In order to complete your request, Kaspar needs permission to perform the following actions on your behalf on all projects of this site:

I understand your concern, which is why I answered your questions :).
Your suggestions are welcome for improvement at WP:Persondata, which is the location I believe TS would prefer to store any help documentation not specific to a particular page in the tool. That said, most of the documentation arises in the context of each of the challenges where you would expect to need it. E.g., each of the buttons provides a hover tooltip; each page provides links to the properties you will be importing to Wikidata, and the help pages on Wikidata for those particular properties.
I might disagree that it is rough, but I have been working with TS for a bit now, and if you see specific cases where a bit of improvement could be made (and provide suggested remedies), feel free to make the suggestion and I'm sure he'll work with you. -- Izno ( talk) 01:30, 16 February 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for the change in the UI, moving to "the next challenge for this item" rather than "a random challenge of the same type". It reflects the normal workflow and I was intending to request it.
However, I'm not sure what "ulteriorly import it" means. Perhaps it should be "withdraw it from consideration"? David Brooks ( talk) 00:57, 16 March 2016 (UTC)
Your bot added an authority tag to a hoax article called John G. (Jack) Samson. An experienced user called Bearcat even edited it. I have a feeling like if we IPs were given more powers (the buttons) we could handle a couple of things better than some admins or patrols, :-) including soundly making the distinction between real vandals wandering around as respected users (want names?) and people unjustly called so. Take care. -- 176.239.115.13 ( talk) 07:22, 19 March 2016 (UTC)

In case you missed it, the Spanish Wikipedia now has es:Plantilla:Control de autoridades. It is pulling data from Wikidata. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:30, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
That heading is my edit summary a few minutes ago [7] at David Dietz.
There is a page where discrepancies uncovered by Kasparbot are discussed. I don't recall it, and don't quickly find it because my Watchlist is too big. That may be for {{ Persondata}} migration only, where this concerns {{ Authority control}} migration.
The problem is [1] that DNB has two Person pages for this writer of which Wikidata gives only the not-very-useful http://d-nb.info/gnd/127548319; compare http://d-nb.info/gnd/1071097091 now to the biography footer by my local definition. And [2] I don't know how to manage this at Wikidata. (I do know how to report errors to DNB, but this may not be considered an error and I need to learn the other.)
During 2015, I somewhere asked or remarked about Wikidata rank (eg, add GND=1071097091 and prefer it, or deprecate GND=127548319). I did not learn what is proposed (may now be a guideline). I would not delete GND=127548319 and not happily deprecate it because, for example, cs.wikipedia may prefer the other page at DNB, for the catalogue record that it links [8].
For the moment let me try you alone, as it is too late for me. Later perhaps I will think what may be appropriate to say at Authority control template talk. Good night. -- P64 ( talk) 01:13, 25 March 2016 (UTC)

I don't know how to correct the birth date of an actual living person. Louis Ferreira is listed on Wikipedia as having been born on February 20, 1967; however, an interview (posted both as audio and transcript) with the actor on his personal website at http://www.louisferreira.org/Ferreira_Fest_74.html [1] reveals that he celebrated his 50th birthday this year, which would place his birth date on February 20, 1966. Since this goes into the "persondata" field I assume it's a little more complicated than just making the change and providing a reference. I went to the KasparBot page and I really don't understand any of it. Could you please point me in the right direction on how to correct this mistake? Thanks!! It's not helpful and wastes time when the above appears in the edit summary for no good reason. I followed the link to see what the problem was, only to be greeted by "There are no challenges for this article. If this article exists, this means that the migration is complete and that no further manual work is needed". If there are no challenges, please do not ask editors to follow links to deal with the non-existent problem. Martin of Sheffield ( talk) 10:08, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
Terry Goodkind list of challenges has an "under development" where the link to "decide this now" normally would be. Is this a problem with all birthplaces? -- Izno ( talk) 16:33, 31 January 2016 (UTC)
Other feedback: When I click on the "decide now" from an article's list of challenges, the challenge should redirect me back to the article list of challenges rather than to the next challenge in the bucket. E.g. from Gates McFadden list of challenges to Aliases 3113 back to Gates McFadden, instead of from Aliases 3113 to Aliases N. -- Izno ( talk) 16:37, 31 January 2016 (UTC)

KasperBot has put up some challenges regarding the biographical data on this subject - specifically his place of birth. (I wasn't aware of this Wikidata migration but did read through the documents.) I have extreme hesitation to authorize a third party to edit on my behalf because I don't want responsibility for entries that may violate WP:BLP. This subject is very well known in his professional field but is certainly not a household name. Exact place and/or date of birth would seriously compromise his privacy. In this case I feel safe to write that he was born in "Greater London" as it is a wide geographical area but would not get more specific. It's also safe to say he was born about 1960 or late 1959 as he was elected to the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2008 and they listed his age then as 48. Blue Riband► 12:40, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
Hi, Please could you look at making species:Template:Authority control fetch its values from Wikidata, and then using your bot to add it to pages there? Note that it is used on user pages, so a substitute would be needed, if that ceased to be so. Some of the parameters may be unique to that project, also. Your info on Reinhold Suhren is wrong regarding the date his Torpedo hit the SS Delisle off the Coast of Florida. If Kasparbot is intended to ask users to decide the correctness of data, it doesn't do a good job for users who, though they may have good understanding of a knowledge domain, don't have experience with Wikidata. As someone who's been editing here for over eight years, I was confused by my first sight of Challenges to Richard Asher. Here are my impressions:
I propose that this bot be reviewed by the sort of users who are expected to make these decisions, to determine whether it is fit for purpose. Comments are welcome, but please reflect before replying to say that the users should have read a load of help or OAuth pages, as suggested in the What is "authorization" all about? section above. - Pointillist ( talk) 22:41, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
I agree that the edit summary could link to WP:Persondata (I assume this is what you mean). We should talk about what links to replace in the edit summary, since edit summaries can be only so large. Do you have a proposal? The FAQ is "new" in that it didn't exist before the removals started, so that's probably why it hasn't previously been linked.
On an aside, the FAQ is linked also in the Kaspar UI in the Persondata dropdown at the top of the page. Do you think this can or should be moved to be more prevalent?
I made a suggestion regarding this at #Challenge with Terry Goodkind ("Other feedback") which I think would partially help or in fact actually help with this request. What do you think?
Regarding logging out, leaving the browser session will do so, but I don't personally know whether there is a way to use the API to say "I want to withdraw my permission". T.seppelt?
Regarding the lag between two challenges, see comments at d:User talk:T.seppelt#Extremely slow interface for challenges. I've since added this at WP:Persondata#FAQ.

This Saturday we have a edit a thon and training session in London for the organisation Full Fact. I have been told they mostly will be journalists with good end-user computer skills but will not have access to any special software packages z.B (R 3.2.3 and ggplot2 2.0.0). They are particularly interested in editing page en:Opinion polling for the United Kingdom European Union membership referendum so I must explain to them a simple method of adding to the dataset, and verifying that their edits have been successful. I attempted to add some raw data last night just using the standard wikitext editor. At this point I can go no further until the diagram has been re-rendered which I believe you do manually. I think that I have not broken the dataset! Can you give me further advice on how often the diagram is re-rendered? What is the best method to edit the dataset? Is there a way for their coordinator to request a re-render? Is there a simple way to parse the wikitable entry to create the csv line in the dataset? We are short of time- it would take me too long to create one.
The diagram is a beautiful piece of work and I expect it will be well viewed in the next 40 days.

Hello
I'm not sure if I'm asking at the correct place, but since "KasparBot" has been very active in changing and deleting editions I would like to ask before making one myself.
Everyone is familiar with Charpentier's Introduction to his "Te Deum", now known as the "Eurovision theme". However, the WP article on him gives his year of birth as 1643, not 1634, as do many earlier sources (the Encyclopedia Britannica, the Oxford Dictionary of Music, and others). Can this be verified? Could this possibly be just a typing error?
I hope someone interested will read this and respond. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Steinireyk ( talk • contribs) 16:53, 16 May 2016 (UTC)
@ Gymel: I wouldn't call it "settled", since she only consulted some school registers. She should also have checked or re-checked the church register entry for Charpentier's death, which usually listed the deceased person's age. And she doesn't address the earlier claims for 1634.
But I suppose I must leave things as they are. Thanks for your reply. ---- Steinireyk —Preceding undated comment added 23:46, 16 May 2016 (UTC)
I have received several notifications from Kasparbot, asking for authorisation or for help, but quite honestly, I don't have a clue how to help, why my authorisation is necessary and how it will affect the pages I edit if I do authorise it. You senior editors have some right esoteric language you use and I'm afraid I have neither the time nor inclination to read through reams of text in order to find our something which an effective communicator can tell me in three sentences.
I'm happy to help where required, but I'm not going to read a long list of instructions in order to engage when the message I'm getting is that wikidata is more efficient than perondata and all persondata should gradually be migrated to wikidata. So do it. If you need me, you'd better make it a lot clearer why and how. 3world Kid ( talk) 19:21, 12 June 2016 (UTC)

Hi,
In case you missed it, the Spanish Wikipedia now has es:Plantilla:Control de autoridades.
Juhayman al-Otaybi wikipedia page having a tag Infobox criminal, could not make changes to it. Juhayman al-Otaybi neither represented to Umm Al-Qura University nor he was student. But still Google Knowledge base result shows his education refrs to Umm Al-Qura University, but has studied through Islamic University of Madinah. Our prime object is we dont want to see him in Google Knowledge base results as Notable Alumni. Please suggest how can we proceed to make the changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Younusm ( talk • contribs) 12:11, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
Thanks!! Bczogalla ( talk) 18:25, 27 March 2016 (UTC)
I think I figured it out, thanks to some kind folks at the Village Pump. I'd still like to know what KasparBot needs and if I can help. When I go to the link it asks me to give KasparBot permission to do something or other and I'm afraid I'll buy a washer and dryer if I click on it. Sorry, I don't speak Wiki-Admin, it's all Greek to me, but please let me know if I can help! Thanks for your time. Bczogalla ( talk) 23:45, 27 March 2016 (UTC)
I was reverting some serial vandal-edits and KasparBot's wikidata gathering got caught up in the sweep. Just wanted to let you know, don't know how to fix it myself. Thanks, Shearonink ( talk) 18:44, 5 April 2016 (UTC)
I am unfamiliar with persondata OR wikidata and thus wouldn't have a clue about what to do and how to check, but could you please check whatever data KasparBot has migrated for Ignacio Padilla? At the time of its migration-edit, the page was in a vandalized state. See here. The last unvandalized version is here. AddWittyNameHere ( talk) 22:33, 6 April 2016 (UTC)

Cheers, Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:31, 13 April 2016 (UTC)
Do you have some estimate of how many interlanguage links are still in English Wikipedia? -- Magioladitis ( talk) 21:43, 12 April 2016 (UTC)

hi,
I would like to understand what this migration from persondata to wikidata is all about. The date of birth, place of birth and place of rest have been referred from the published versions of the biography about half a century ago.
Can you pls help what needs to be done to retain this data in the wiki article for this saint and not remove the data ?
Thanks K Bala Kbala1055 ( talk) 16:38, 17 April 2016 (UTC)
Your info on Reinhold Suhren is wrong regarding the date his Torpedo hit the SS Delisle off the Coast of Florida. Reinhold's torpedo killed my Great Uncle Oiler/Fireman James Lloyd Rose on the Delisle on May 4, 1942. Not the 5th. I've confirmed this with the records at the National Archives in Washington DC back in 2011. Hi. If you wish to transfer my data to Wikidata, it will be fine with me. Hi. Nice work in starting with this. Just out of interest, do you have any figures of how many articles are left to be done and timescales for the completion of this task? Thanks. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 08:52, 12 February 2016 (UTC)

The phrase "Authority control moved to Wikidata" should be changed to "Authority control data moved to Wikidata". Occasionally some Wikipedia editors are deleting the Authority Control. Thor Dockweiler ( talk) 03:37, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
Copied from de:Benutzer Diskussion:T.seppelt#File:UK EU referendum polling.svg:

Hi, about your latest revision of this article. The article previously showed the birth and death years of the more famous younger brother, the article still focuses on Bankim's life instead of Sanjib's. This POV needs revamping. I had changed the years as per the standard Bengali biographical dictionary. Same data is also present in bn Wikipedia and bn Wikisource entries on this person. If u have more query, feel free to ask. Hrishikes ( talk) 14:40, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
