedia. I hope you find it useful.

Additionally, I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily.

Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.

If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.

Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.

I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. -- Hipal/Ronz ( talk) 22:51, 3 March 2020 (UTC) reply

Creating fake pages

It would appear that mmoda.org, the subject of the page you created, Manufactured_Museum_of_Digital_Art, was about a three day old web site when you created the Wikipedia page. You would clearly appear to be using Wikipedia for promotional reasons. Please explain. ThatMontrealIP ( talk) 00:22, 15 April 2020 (UTC) reply

Hey! I was looking into digital art and came across a few digital art museums. I recently saw that it has been put up for deletion but I am not by a desktop. I am relatively new still but I am not opposed to the deletion of the article. I sincerely apologize for the mistake. I found the page through Instagram originally and decided to create it once it was tagged with not credible I started looking more into and found nothing. I didn’t know it was so new but that explains why the website was bare when I first found it. I just wanted to try and contribute to the lack of digital art museums but it appears I may have got myself into a bit of a mess. I am pulling sources for the MoCDA museum already and have a few good ones. I meant no harm. Sincerely, UndyingCarrot ( talk) 00:41, 15 April 2020 (UTC) reply

Pardon my French, but that is Bullshit. You are clearly involved in a promotional effort, but that will be over in a few hours or so. Say goodbye to the fake entitites and articles. ThatMontrealIP ( talk) 00:43, 15 April 2020 (UTC) reply

please review my articles for The Other Art Fair and the Contemporary and Digital Art Fair. These are not promotional and are well cited. I simply went down the rabbit hole with these articles in hopes to provide real value to Wikipedia. Again, I apologize for the error on MMoDA and I have deleted and corrected errors made in the past on other non-notable articles. UndyingCarrot ( talk) 00:47, 15 April 2020 (UTC) reply
