Ah, welcome to my humble talk page. Please, all questions, comments, and concerns in the NEW BUSINESS section with whatever title you so desire, and I will sort it when it's been taken care of, or whenever I feel like it.

HERE ARE A FEW NOTES. PLEASE READ BEFORE MAKING A NEW POINT.

1. I make new season changes to MLB uniforms during the opening month of the season, usually a week or two after the beginning of the regular season. This is because during Spring Training when I used to do it, teams have begun wearing uniforms specifically for Spring Training, and I have to wait until the regular season for the uniforms to see game use, and for the combination of jersey, pants, socks, caps, etc. become evident. Before that, most new jerseys don't even get seen with anything but a pair of jeans, and decisions are still not final yet.

2. The Wikipedia MLB Uniform Images show a team's home, away, and alternate uniforms. Special one-off uniforms are not included, such at the Stars and Stripes uniforms, or one-time throwbacks. Including all of these would cause the image to get way too unwieldy for some teams. The goal is to have a standard-size image that is at a legible size. If it is in regular, scheduled rotation, it is included. If a team never uses their home or away uniform, though, it is still included, due to the official designation by the team. City Connect uniforms have made things complicated with some teams planning regular use and others pretty much boxing them by now. I will see if they have regular use and if they do, they're included.

3. These are images of the current uniform. That means if you saw a uniform in play, it should look exactly like this image to every detail possible at the size. That means patches as well. If there's a new memorial or special event patch that I haven't added, please let me know.

4. There is one instance of each jersey shown. The primary part of the uniform, at least in my opinion, is the jersey. If the same jersey is shown with different pants, socks, caps, etc. it doesn't count as a separate uniform. All combinations will not be shown.

5. While I created the original NFL template, I no longer maintain them. Please contact the users credited with the recent uploads for anything relating to them.

6. While I created the current NHL template, I no longer maintain them. Please contact whoever edited that individual image (there's a lot of different users) for anything relating to them. For anything that involved the template, though, I suppose I'd be the one to contact.

THANK YOU.

Hey, I love the work that you do for all the uniforms for the MLB. Do you have any interest in making those same uniform templates but for the national baseball teams of each country? ANTbook365 ( talk) 03:43, 27 February 2023 (UTC) reply

Sorry. I didn't even get MLB done last year. Perhaps in time for the next tourney. The Silent Wind of Doom ( talk) 16:25, 16 April 2023 (UTC) reply

Patches

Hi, love your uniform templates. I was wondering if you could add the number memorial patches for the Giants and Mets and an advertisement patch for the Pirates. Also, the Orioles City Connect uniform is supposed to show the advertisement patch and not their regular patch like the other uniforms, so I figured that you could fix that as well. WilliamsKat13304 ( talk) 00:51, 4 July 2024 (UTC) reply

Yeah. Sorry about that. Got prepared to do the updates, but at the time, the Giants were wearing their Seals alts at Rickwood and for some reason Pittsburgh wore their City Connects the entire weekend the patch was displayed. In the meantime, some things in life got me busy over the last week.
Given how patches can change color scheme and surrounding stitching on different uniforms (see the Brewers' Nationwide Mutual ad patch), I like to see all the uniforms first. This is the case with the Mets right now as they're putting the Harrelson and Grote on a rectangular patch that appears to be the same light gray on the gray and City Connect and white on the white. I'm gonna wait for the blue to be worn to see how that looks. The black's shoulder is hidden behind the blue, so I don't need to worry about it.
Speaking of which, most teams switch their ad patches so that the ad is on their players' off hand. This way a right-handed hitter's left shoulder, which faces the camera while at bat, shows the ad more prominently. Texas doesn't switch it at all. For some reason... Baltimore puts the T. Rowe patch on their dominant arm in the opposite of common practice. As there's no way to really show the switching, I just decided to show every uniform as a right-handed player given how much more common it is. Because of this, the T. Rowe patch is there like all the other uniforms. It's just behind the shoulder of their black alt. The Silent Wind of Doom ( talk) 10:58, 8 July 2024 (UTC) reply

MLB uniform gallery (gone, but want back)

I LOVE your uniform page. For years, I had it as my wiki-home page. Some time ago, it changed from being a gallery of all the images to a list of links. Is there anyway to get the gallery of all images back. I now have the gallery of NPB (Japan) as my home page, but would prefer the MLB gallery of uniforms wholeheartedly. Thank you so much for your work! 2600:6C55:F0:9DB0:4DC:8129:7EEB:FB5F ( talk) 19:02, 6 July 2024 (UTC) reply

I know what you're talking about. Having the gallery be images would be more helpful when I'm going to change things as images read more quickly than text. But I haven't the foggiest why the change was made. I assumed it was just the site changing how galleries are displayed somewhere along the line. It wasn't anything I did. It may be a matter of the images being non-free, as the site likes to clamp down on the display of such images. They've taken to even removing any past versions of images from being viewed as those past revisions are not currently being used in any article. I dunno.
