You have stated that Thorsten J. "Pattberg is the author of the book "East-West Dichotomy" (2009)". However, the World Catalog has no listing for such a book. Please provide verifiable publishing information (publisher, city, year and ISBN number). At the moment, it appears to be nothing more than a self-published web blog. — CactusWriter | needles 14:30, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for your advice. In this case, the "Self-published sources" policy may apply in good faith for the book The East-West dichotomy (2009).
Main article: Wikipedia:Verifiability#Self-published sources (online and paper): "Self-published sources are largely not acceptable, though may be used only in limited circumstances, with caution, when produced by an established expert on the topic of the article whose work in the relevant field has previously been published by reliable third-party publications.."
With his insightful book (www.east-west-dichotomy.com), Mr. Pattberg contributed to the academic discourse and this difficult topic, and he is indeed an expert on the East-West discourse. Also, I discovered these links; he has been around (Chinese Academy of Sciences, German Max-Planck Institute, Tokyo University... holding talks on East-West topics): http://groups.google.com/group/CDF-Tongji/browse_thread/thread/1d968fdd2f24feb4/702222251f33a8bd http://www.picb.ac.cn/XuGuangqi/Papers%20and%20Abstracts.html http://www.mis.mpg.de/people/former/2008.html http://www2.kokugakuin.ac.jp/shukyobunka/IACM/IACMprogram-jpver3.pdf http://www.oir.pku.edu.cn/newoir/2005/Article/ShowArticle.asp?ArticleID=3985 etc.
May I kindly ask you for your second opinion to accept the self-published source The East-West dichotomy (2009), under the special circumstances, and not to delete the entry Thorsten J. Pattberg any time soon. Best regards. Sakura china ( talk) 15:31, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
