Remember to mark your edits as minor only when they genuinely are (see Wikipedia:Minor edit). "The rule of thumb is that an edit of a page that is spelling corrections, formatting, and minor rearranging of text should be flagged as a 'minor edit'." AdamJacobMuller 22:45, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
Note that only once out of 80+ legs on the Amazing Race has a team won a prize, without winning that individual leg. To include winners details for every prize is superfluous. -- Madchester 21:14, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
To make an external link to another site, just surround the whole URL with single brackets, and put a single space and then the text you want to appear after the URL. In other words, writing this:

Both of the incidents you refer to occured on April Fools Day, a day in which even wikipedia administrators go a little crazy =). First, someone unprotected the main page, and an anonymous user made a minor edit, and then later, an administrator changed the page to say something about monkeys for a few seconds. They were just doing it to be funny and different, and it doesn't appear that any real harm was done, though a bunch of editors were pretty upset. — Spangineer [es] (háblame) 01:53, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

Welcome, TeckWiz, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.
Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is Stressbusters, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.
In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals.
If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact our administrator general Natalya by email or talk page. Consider introducing yourself at the Esperanza talk page! Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia and Esperanza! If you ever need any help in any kind with something on Wikipedia or elsewhere you may see my talk page. You look like you're doing pretty good for a relatively new user—impressive, and I congratulate you. What kind of a school do you go to? I wouldn't expect it to infringe on your editing time very much. I find your opinions on the current POTUS rather... interesting.
He possibly had documents about 9/11 happening, and did nothing
He nominated someone to the Supreme Court of the US who wasn't even a judge
He caused many deaths in Hurricane Katrina when federal response from FEMA was late and too little. The head of FEMA at the time was one of "Bush's Buddies"
He knew about the NSA'S secret wire-tapping, which is an impeachable act (but now 3/4 of the Senate and the House of Representatives are Republicans and Bush's Buddies, so they would never impeach him.
Are you particularly interested in any subject matter yet? What kind of musical instruments do you play? You look like a pretty good editor— please consider editing in articles outside of the Amazing Race and Survivor namespaces, if you know what I mean. Cheers, X Mac Davis ( DESK| How's my driving?) 23:01, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Nope, there's no problem with signing yourself there, so long as you think you can handle it. No offense to you, or anything, but you have less than 1000 mainspace edits, although they look like good ones. It is my regretful task to inform you that I have closed your request for adminship early as unlikely to achieve consensus. Sorry to bother you, but it looks like there was a slight misunderstanding. You wrote on your edit summary you were reverting "double vandalism". This is quite so. For some reason I can't apprehend my revert, which should otherwise contain sensible material, became worthless and full of nonsense. I don't know how vandals do this. Maybe they edited my revert and wrote whatever they wanted, but if that was so, shouldn't that show on the History page? Please don't think of me as one of those people. If you look at my contribution list you'll see I have been fighting them very actively over the past few days and have never engaged in reprehensible behavior before. Thank you very much for your time. EDIT: Forget that. That happened because Lupin only caught a mistake on line 92 whilere there were others, which you've corrected, on line 62 and who knows where else. Hi,
You have put yourself as interested in helping out at WikiProject on user warnings. We are now at a stage where we are creating the new templates and are wondering if you are still interested? If so please visit the overview page and choose a warning type you wish to work on. There is a base template available here, which you can copy and use to get you started. Have a look through the redirects and see what old templates are affected and incorporate them into the the new system. Anyway, any questions please don't hesitate to give me a shout. Thank you for your support in my RfA, which I have chosen to withdraw early at a final count of (10/8/3) as it was unlikely to gain consensus. Most users wanted me to be more experienced, so I shall continue to contribute and reapply sometime in the future. I am grateful for the kind words I was given, and will do my best to improve in the areas that were cited as my weaknesses. Please always feel free to help me along with a suggestion on how I could improve, and if you ever need help, I am ever at your service. Best as always, Dar- Ape 23:18, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

I just saw you submitted a vandal report to WP:AIV. I just wanted to let you know that I did not block the vandal, because they were not properly warned. In most cases, you have to progress through t1, t2, t3, t4 before any action will be taken. Going to t4 directly is not really helpful, as in the case with this IP vandal, since the user only made two edits. No admin will ever block a user with one or two warnings unless it has to do with sockpuppetry. I thought you might want to know for future purposes. Keep up the good work, though. =) Best, Nishkid 64 21:47, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Hi TeckWiz. Just a little bit about AWB. Edits like these are not what AWB is supposed to be used for. AWB is an extremely powerful tool, and is great for specific tasks, but general "cleanup" edits are against the rules of use. Have fun! — Mets501 ( talk) 04:08, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Hope this proves my innocence(if you ever doubted it, that is). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ishikawa Minoru ( talk • contribs)
Glad to know everything is okay. I really must stop being paranoid but these vandals are driving me insane. Ishikawa Minoru 00:40, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
Glen is thrilled to award TeckWiz with this small token of appreciation and acknowledgement for exceptional performance in the art of troll extermination, cruft elimination and for ensuring Wikipedia is safe for public consumption... You are a legend, please keep up the great work! Glen 20:44, 16 December 2006 (UTC) |
Unfortunately whilst we can see any specific deleted edit, we can no longer see all the deleted edits of a user due to privacy concerns. So I cant help you there Im afraid...sorry! Glen 21:01, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
Hi,
You have put yourself as interested in helping out at WikiProject on user warnings.
Hi, I see you've reverted the long term vandalism on this article. I was just wondering if you intend to keep an eye on it? Malla nox 01:28, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for having requested an editor review. A month has passed since it has been posted there, and it has been archived. You can find it at Wikipedia:Editor review/R~enwiki/Archive/2006, where you may read last minute additions. We would really appreciate your help in reviewing a random editor. If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Ian Manka 01:45, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

After I saw your post on RfA talk I noticed that you were up for editor review, so I posted a few comments. Probably nothing that you haven't heard 1000 times before, but I still hope it's helpful. If you have any questions let me know. Regards, Newyorkbrad 02:37, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
TeckWiz, thanks for your ideas about supporting a strong community and helping the editors as people interact peacefully with one another. They are appreciated. Cheers, +sj + 09:14, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

Just post {{welcome123}} on a users talk page. You can find loads of newbies here! Ta! frummer 00:50, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
This user reports vandals to administrators so they can be blocked. |
I have noticed that you report vandals to Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism, so consider using the new userbox User:Lordmontu/Userboxes/Vandal Reporter. -- Lordmontu 01:53, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
I am doing research in prep for the welcomebot trail in order to establish some facts on new user trends. Please can you have a look at Category:WelcomeBotResearch. I would appreciate your involvement. Also so as to assist, please can you sub your welcome template with {{welcome123}} which includes that category. Thanks. frummer 23:19, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
