Alvaro Dias Huizar (born July 28, 1979) is a Mexican (mother) Venezuelan (father and born) attorney [2] and legal scholar of comparative law and international private law for the University of Nantes [3] and the University of Southampton [4] [5]. In 2010 he take part of the cycle "Humaniser la Globalisation" in the College de France. He was nominated to the Young Global Leaders, World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland in 2012. He received his doctorate in law from the University of Nantes, France (2008-2014).

Chess player

He learned to play chess at the age of five in Mexico city and very young he defeated in a simultaneous exhibition the Argentinian Grand Master Julio Bolbochan. After his high school in Venezuela, he returned to Mexico winning several local tournaments during his college studies.
