However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

It was good fortune more than anything. I was running a blog about associate/affiliate cricket, and thus linked to CricketEurope a lot. This got the attention of the owner, John Elder, who asked me if they could republish some of my blog posts - 3 months later I was writing for CricketEurope! I started doing their tournament coverage in 2008, during which I remember having a chat with the parents of a then 16 year old Irish player who would go onto greater things. That's fascinating. I will definitely be picking your brains (unless you object) at some point. I'm going to start a blog just to see what happens and get my hands dirty. I think after years of writing just as a self-serving hobby (i.e. because I like it, not that I ever intended to try to publish anything) I might as well jump into something.
