CricketEurope

It was good fortune more than anything. I was running a blog about associate/affiliate cricket, and thus linked to CricketEurope a lot. This got the attention of the owner, John Elder, who asked me if they could republish some of my blog posts - 3 months later I was writing for CricketEurope! I started doing their tournament coverage in 2008, during which I remember having a chat with the parents of a then 16 year old Irish player who would go onto greater things. It's a lot of fun, and I get to make a bit of money, but not much, through it too. Andrew nixon ( talk) 19:58, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

That's fascinating. I will definitely be picking your brains (unless you object) at some point. I'm going to start a blog just to see what happens and get my hands dirty. I think after years of writing just as a self-serving hobby (i.e. because I like it, not that I ever intended to try to publish anything) I might as well jump into something. I suspect it will just be my wife who reads it, but she's American and wouldn't get it... S.G.(GH) ping! 20:32, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Started it. Lets see where it goes. S.G.(GH) ping! 10:53, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

Where can I find it?! Andrew nixon ( talk) 11:59, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

Pretty good actually, especially the "dot balls" article. Andrew nixon ( talk) 09:54, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
Why thank you! It's always been a pet argument of mine (and many others) that they should stop wasting good single opportunities waiting for a boundary ball that might not come. I think Trott is an excellent ODI batsman for us because of this. S.G.(GH) ping! 10:03, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
