Thank you for your support in the RfA on my behalf. It is an honor to have received your expression of confidence. To be chosen as an administrator requires a high level of confidence by a broad section of the community. Although I received a great deal of support, at this time I do not hold the level of confidence required, and the RfA did not pass. It is my wish that I will continue to deserve your confidence. Sincerely, -- BostonMA talk 18:38, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
Hey Samir, wish you a very happy 2007...Cheers! Cribananda 17:21, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
Hi there, I'd like to open either an article for deletion or proposed merger discussion for this article (possibly with the Warren Glowatski article as a group nomination). I have recently spent some time improving the referencing, notability claims and accuracy of the Reena Virk article, and I was surprised to see that there was an article on Warren Glowatski but not on Kelly Marie Ellard. While Warren was the only male charged in the case, Kelly is arguably more important and more deserving of an article as the convicted female murderer (the case sparked a moral panic over girl violence in particular in Canada). There are roughly as many references (mentioned on 157 pages) to Kelly and her life and involvement as there is to Warren and his life and involvement (mentioned on 147 pages) in the main book about this case, Under the Bridge, by Rebecca Godfrey according to the Amazon search inside function. Furthermore, while Warren was convicted in 1999 and served a 9 year sentence, Kelly is currently going into her fourth controversial retrial and continues to be an ongoing news story.
I then saw that the Kelly redirect has an article history behind it but was curious that apparently there was no afd or merge discussion on the talk page (I made a revert attempt at the time with a puzzled comment that the redirect seems very odd - I wasn't sure what was going on). From a communication by User:Fighting for Justice (who reverted my revert, stating that I had "no right" to do such a thing), I understand that you redirected this article in order to resolve a dispute with User:Fighting for Justice over the issue of ethnicity in the case. I appreciate that you probably saw this as the simplest and fairest way of resolving the dispute with Fighting for Justice. But I feel that the subjects of the relevance of the ethnicity aspect, and the necessity of the murderer articles in general should be given an airing in a community discussion. I myself might favour a merge of both articles (not just one) into the main article, but I believe that others should have the chance to comment (I tend to be a deletionist/mergist/exclusionist, but I am even more in favour of community process. I also tend to favour deletion/merging of "associated" separate articles into a main article as much as possible - on the other hand, I'm very aware that I'm in something of a minority in this regard).
Whatever conclusion is reached from a community discussion, they will be more satisfactory for have the backing of a group consensus addressing the status of both the Kelly and Warren articles.
Thanks for considering this Bwithh 07:55, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

I am extremely grateful that you took the time to advise me on to improve as a Wikipedian and I'd like to assure you that I'll do my level best to develop my skills here to a point where you may feel you could trust me with the mop.

Why was Death by Gluten removed? It contained actual facts on actual people and an actual disease. With your profession I would think you would be sympathetic to the idea that not enough people are educated on this disease, and bringing the facts out in a humorous way, especially through lyrics and song, is a very good way of getting people to listen. Their were no deceitful facts, no factual errors. Maybe they did throw in a little something extra to make people laugh, but thats the best way to get people to listen. I urge you to repost the article, if it wakes one person up to whats going on in their body, if it makes one person question their digestion and listen to lyrics that get them to realize that they are sick and need to do something about it, isn't it worth it?
Thanks for closing out the Michael Donnelly AfD -- those socks were getting a bit much! Not sure if you noticed, but the AfD was a bundle - the other article is The Mystic Battle Trilogy.
