Hello, I'm 99.136.252.89. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions because it appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a " soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. 99.136.252.89 ( talk) 00:21, 22 January 2013 (UTC) reply

I'm also concerned re: the timing of your involvement. If you're connected to either the subject, the film you appear to be promoting, or user MarieGoodwin, that should be made transparent. As well, you may wish to read WP:COI, WP:ADVERT and WP:MULTIPLE. 99.136.252.89 ( talk) 00:21, 22 January 2013 (UTC) reply

You know what, I do not understand why you are making me feel like a criminal. ridiculous. so what if I am related to Marie Goodwin or whomever might appreciate Charles Eisenstein's work. I am not promoting anything, and I am taking my time, but of course, because I believe Charles Eisenstein's work is important and needs to be included in Wikipedia because it's changing history. It is a fact that he was featured in a video and that it became very popular. where do you see the promotion in this statement? what are facts versus promotions? I do not appreciate this.

I think you very much need to read Wikipedia's guidelines before editing. Conflict of interest matters a great deal, since it compromises neutrality. I'm not questioning the importance of his work. As to whether it's changing history, neither you nor anyone else have provided reliable sources to support that claim, nor that the video 'became very popular', a rather subjective claim so far. There's nothing here that isn't aimed at promoting, in this case something you're passionate about. That's good, but WP:SOAPBOX is worth a look, too. 99.136.252.89 ( talk) 00:44, 22 January 2013 (UTC) reply
