Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you have been adding your signature to some of your edits to articles. This is a common mistake to make and has probably already been corrected. There is no need to sign your edits to article content, as the article's edit history serves the function of attributing contributions, so you only need to use your signature to make discussions more readable, such as on article talk pages or project pages such as the Village Pump. If you would like further information about distinguishing types of pages, please see What is an article?. Again, thank you for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! Thank you. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Heraldry. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Yopie ( talk) 16:57, 21 September 2010 (UTC) reply

Heraldic artists

Hello.

Why we appreciate your attempts to edit, there really is no reason that the modern artists should be named over historic artists like Duerer or Stroehl, or more specialized ones like Heim. For instance, while Jamieson and Bromley are among the most sought after British heraldists today, they are only that, the most sought after today. Each generation brings about several new artists, and it has been that way for centuries and presumably will continue such for centuries. There is nothing that sets the modern artists above and beyond historical artists, so naming them and not their predecessors gives undo weight to modern heraldists.

Notablility

Being a published author does not equate to notability. For a living person, we need to see substantial coverage in independent third-party sources. All the material in the article needs to be supported by such sources. Please read the links in the previous text and then see if you can satisfy them. If you can't, then the subject is not notable for Wikipedia purposes. Yworo ( talk) 03:34, 25 September 2010 (UTC) reply

Again, let's stay on topic -- Xander began attacking this page after I attempted to add the leaders in the field to his heraldry page. Xander is a heraldic artist but lacks the skill of these Masters and he is NOT an expert on the subject. Futhermore, HE is not recognized within the heraldry world. He is making changes based on his opinion and he himself put up every citation on Mr. Jamieson's page and really showed his hand when he placed one next to the artist's parents. You are both now attempting to cloud the issue by quoting Wiki guidelines but the fact remains that you are simply vandalizing the page, harrassing members and abusing your Wiki priviledges. Two Wiki editors and leaders in the heraldry field are watching Mr. L's behavior here. Studioce ( talk) 15:25, 25 September 2010 (UTC)Studioce reply

Edit warring

Warning
Warning

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly, as you are doing at Andrew Stewart Jamieson. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you.

It's all rather pointless because if you don't provide sources and establish notability, the article will simply be deleted. Yworo ( talk) 20:12, 25 September 2010 (UTC) reply

You have been blocked from editing for a short time for your disruption caused by your engagement in an edit war. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{ unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
