File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:SJ Close Up.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Sjacoustic/SJ, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Acather96 ( talk) 16:30, 28 September 2011 (UTC) reply

Autobiography (if SJ is you)

Please do not write an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline Writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedians with articles.) Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you.

Also, please review carefully WP:MUSIC which describes criteria for inclusion in Wikipedia. If you don't meet those criteria, Wikipedia cannot have an article on you. ~ Amatulić ( talk) 19:47, 30 September 2011 (UTC) reply

Response to note on Autobiography

This article was authored and posted here by Mark Ingram. Personal contact information can provided if necessary to avoid deletion. Further, there are numerous sources referenced in the footnotes from which the author has drawn information to draft the article. The sources can be followed to verify all the information detailed in the article.

In response to the notability standard as detailed at WP:Music, SJ meets the standards of notability as follows:

1) Has been the subject of multiple third-party published works. See the references section for several examples.

2) Has charted on the national FMQB charts, as reported by several publications, including previously published FMQB charts that are no longer available online. Diligent research on FMQB charts will reveal that this is the second most reputable tier of radio charting, after Billboard. SJ has also had a single chart on Sirius/XM, as well as on Broadjam.com, as referenced in the article. Following the footnote references in the article will verify this.

8) See the Career Highlights section of the article of the article for all of the awards.

9) See the Career Highlights section of the article for song competitions. These are verifiable from the sources referenced.

11) See the footnote for DogStarRadio- evidence of rotation on Sirius/XM's "Coffeehouse" Channel.

12) See reference to the Career Highlights for all of SJ's radio and TV appearances.

Based on the page referenced of notability, it is only required that one of the above be met to fulfill the notability standard. These points above should sufficiently show that SJ is a notable independent artist, easily verifiable by following the references listed in the article.

Article renamed

Your article has been renamed from "SJ" to Scott Jablonski. Quotes should be avoided in titles, and there wasn't a chance of this person being the primary topic for SJ. Favonian ( talk) 16:26, 1 October 2011 (UTC) reply

Response to "Article renamed" note

While the two letters SJ may be searched for various topics, the SJ disambiguation page does not lead to any article titled, simply SJ, or anything closely similar. SJ, being an internationally known artist, and being the only title of an article bearing those two letters, with nothing more, would make sense as a primary topic.

If this is impossible, then what would be a more appropriate title very similar to SJ? Scott Jablonski is not appropriate because the artist is known nationally and internationally as SJ, and is not known by his birth name. <span style="font-size: smaller;"

Sjacoustic ( talk) 17:25, 1 October 2011 (UTC) reply

I have moved the article back. The name "SJ- An Acoustically Soulful Folkster" is hardly neutral. You have been warned about the consequences of your obvious conflict of interest, and this was one of them. Please do not try to rename the article again. Instead, use the requested move process to propose a name that is in accordance with WP:NAMING. Favonian ( talk) 17:34, 1 October 2011 (UTC) reply
What would be something similar to SJ that would be appropriate? Perhaps SJ- Acoustic Recording Artist? I am waiting for a response to my first move request. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sjacoustic ( talkcontribs) 17:46, 1 October 2011 (UTC) reply
The first request was denied, because he obviously isn't the primary topic for SJ. Keep it simple. How about SJ (singer)? Favonian ( talk) 17:50, 1 October 2011 (UTC) reply
