- That's something we're trying to fix. Practically all Good and Featured articles include the cast names. Consistency among those calls for the cast names.

- I don't really see the reason to be skeptical about it. If you're still skeptical, I've found the MOS policy for it here. Either way, when an article has been reviewed and recognized as a good or featured article, it's generally best to try to gain consensus or ask others opinions on the talk page of the article before any major changes are undertaken.
