I'm so glad to see a professional pianist here. I've played piano for ten years...stuff like Fur Elise, some Debussy (Engulfed Cathedral)...violin is really my forte, but I'm dying to play a concerto. For violin, as I'm sure you know, there are five major concertos: Mendelssohn, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Brahams, and Sibelius. My question is: can you PLEASE tell me what is the first concerto you would recommend a pianist playing? Any general direction would be terrific, since I'm not taking lessons currently. The Düben family is usually seen as an important part of Swedish music history, but it's not as if Gustav was yet Swedish in some ethnic sense anyway (which would mostly be an anachronism when dealing with the 17th century). BTW, are you familiar with the Düben collection?
Anyway, it seems that my correction of his birthyear may have been mistaken. Svenskt biografiskt lexikon, a standard reference work for Swedish biography, gives his birthyear as 1624, but the D volume is rather dated; the more up-to-date encyclopedia Nationalencyklopedin has 1628. I had a question about the Aria...I can't remember which measure it's in (don't have the music in front of me), but you know the three-note chord in the right hand somewhere in the middle of the music? Glenn Gould (the only other recording I've heard) rolls the chord from the top...is it just personal preference?

Welcome, Trisdee, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.
Now that you are a member, you might be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.
In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.
I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee , KnowledgeOfSelf, JoanneB, Titoxd and FireFox. The elections have ended.

Sawadee krap. Funny I haven't noticed you as an active Thai editor yet, even though I usually monitor (and also work on) the articles on Thailand a lot. When I came across Trisdee na Patalung by accident, I noticed that it is you, and you are from the "na Patalung" family. I am very interested in Thai history, and thus came across several of the "na"-families already ("na Ranong", "na Nakhon" and "na Songkhla"), but haven't yet read anything about the na Phatthalung yet. Were there any notable historical persons in your family (probably the provincial governors of Phatthalung Province), which you could find sources about? Sadly I don't speak Thai yet, so I am limited to english resources, which are often quite limited. And that it is possible collect knowledge on such normally obscure topics like minor historical persons of Thailand is IMHO a big advantage of Wikipedia. andy 11:05, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Sawasdee krup Trisdee, I discovered your most impressive homepage when I looked at the article-history for the Buxtehude article and noticed a Thai name there. I'm Australian but I visit Thailand frequently and am very fond of the country and people. The reason I was at the Buxtehude article was that someone recommended him to me (I'm ashamed to say I had never heard of him), so I bought the first DVD of his I saw, Membra Jesu Nostri, and am now a confirmed fan. To find a Thai who is also a baroque musician and scholar is an interesting overlap of some of my areas of interest, so I thought I would say hello. As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Thank you for quality articles such as Membra Jesu Nostri and Piano Concerto No. 12 (Mozart), for media files playing music and showing pronunciation of Thai names, for "I love to sip on hot chocolate while listening to Bach cantatas — especially with friends", - Tris, professional player and composer, you are an awesome Wikipedian!
